Evey writes heartwarming romances with steamy moments, often in small-town settings with an element of sports. An American from the Midwest, she now lives in a tiny country in Europe where it rains a lot. That is probably why she occupies her days typing away on her laptop with music on repeat and slow-roast coffee nearby. Oh, and she vows to never break up with cake.
This one honestly surprised me with how much I loved it. I liked the first book, but Elodie and Hayes were just so good together. Their chemistry felt effortless and I was hooked pretty quickly.
Hayes finding out he has a two year old daughter with Elodie while also suddenly working with her made for such a fun setup. I loved watching them figure out co-parenting while trying to ignore their feelings for each other. It was sweet, funny, and had so many cute moments between them.
It’s definitely a shorter read, but it didn’t feel like the plot was missing. I flew through it and genuinely enjoyed their dynamic. Now I’m really excited to see what’s next for Foster and Sutton!
Oh, absolutely beautiful story about two people who met on a trip and left with only exchanging 1st names, and those weren't even their real names. Now he has accepted a position in another town, abd who is at a party given by a friend, yep none other than mysterious one night stand, plus a bonus she left with. This is full of feisty back and forth banter between these two, yet the sparks are still there. Unavoidable is the fact they now work at same company and they are dealing with HR, trying to navigate work and personal issues. Enjoy their journey toward what may be with this possible family, beautiful story ❤️, loved it.
I’m not usually a secret baby trope girl, but I’ll admit… I do appreciate how it fast tracks the drama
Hayes and Elodie kick things off with a ONS fake names, no expectations, and zero plans to ever see each other again… until fate says absolutely not. They cross paths again at a BBQ (because of course they do), and it turns out their inner circles are way more connected than expected. Hayes’ friend puts the puzzles pieces together the second he sees the way Hayes is looking at her, and Hayes tells him how he knows her, and from there, the story just goes.
Hayes is very much that confident, take charge, possessive alpha and he knows what he wants. The second he realizes he and Elodie shared night resulted in a two year old girl, is the one and he’s all in, first ith Lola (daughter) but very soon with Eloide, too. No hesitation, no mixed signals. He’s steady, direct, and honestly kind of refreshing because he doesn’t play games, he just shows up and keeps showing up.
Elodie, on the other hand, is a lot more guarded. She’s independent, a little stubborn, and very much in her own head. She’s trying to protect herself and not get swept up in something that might only exist because of their situation… but she had me stressed with how hard she resisted. I understood her reasoning, fear, uncertainty, not wanting to blur the lines between real feelings and circumstance, but she definitely makes Hayes (and us) work for it.
So yes, we follow the classic pattern: Elodie resists, Hayes persists. But it works because the chemistry is there, the connection feels real, and when they’re together, you feel it. The spice hits and balances out the emotional push and pull.
Also: no drawn out third act breakup (bless). There *is* a moment where they take space, but it’s literally like 24 hours, so no unnecessary suffering here.
Between Hayes’ “you’re mine” energy and Elodie slowly letting her walls down, you get a solid, satisfying HEA.
Overall, this was such a great palate cleanser read quick, engaging, a little messy, a little spicy, and under 300 pages so you can easily devour it.
I fell in love with Evey Lyons’ Haven Crossroads series instantly and honestly, I wasn’t sure how she was going to top the first book, but wow did she do it with Hidden Hearts. I gave the first book 5 stars, but this one? This is a 6-star read for me.
I am such a sucker for romances that make me swoon, make me sigh, and completely immerse myself in the story, and this one just did all of that perfectly. Hidden Hearts is Hayes and Elodie’s secret baby romance, and I was hooked right from the start. Hayes is moving to Chicago to take over as CEO of his best friend’s company, and going to a BBQ and coming face to face with the woman he spent one unforgettable night with years ago was definitely not on his list. But then, coming face to face with little Lola, a little girl who looks exactly like him? That was the real shock.
Elodie cannot believe the man she met during a destination bachelorette getaway is suddenly back in her life — especially when they both used different names back then and never expected to see each other again. To make things even more complicated, Elodie works for the same company Hayes is about to become CEO of, so there is no escaping the tension, attraction and feelings still sitting between them.
What I loved so much about this story is that underneath all the chemistry, passion and emotion, it is really about finding your way back to the person you were always meant to be with. Exploring the attraction Hayes and Elodie felt all those years ago while trying to figure out what this second chance means now was just romance perfection to me. And then there is Lola. Little Lola steals Hayes’ heart instantly and honestly she stole mine too.
Watching Hayes learn how to be a dad was one of my favourite parts of the story. It felt emotional, real and so beautifully written. You could feel how much he wanted to be there for her and those moments absolutely melted me.
Add in the incredible friendships and support around them, the chemistry that practically jumps off the pages and all the emotional moments that made my heart ache in the best way and I honestly just loved everything about this story.
Evey Lyons completely pulled me into Hayes and Elodie’s world and did not let me go until the very last page. Hidden Hearts is emotional, swoony, addictive romance writing at its absolute best.
Hidden Hearts is a surprise-baby workplace romance that beautifully balances family and second chances.
Hayes and Elodie's relationship began as a vacation fling, but the connection they formed was anything but temporary. Unbeknownst to Hayes, Elodie returned home pregnant, and two years later he's stunned to discover that not only is Elodie part of his friend circle, she also works at the company where he just accepted the COO position and the adorable little girl she's raising is his daughter.
Hayes' reaction felt incredibly realistic. His anger wasn't about Lola herself—it was about the two years he missed. The milestones, firsts, and memories he can never get back weighed heavily on him, and I appreciated that the story didn't gloss over those emotions. At first, he struggles to move past his hurt and resentment, but once he takes a step back and approaches the situation calmly, he is completely committed to being the father Lola deserves.
One of my favorite parts of the story was watching Hayes fall headfirst into fatherhood. His love for Lola is immediate, and he goes all in, determined to make up for lost time. Those moments with his daughter were some of the sweetest in the book.
The chemistry between Hayes and Elodie never disappeared, despite the years and complicated circumstances between them. Hayes brings out Elodie's spontaneous side, a version of herself that few people get to see, while Elodie isn't afraid to challenge him when he becomes too demanding, which he often is. Their push-and-pull dynamic made their relationship engaging and believable as they navigated co-parenting while confronting the feelings that never truly went away.
Filled with family moments and a heartwarming second chance at love, Hidden Hearts is a touching romance about finding your way back to the people who were always meant to be part of your story.
Warning: This book may cause excessive smiling, heart melting, and an uncontrollable urge to binge read until 2 a.m.
This is my first time reading Evey Lyon's work but I really enjoyed it! Her work had me hooked from the very first chapter, I picked up Hidden Hearts expecting a sweet romance but what I got was an emotional rollercoaster that completely stole my heart.
This book had me feeling everything. The heartbreak. The longing. The frustration. The hope. And don't even get me started on the adorable little girl at the center of it all. 🥺
Tropes: Billionaire Boss Secret baby He falls first Age Gap Second chance low angst banter steamy
Hayes finds out he has a daughter that he never knew existed and watching his entire world shift was one of my favourite parts of the story. His journey into fatherhood felt so genuine and emotional. Every moment he spent getting to know his daughter made me fall for him even more! Watching him go from completely blindsided to fiercely protective father had me swooning so hard. 😭🩷
Don't even get me started on the chemistry between Hayes and Elodie. The tension, the unresolved feelings, the moments that made my heart ache before putting it back together again.
Elodie! She wasn't just keeping a secret, she spent years carrying the weight of impossible decisions, doing everything she can to protect her daughter while putting everyone else's needs before her own. Elodie isn't perfect, and that's exactly why I loved her. She's strong without being fearless, resilient without pretending she has it all together, and fiercely devoted to the people she loves.
I laughed, I teared up, and I found myself rooting for this little family every step of the way. If you love romances that hit you right in the feelings while still giving you all the butterflies, Hidden Hearts deserves a spot on your TBR. 📚💖
Hidden Hearts by Evey Lyon is book 2 of the Haven Crossroads series about Hayes and Elodie. It can be read as an interconnected standalone book, meaning you can pick up here, or you can start with book 1: Clashing Hearts which focuses on Julian and Savannah (a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me).
Hayes comes to a BBQ only to learn he has a daughter. A 2 year old daughter. Wow! This billionaire boss, age gap, workplace, second chance romance is a quick, fun read. I liked the dynamic between Hayes and Elodie. He is confident and knows what he wants. She is cautious and really considers the impact of every decision, not just for her, but also for her daughter.
I feel like the relationship between Hayes and Elodie is good. I feel the attraction that never subsided from their 1st meeting. They are navigating their schedules well. But…I just want more. I wish the story went a little deeper, more substance. For me, it felt a bit too surface level. The characters are so likeable and you really are rooting for everything to work out.
Let me know what you think of this fun romance! I’m looking forward to the next installment of the Haven Crossroads series, Bound Hearts, coming September 2026.
Thank you Evey Lyon for an advanced copy of this book.
• billionaire boss • workplace romance • age gap • forced proximity • small town romance • he falls first • single mom • second chance romance •
A swoon-worthy small-town romance that will have you smiling from beginning to end. I was excited to see that Ms. Lyon was giving us Elodie and Hayes' story. Take about a vacation fling coming back to life and so much more. Elodie and Hayes met at separate bachelorette and bachelor parties on a tropical island three years ago. Names were not shared but the sheets were on fire. Now they come face to face at their best friend's backyard BBQ. There is one, or maybe two, complications: he is her new boss, and she has a cute little girl, Lola, who is about three years old. Could you imagine looking at a little girl who has some of your features and knowing nothing about her? I loved how Hayes stepped up and wanted to be an involved parent and wanted to co-parent with Elodie, but he did not go about it in the best way at the beginning. He won my heart over when he took care of Lola when she had the chickenpox, swoon-worthy all the way. There seem to be a few sparks that have been under the surface for three years but Hayes doesn't handle the situation very well. Elodie is a woman who doesn't let anyone push her around, including Hayes. Her dedication to Lola and the life she wants for the two of them shows what kind of person and mother she is. We all know that forced proximity brings feelings to the surface and this is exactly what happened with Elodie and Hayes. The love that grew from the friendship they had was beautiful.
I am such a sucker for a single-parent, surprise pregnancy romance and Hidden Hearts gave me everything I love in this trope. Hayes gets the surprise of a lifetime when he discovers he has a daughter from a vacation fling. What follows is a beautiful journey as he and Elodie figure out how to navigate co-parenting while adjusting to this huge change in their lives. To make things even more complicated, Hayes steps into a CEO position at the very same company Elodie works for, meaning there is no escaping each other. The workplace tension, lingering attraction, and undeniable chemistry between Hayes and Elodie made this one impossible to put down. I loved watching their relationship evolve from awkward adjustments and shared parenting moments into something deeper and more meaningful. Their connection felt natural, emotional, and full of heart. But the true star of this story has to be little Lola. Watching Hayes slowly open his heart and embrace being a father was one of my favourite parts of the book. Every moment with Lola was sweet, emotional, and had me completely melting. She doesn’t just steal Hayes’ heart — she steals yours too. Add in some fun office shenanigans, plenty of steamy moments, emotional growth, and all the feels, and this became such an addictive read. Hidden Hearts is heartfelt, emotional, romantic, and another incredible addition to this amazing series by Evey. I already can’t wait to see what comes next.
This was such a sweet and binge worthy read! The story takes off immediately. While there are plenty of tense and emotional moments, the wholesome humor and light hearted banter balance everything perfectly as Elodie and Hayes navigate unexpected life changes.
What was supposed to be a no strings attached vacation fling (they didn’t even exchange their real names!) quickly turns into something much bigger when Elodie finds out she’s pregnant after returning home. With no way to contact Hayes, she fully embraces single motherhood and raises Lola on her own… until fate steps in and reveals that her mystery vacation man is not only the new COO of the company she works for but also the best friend of her best friend’s husband.
I loved how both characters genuinely stepped up as parents and handled everything with good intentions and care. Their journey kept me hooked, rooting for them to find their way back to each other and create the happy ending they deserved for themselves and their daughter.
If you’re looking for a wholesome, lighthearted romance with emotional depth, lovable characters, and plenty of tension, I highly recommend this one!
PS: That cliffhanger ending was INSANE. I need answers ASAP! (IYKYK 👀)
When I saw this was a single-parent romance, I immediately thought, yes please! Then I found out it also included a secret pregnancy trope, and I was completely sold. I don’t know what it is about those types of romances, but they are absolutely my jam.
This book delivered all of that and so much more. It was a beautiful journey filled with heart, emotion, and romance. Hayes and Elodie go from sharing a one-night stand during an island holiday to learning how to co-parent their daughter, Lola.
One of my favorite parts of the story was watching Hayes slowly open his heart and fully embrace being a father. His growth throughout the book was incredibly touching and added so much depth to the story. The connection between Hayes and Elodie felt natural, emotional, and genuinely powerful.
You’re going to love following these two as they learn to trust what is right in front of them, believe in their feelings, and take chances on the possibility of something more. Their journey is full of heartfelt moments, personal growth, and the reminder that sometimes the biggest rewards come from taking a leap of faith.
This is definitely a book I highly recommend! ⭐️📚💕
Elodie and Hayes! Where do I even begin with these two. They meet on holiday and have one night together exchanging fake names (close to their own but not quiet) to never see each other again UNTIL clashing hearts and thanks to Julian and Savannah. What I loved about this book is how Hayes stepped up straight away when he finds out about Lola. He was meant to be a dad and he was meant to be in both Elodie’s and Lola’s lives. Whilst they get to know each other and co-parent together they can’t help the spark/force that is there between them that has always been there. Elodie - single mum, working hard in finance for the company Julian owns and Hayes now works for is independent and loves her daughter - she obviously has to adjust to Hayes wanting to be involved but doesn’t stop him. Together these two navigate their chemistry, their daughter, their work lives and their love for each other (even if Hayes is stubborn) ….and Evey does it again in the epilogue with a teaser for the next book in the series and I can’t wait! Thank you to Evey and her team for this eARC in exchange for my honest review
I am picky when it comes to secret child romances because if it isn’t done right, it is such a let down. Evey though, she hit all the right notes with Hidden Hearts. The angst, the emotions, the journey of these two navigating a second chance and him finding out he is a dad. And we can’t forget the undeniable attraction.
Elodie and Hayes, these two had an intense vacation fling, never expanding their real names. So when Elodie finds out she is pregnant weeks after returning home and having no way to contact Hayes, she accepts that she will be a single mom to her baby girl. Until at bbq she comes face to face with the new CEO of her the company she works at and it is the father of her little girl.
Hayes comes to realize he is a father when he lays on Elodie’s daughter and she bares an uncanny resemblance to him. He soon comes to realize can’t control the situation when it comes to Elodie and though he is all in, Elodie holds back because they need to get to know each other.
There were so many sweet moments in this story as Hayes bonds with his daughter and learns how to be a girl dad.
Another fantastic book by Evey Lyon, and a great addition to the Haven Crossroads series. Evey Lyon has excelled at small town series for years, and each book is getting better and better.
Hidden Hearts gets right into the heart of the story quick, and then lets the reader peel back the layers, and get a inside peek at our characters. There is plenty of tension, humor, emotion, and top notch banter along the way.
Elodie and Hayes had a vacation fling years ago; no real names were used. Then the pink lines shows up, and this fling just got real. She has no way to contact daddy. She is going to embrace this single mom situation and be the best mom to Lola she can.
Fast forward a few years and her new COO, is Hayes, her vacation fling.
I loved how both Elodie and Hayes both stepped up immediately to parenthood. Elodie also welcomed Hayes as a co-parent. While privately knowing she will now need to share Lola. The story is great, characters are real, and the tease in the epilogue – now we wait!
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Hidden Hearts is book 2 in the Haven Crossroads series and it’s making me fall even more and more in love with this series. Hidden Hearts is Elodie and Hayes’s story where a one night while on separate vacations with no expectations, no real names, just a lot of fun, turns into a surprise pregnancy. Thinking they’d never see each other again, fast forward 2 years, Hayes has moves to Chicago to work for the same company as Elodie.
Hayes is a confident, take charge alpha and once he finds out he has a daughter he’s all in. No matter what he keeps showing up for both Elodie and Lola to prove that he’s here to stay, he’s all in, he’s not going anywhere. Elodie is more guarded but she is independent, stubborn and 100% loyal to the ones close to her.
So these two were fun to read about! I thoroughly enjoyed watching them figure out co-parenting, working together all while navigating their feelings for one another. Trying to make sure their feelings were real and not due to the situation they are in. They had effortless chemistry; you could feel it pouring off the page. Their feisty back and forth banter had me cracking up. Their connection felt real. Their love felt raw and developed organically; it wasn't rushed or over imbelished. There were plenty of cute, sweet and funny moments between Elodie and Hayes, but also Hayes and Lola. Hayes was wrapped around Lola’s finger from the minute they met. I loved watching the bond and connection form between Hayes and Lola. Again it wasn’t rushed, it felt organic and real as they navigated new territory. The spice hits perfectly and helps balance out the emotional push and pull between Hayes and Elodie.
This book was a cute, sweet, and quick read. While it is under 300 pages, Evey did an amazing job with giving the plot enough detail and attention all while not making it feel rushed. I’m looking forward to Bound Hearts next.
Hidden Hearts is the second book in the Haven Crossroads series and is Elodie and Hayes story. These two meet while on vacation have instant chemistry and a hot vacation fling. Almost three years later they run into each other again and the chemistry is still here but Hayes didn't know they have a child together or how connected they actually are. Their story is very realistic and even with him being so wealthy, stubborn and a man who likes control he realizes very quickly he can't steam roll Elodie. Elodie is so independent, confident and smart and truly struggles with how high handed Hayes comes off in some aspects. These two have their challenges and their journey is bumpy but so real and full of heat. Talk about an intense first date. I love all the other wonderful characters that make up their friends and families and how they help them see what is in front of them. Definitely a 5 star must read and I can't wait for the next book.
I was sent an advanced copy and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
I love a ONS, surprise baby trope and knew this book was going to be my cup of tea. I love how this book got started and the realisation for Hayes that he is a dad comes right at the start - rather than the usual build up. So the book kicks off from the start and was such a great read. Elodie is as surprised to see her baby daddy who she didn’t even swap real names with there at a bbq and realise not only do they have connected friends but he is also going to be her boss! This MMC just takes charge and it’s such a fun read. The scene with the overreaction to the flowers had me cackling! I loved how they navigated their attraction and introducing big Hayes to his daughter. This story is sweet at times, funny, and spicy - Evey writes great characters and I really enjoyed this story and could not put it down Can be read standalone
I received this as an ARC this is my review and thoughts given voluntarily.
I received an ARC of this book, all thoughts are my own.
This book was so warm and charming and I couldn't put it down. I got hooked right in the beginning, and their love story was a good amount of emotion and chemistry.
It's a tale of a 'once in a lifetime spontaneous one off holiday fling.' They were so impulsive, that they never even exchanged names! Then all of the sudden Elodie is pregnant and going home and has no way of finding Hayes. Fast forward some years later Hayes returns to her life and turns out to be the new COO of Elodie's company and on top of that, he is the best friend of her best friend's husband.
My favorite part of this story was how Elodie and Hayes handled the situation. While Hayes may have been over the top with his initial demands, I can totally understand why. Their story had plenty of tenderness and a lot of self-growth. The balance of family moments and banter with second-chance romance seemed to really well executed.
@eveylyonbooks has a new book and it’s a good one! This is the second installment in the Haven Crossroads series and features Hayes and Elodie. Elodie is a single mom with an adorable 2 year old. She goes to a backyard bbq at her besties house and to her surprise her baby daddy is there. She and Hayes had a one night stand on vacation, where they didn’t exchange real names and had no way to get in touch with each other. They are both shocked to see one another and Hayes is shocked to find out he had a daughter. Once they get past the shock Hayes is all in on being a dad. They are surprised again when they discover they work for the same company. These two have a lot to navigate with co parenting and working together and fighting their insane chemistry. Their chemistry is hot! They are perfect for each other. This book has great banter, hot spice and fun characters. This is a good series! Definitely recommend!
Evey Lyon knows how to pull you into a book. Hayes and Elodie are a one night stand that turns into a whole lot of something more. When he walks into that BBQ she was the last person he was expecting to see, and the little girl next to her. That one night turned into forever when Lola was the surprise neither would have expected. As the time goes one they learn that while co parenting is going to be interesting, they are starting to notice now they are bonded and how their hearts belong to each other. They have a few ups and downs mostly ups! Watching Hayes become a girl daddy is super cute because she has him wrapped around her finger the minute she warms up to him. They are a cute couple that wouldn’t have even been if it hadn’t been for that one night. I definitely recommend this book if you love surprise babies and all in girl dads!
💕secret baby 💕billionaire boss 💕age gap 💕second chance 💕he falls first
This was the sweetest book! I absolutely loved Hidden Hearts by Evey Lyon. Hidden Hearts is the second book in the Haven Crossroads Series and can be read as a stand alone.
The way Hayes was all in from the beginning with not only Lola but Elodie as well was so attractive. I absolutely loved his character. How he was with his girls, with his mom…I mean, freaking swoon. He’s definitely one of my favorite MMCs. And Elodie was an amazing FMC. So strong and independent. She’s been doing this life with Lola on her own and doing it well. I loved watching her left down her guard and let Hayes into their lives and into her heart.
One night stand with a secret baby trope then turns into a workplace forced proximity trope, plus age gap… gets me in the feels every time.
From the very first page, I was hooked. This book snatched me out of reality and spun a tale of love so sweet and sizzling I could not return to reality until I had finished the story.
The chemistry between Hayes and Elodie is electrifying, and neither can deny the connection between them. Hayes's stubbornness and power may create a divide between them before they can work out the details of co-parenting.
I loved this story of Hayes and Elodie, the tender moments, the parenting, the dating, the connection, and the passion. I love a story that makes me feel and I have endured many emotions reading Hidden Hearts. I recommend it to all readers who love a love story.
Hayes and Elodie had a one night stand during an island holiday,. They didn't share real names or swop numbers so there was no way to contact one another afterwards. Imagine the surprise when they unexpectedly met up again at friends years later, with Hayes staring at a little girl with his eyes and features. And finding out that Elodie works at the same company he was starting at means they were in close proximity. Adamant that he wants to be part of his daughter's life he set out to win her over as that would give him the family he thought he would never have. But it will take patience from him, making Elodie believe in his sincerity and commitment. This is a story of learning to trust what is right in front of you, trusting your own feelings and believing that taking chances can hold big rewards. Another great read from this author.
Green flag MMC This picks up after the Clashing Hearts cliffhanger, I have been so looking forward to it and I was instantly drawn back into the Haven Crossroads world. I loved Hayes, he is just green flags all the way. And the swoons! 🫠. Three years ago Hayes and Elodie met on vacation and had a connection. An adorable surprise named Lola, brings them back together, when he unexpectedly becomes her new boss, but it’s not all smooth sailing. These characters are lovely, engaging, realistic and relatable. The banter is fun, there’s loads of heart, feelings and romance, sweetness, steam, friendships and family. This is easy to read, heartwarming and has me eager for the next book in the series.
Hidden Hearts is Hayes and Elodie’s secret baby/second chance romance. It’s book two in the Haven Crossroads Series and I loved everything about this entertaining and at times emotional story. This book had me swooning and falling hard as I watched billionaire Hayes reconnect with Elodie the woman he had one night with and more importantly form a bond with Lola the little girl he never knew he had….. This is a beautifully written story about love, trust, friendships and taking a leap of faith, it has characters I fell hard and fast for and a story with layers. From the first chapter I found myself invested in Hayes and Elodie but it was the adorable Lola who stole my heart. This journey touched me on so many levels .
✨ Small Town Romance ✨ Billionaire Romance ✨ Secret Baby Romance
⭐ 4/5
Elodie and Hayes
This romance follows Elodie and Hayes. When they first met it was without real names and supposed a short vacation fling. But when Elodie gets back home she got more out of that time than just a tan. and a memory. Finding someone who doesn't really know is impossible and so when they run into each other years later per absolute coincidence, Hayes is angry and hurt. It was cute and sweet that they tried to make co parenting work without falling for each other and denying what they already feel. Beautiful shorter read with lots of funny and sighing moments.
Elodie and Hayes... they were just meant for eachother. Meeting in another setting, not giving their real names and 2 years later.... Hello secret baby Lola! This is such a sweet story about a really persistent billionaire named Hayes and a great woman named Elodie having their little girl. Looking for him made it impossible, but they will work together. And oops... how their colleagues find out! This was a great story to read, loads of friendship dynamics between Hayes, Julian (book 1), Foster (book 3) and the other goofy one and Elodie and Savanah and Sutton. You could feel the chemistry throughout the book between Elodie and Hayes and their stars just alligned meeting again. Great story, easy read. 5 stars! Can't wait for book 3 with Foster and Sutton.
Hayes comes to his best friend’s home and runs into Elodie, a woman he had an encounter with on vacation three years ago. He discovers that he has a two year old daughter which is shocking. He is all in but Elodie is concerned and reluctant because Hayes is pushy. They have to get to know each other and co-parent their daughter Lola. They also have to figure out their work situation since they work together. Hayes has to show Elodie that he wants her and Lola. This was a sweet and sexy age gap, surprise baby romance.
**I received an advanced reader copy of this book for free and I am voluntarily leaving this review.**
I have been excited for Hayes and Elodie’s story ever since that cliffhanger in Clashing Hearts, and it did not disappoint! Their story was so sweet, and Lola was absolutely adorable. Evey’s books always pull me in, and I love the connections she creates between all of her characters and stories.
Hayes was incredibly determined, but I really loved that Elodie stood her ground while still allowing herself to open up her heart. Watching their relationship unfold felt natural and made me root for them the whole way through.
I absolutely loved their story and already cannot wait to get Foster and Sutton’s book!
The second book in the Haven Crossroads series did not disappoint. I love the characters and the storyline. Hayes and Elodie are endearing and their chemistry sizzles. Don't even get me started on sweet little Lola!
Hayes is the ultimate quintessential go getter and will stop at nothing to achieve whatever he wants. And he wants Elodie and Lola. Love his tenacity and his ability to finally realize that to get what he wants, he must treat Elodie as a partner and not one of his business conquests.
Elodie is strong and holds her ground which grants her the respect she deserves.
Absolutely love the book. It's a big thumbs up for me.
