The Substitute Mommy

Maggie is overcome with emotion that her little girl is actually old enough to start first grade, and it brought back all the old memories of how she became a mother at the tender age of fifteen! She had moved to protect her daughter and to keep the promise she made to raise Charity as her own, and then moved again when someone she knew spotted her and started vicious rumors that weren’t true. She was happy in the small town, and when she met the teacher’s son, she couldn’t help responding to him. Nathaniel is completely taken with the pretty seamstress, but he was sure she was hiding something. He was tempted to take her over his knee to learn the truth, but he was afraid Maggie would refuse to have anything further to do with him if he gave her a spanking. She had made it clear what she thought of a man spanking a grown woman! She thought it despicable, and it made him wonder if her deceased husband beat her. Finally, the inevitable happened, and Maggie was faced with telling Nathaniel the truth. She feared losing his love, but she would not give up her daughter, not for any man! The child was hers in every way that mattered.

Love Is Thicker Than Blood
This is a sweet story with delightful characters that is heartwarming with witty dialogue. Nat Williams is a charming but dominate man that doesn't tolerate lying or misbehaving. He was raised in, and believes in Domestic Discipline and proves it. Maggie lost both her parent when she was just a young teenager. At 15 years old, when a stranger thrust a two month old infant at her and makes her promise to raise the baby as her own, she does just that, even when she is been threatened. The relationship between Nat and Maggie is sweet and he is accepting of Charity too. The story is charming with some twist and turns. There is several mentioning of spankings, and then one punishment and one erotic spanking, with the sex mostly implied.

This is a cute story by Dort Wesley. Maggie was given Charity when Charity was just 2 months old. Her mother had died and her father was killed after robbing a bank. Maggie moved a few times once she decided to raise Charity. She didn’t want anyone to know she wasn’t Charity’s mother. Maggie and Charity meet Nathaniel when Maggie goes to the school to get Charity. Nathaniel is the school teacher’s son. He is starting a new business as a newspaper man. Maggie and Nathaniel start to court and they fall in love. It is only after they fall in love that Nathaniel finds out that Maggie is a virgin. He spanks the truth out of her and he learns the whole story. There is a HEA. I give this story 5 stars.

This was a quick but enjoyable read. Maggie has a lot of courage and a good heart. But she is keeping one big secret. Nat is drawn to this sweet and wonderful woman but he doesn't like deceit and he can spot that something isn't as it appears. But when the truth is revealed so is the love. A very touching story and great Valentine's Eve read.
