No está mal el final, pero tampoco ha sido una gran historia. Muy cliché y normalita. Me reafirmo en que lo mejor que tiene es la dupla de Narumi y Hoshina 🤌
I confess I was pretty nervous going into this volume after hearing mixed thoughts on the ending, but I shouldn't have worried at all because this volume was absolutely wonderful!
I feel everything came full circle and thought the ending was so much more than I ever could have predicted! I would also say it was more emotional too because there were several key moments I teared up and even gasped out loud at one point! After all, Sensei still had to give us a good twist, as he did in every previous volume!
It's wild to me that despite how high and intense the stakes have gotten every volume, I never imagined that the stakes could go even HIGHER in this final volume, but they did!! :o :o :o Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, it did, but WOW!
The way everyone came together was truly magnificent! I will say that I am especially touched by how Sensei portrayed Mina and Kikoru because never once have these women been fan service side pieces, but have been women who are essential and, I would even say, the foundation of the Defense Force. The respect that he has shown for these women in this story has always touched me deeply, but I feel downright blessed in how, even in the most pivotal moment of this story, they were right there at the heart of it with Kafka. So well done!
I am already saddened at the idea that I will have no more volumes to pick up, but I am also filled with immense happiness at how the series concluded. This was such an incredible story that had me wishing I could read faster with the increasing intensity, character growth, and overall story.
From start to finish, this is a series I would highly recommend!
Fun overall but suffers from waaaaaaaay too many characters, none of which really justify themselves by being interesting. And the last arc felt rather un-thrilling, unfortunately. Bogged down here, when the beginning was so intriguing and fairly novel-feeling. Oh well.
Check the covers for 15 and 16 though. Very clever. (yes, the author pointed it out to me)
And I'm glad this went the Pacific Rim route for Kafka and Mina... or at least it seems like it. 0 chemistry!
It's over :') I will forever be a sucker for found family. I loved that the battle was won by everyone fighting together. I was so proud of Kikoru and Ichikawa especially, they grew into such wonderful people and fighters. Also that panel with Ichikawa freezing the monster and calling Kafka partner and Kafka returning to the third division and Ichikawa welcoming him back, I got so emotional in both of them.
Kikoru using no1's weapon was insane and the fact that she could use weapons from four different kaijus'? She is so powerful and insane, love her.
Anyways I loved the ending, I'm going to rewatch the anime now

I really liked the final battle and I do like that every major character does get a role to play in dealing with the threat. From Shinomiya making the opening and Mina stopping the final attack my only real complaint is that I wished that Reno got a bigger role since after he got his new weapon he really did not participate much in the final fight. It would have been amazing to see Kafka, Shinomiya, and Reno all having equal roles in the final fight against Kaiju No 9. I do wish there was more cost to Kafka becoming a real kaiju in the final fight as it feels they were building up to a tragic ending but it gets dropped really fast. I would have preferred at least to have Kafka be in a permeant kaiju state or at least the opposite of his usual state where it takes effort to stay in a human form and his Kaiju form is his default setting. But still the final volume was great and I like they kind of give Kafka a role that better fit his skills at the beginning of the story where he supports others by using his extensive Kaiju knowledge. The series overall was great and I like all of the characters, I do wish we learned more about the origins of the Kaijus as it felt at times like that was being built up as a major mystery but they never really focused on it. Still a great series.
Espectacular.
it was a good ending, but for someone who binge read the whole series and the ending was half recap, it was disappointing. also, i thought the kaiju would have disappeared after that last boss, but nope, they just keep popping up like nothing changed, i guess 🤷♀️
Good and satisfying ending. The final battle of it all is upon us and everyone bands together to take down the final monster. I was wondering how this was gonna end with the Kaiju 8 twist that happened and it was sweet. I liked it and it made sense. We got an epilogue of sorts as well, I could have used maybe a bit more but it was funny, sweet, and showed us how they are continuing to fight against the Kaiju.
This was wrapped up really nicely but I wish we had seen one final page or a couple panel with his old boss. I loved him.
Why... is it done? We can't be done here! I mean, it ends happy, but... they can't be gone?! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! *sobbing and screaming like a pterodactyl*
I am soooo sad this series is over. It has been such a fun one and I think it ended really well!!! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the series animated!!
