I have two rules. Excel at my new job as athletic trainer for a hockey team. And absolutely, under no circumstances, develop feelings for any of my players.
I break rule two approximately eleven days in. With three men. At the same time.
In my defense, Cole, the brooding team captain, should not be allowed to cook shirtless in a shared kitchen. Mateo, the team's resident ray of human sunshine, memorized my coffee order after one conversation and flirts like it's a cardio workout. And Liam reads romance novels with a rescue cat in his lap, and watches me with intensity.
They're best friends. They're my patients. They share a house.
A house I now live in, because the universe flooded my apartment and apparently thought, You know what would be hilarious?
I'm supposed to be starting over, not starting something that could cost me everything I've worked for.
Three hockey players. One very inconvenient house. A woman who's finally learning that the love she deserves might not look anything like she was taught to expect.
This is a why-choose sports romance with a found-family heart, forced proximity that goes from sweet to scorching, and three men who prove love doesn't have to be a competition.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story of four strong people who are all broken in one way or another, who alone are broken and helpless in their mental torments. Together they form a strong bond and they are able to stand tall and fight for each other’s redemption. I loved hoe Gemma felt protected, strong and loved by Cole, Liam and Mateo. Through Cole’s injury, Mateo’s families abuse of his wealth and Liam’s father’s history of anger and abuse. Together they have their happily ever after.

I loved how four broken people were able to find one while between all of them. It made this story feel so real when they weren’t perfect. They were human, had issues and difficulties in life. And were able to come together to make one big and beautiful family. I loved the banter, the fun and sweetness that this story brought. The why choose. It was just great all the way around.
Super fun dynamic. I loved the comedic relief with Mateo! It was really fun to watch them each develop an interest, and work as a team to keep her, rather than fight for her. I really wish there was more of an epilogue! I wanted more more more lol.
