I already know more about Magnus Lundgren than I should. Thirty-one. Swedish. Bought his mother a house. Still uses a flip phone. It’s all on my spreadsheet, which I started to help my sister land a pro hockey player. But then she got engaged to the team’s coach, and suddenly the man who was row one, column A of my spreadsheet is standing in my living room. He doesn’t flirt or chase, but he shows up every time I need him and sometimes for no reason at all. He lets my five-year-old drag him to the floor to play cars and helps me study for nursing school exams. There’s just one thing he won’t do, and that’s get attached to anyone or anything he can’t pack into a suitcase. He’s made an art form out of keeping people at arm’s length. I’m freakishly good at keeping men out of my life entirely, because men who can find a reason to leave always do. Nothing that feels this good lasts. Both of us know that. But no matter what chaos is surrounding me and my boys, Magnus keeps showing up. And I’m starting to see that the most dangerous thing he’s done isn’t making me worry he’ll leave, but making me believe he might be the one who stays.

This one was cute. Magnus is at a turning point, he so wants to stay with the team, for his family and for himself. You can tell he wants to have a place to fit in, to call home to really bond with the team, but since he doesn't have a long term contract, it's all up in the air.
Blair, a single mom, going to nursing school, newly introduced to the hockey world through her sister Jules, is holding it all together for her family. As they become more involved with the hockey world through Jules, she meets more of the team and their women. It's fun to see the friendships build among the women. But it's things with Magnus that are the real interest. The two of them get along great! Magnus likes the boys and he's really honest with Blair about his situation with the team. They both are falling fast and they have some frank talks about things. It's nice that a contract come through with the Crush and they can now make firm plans for their future.
Reckless with the Rookie is a perfect blend of spicy and sweet with two characters who find what has been missing in their lives and what has been missing is a connection, trust and the opportunity to show who they really are deep down by sharing their hearts and secrets. Blair is a single mom of two boys, Eli and Coop, who is balancing raising two young boys on her own and going to nursing school to make a better life for them all. What she doesn’t have time for is a relationship nor does she want to trust someone with her heart again. Magnus Lundgren is Swedish, trying to make it back to a high level of play in the NHL after recovering from an injury. He is struggling because he is trying desperately to earn a spot on the team and every play counts. He also feels the pressure to succeed since he is supporting his mom and his sister’s rehabilitation after a life changing accident. Most don’t see the soft side of this tough player, but Blair and her two boys are opening him up to so many possibilities. I loved the easy connection that he found with Blair as they explored their chemistry. The biggest thing hanging over their heads was whether he would stay with the team or be traded.
This is such a sweet book with a little spice. Blair was such a strong woman raising two young boys by herself and going to college for a nursing degree. It warmed my heart how she and her sister were so close. Her sister got engaged to the Cleveland hockey coach which gave Blair access to the hockey players which she wasn’t especially interested in until Magnus. Magnus had been hurt a few years ago, and now he was trying to show he could be a credit to the Cleveland team. He was such a sweetheart from Sweden who was taking care of his sister and mother in Sweden. Blair’s young boy Cooper met him and fell instantly in love with him and was always asking Blair if Magnus could come over and play cars with him. Blair’s older son Eli was a little more reserved and into school. Magnus had no idea if Cleveland would keep him or if another team would try and get him. I loved the two getting to know each other and most of the time including her two boys in whatever they did. The story was funny at times as well as a sweet love story. I strongly encourage you to read the book.
I think I may need a Swedish man because Magnus is so so sweet!! He’s a level headed, committed and responsible adult. And I love him for it! And I love Blair for the strong, single mom that she is. She is intent on giving her sons the best parent they can possibly have and won’t settle for less. Together they make a formidable couple. I love that Brenda puts so much thought into her characters. These two feel like real people, with real expectations and resolute to their responsibilities. There’s always a sense of humbleness to her main characters and I love that. It connects me to the story and honestly this whole series has been so fun. And let me not forget the supporting characters, made up of Blair’s sons, her sister and the rest of the hockey teammates and their partners. They are a great cast of characters and their chemistry is so good. And a final word to Blair’s son Coop. His character is adorable and funny and I may have snort laughed a few times with some of his lines. Great read and great series!!
Brenda, Where’s the epilogue?!?! I wanna be with Blair, Eli and Coop when they meet Magnus’ mom and sister!! I feel invested in this meeting!
I love Magnus soooo much!!!! He’s my kind of book boyfriend! Blair’s sister is Jules who we previously get to know super well in the prior story… because of this, Blair has gotten to know her friends and now she’s friends with them as well. One of those friends is Magnus. He just happens to be one of the hockey players on the team who currently only has one year on his contract to show the team how much of an asset he is to the team. One dinner together becomes so much more when he decides he doesn’t want to stay away from Blair and her boys any longer. She makes him happy. He wants that happiness. Be deserves that happiness! I loved this story very much to the point I read it in one day over two sittings. Just saying!

She is a single mom of two working her way through nursing school with no time to date. Magnus is coming back from an injury trying to impress the team for a contract also with no time to date. Of course neither will be able to resist each other and the predictability is what made this so good. Thank you to the author Brenda Rothert for the advanced reading copy. I am already looking forward to getting my hands on the goalie book. 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄. • 𝗛𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲.• 𝗢𝘂𝘁 𝗡𝗼𝘄.
Another great addition to the Love On Line Series. Love Blair & Magnus they just click. Blair is a strong independent single parent raising 2 sons, her main focus is becoming a nurse and making sure her sons are provided for, until she meets Magnus through her sister who is marring the hockey coach. Magnus is doing everything he can to get a place on the Cleverland team to earn more money to help his sister and mother, his main focus is hockey until he meets Blair & her sons. Waiting for the offers to come in Magnus decides he wants a relationship with Blair and whatever happens they will work it out. The chemistry between these too is hot, just love how they all become come a family. There was no break ups just a sweet love story that anyone would want. Excited fo for the next book
Reckless Rookie is single mum Blair and professional hockey player Magnus Lundgren’s entertaining, sweet and captivating story. It’s book six in the Love On Line Series and I loved everything about this one. Blair meets Magnus through her sister who is engaged to the team coach and from the moment they meet sparks fly. Problem is she is doing what ever is needed to raise her two boys, Eli and Cooper while studying to become a nurse and Magnus is looking for a NHL contract …So will they take a chance on a leap of faith and possibly risk careers and friendships. This well written, sweet romance touched my heart, it’s a heartwarming story with characters I fell hard and fast for.
Single mom Blair is definitely not looking for any kind of love life. She has two little boys to raise. Hockey player Magnus is not looking for any kind of love life. He has a hockey career he has to save and get another contract to keep playing. But the unlikely pair are just too cute together. With a little matchmaking and meddling from her sister and the other hockey wags, love is in the works for these two.
Blair was a single mom supporting two boys while pursing a nursing degree. She was not looking for love but then it came in the form of Magnus, a hockey play from Sweden. Magnus was focused on getting a contract as he needed the money for his sister and mom. He did not realize what he was missing in life being so singularly focused on his hockey career. It was a nice romance albeit being short and the romance between Magnus and Blair was rushed.
Reckless With The Rookie was another great read from BR! It’s a sweet read, with a few spicy scenes to add a little something. No second-act breakup and a happily ever after. While it would be best read in line with the rest of the series, it could still be read as a standalone without too much confusion.
I loved this! Such a great addition to this series! I always loved Magnus & how he takes care of his family back in Sweden. So I loved seeing him & Blair and the boys getting to know each other. It was sweet, it was yummy, and I truly enjoyed it. Love this series!
would be easily a 4.5 but it was literally 180 pages, i’ve had sneezes longer than this book such a shame because the characters and storyline has so much potential
