USA Today and NY Times bestselling author Candice Gilmer leads a dangerous double life as a mommy and a writer. In between boo-boo healing and fixing broken toys, she writes stories usually to the tune of children's television shows.
Growing up in the Midwest, Candice stays close to her family, especially the ones with basements when the tornadoes come around.
All in all, she stays very busy, but really, she wouldn't have it any other way.
Will There Ever Be Peace? The war between humans and Novians lasted for many, many years and took too many lives. Now they are supposed to terraform a planet together in peace. But not everybody is willing to put the weapons down. Luke, a cyborg after heavily wounded in the war, is a sleeping pawn sent to The Colony to be ready when he is needed. Mori is a banished Novian war priestess, who defied orders by letting a soldier live instead of taking him to her god. Both know they will not leave The Colony alive. But Fate has a different agenda. A fast paced story about an alien planet, war, peace and people who lived through the war and cannot leave it. Not very long, but enjoyable to read. I received a free copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this one but I was enthralled from the start and kept reading nonstop til I was done. This story has elements of romance, scifi, military epics, spy thrillers and fantasy all rolled into one fascinating tale. The aftermath of war two damaged souls come together on a world thats experimenting with the two species living and working together. A plot to disrupt the peace and Pliny back into war, secrets, and beings with varied and cool powers. I loved the broken souls finding each other and bonding, loved the setting and the world building. Just a hint of spice. Overall a fun, creative and captivating story!
This was an exciting series opener that takes us from the battlefield to a time that should be a recovery project where the humans and Novians work together in peace to terraform a planet. Ha! Things are not as settled as many would hope and Mori, a 'disgraced' Novian war priestess, and human cyborg, Luke, are put back in each other's sphere... This is a romance filled with secrets, intrigue, drama and danger. I loved the pacing, and the world building was fab. Both Luke and Mori are damaged from the war and I loved seeing them find some healing together in this fated mates romance. I'm looking forward to diving into the next book :D
