"Their family had weathered hard things, and anytime she thought of Kenneth lying in that hospital bed, the ventilator’s tube running into his throat, her cramping heart knew that harder things were lying ahead.
But right now, they were together, and that was what mattered."

As their father continues on life support this book shifts a bit to the next generation as Landon and Becky get closer, Brianna and Vicky make a stark decision, Nicole and Luke draw closer and Charley "cowgirl's up" to both her feelings for Ray and what happened in her past.

How much of the secret the sisters are keeping will affect the family as well as the community at large?

It is so hard to not post spoilers in this series. I read this book in *one* sitting as Megan Jacobs continues this series that I simply can't put down. Highly Recommended 5/5

This is a clean romance/suspense novel. It is book 4 of 6. It does have a cliffhanger and you need to read prior books to see where the story is going.

All three Garrett sisters are still working on trying to solve the mystery of the smugglers from a while ago. Charlie and Ray are not doing well. Vicki is getting along better with her kids and relaxing. Nicole is unsure about what to do with her marriage. There is another surprise of who is involved in the smuggling.

There was a lot going on. Twists and turns. I am enjoying the story and how the relationships are evolving. Not only the adults, but those of the kids as well. And the mystery of the smuggling, I'm starting to find out more. It'll be interesting to see who all was involved. I feel for Nicole, she wants her daughter to be happy, but at what cost to her? Looking forward to book 5 to see what is going to happen next.

Emotions and relationships continue to ‘see-saw’ throughout the Garrett family saga as Ms Jacobs skilfully includes all her characters, and their differing doubts, into another exciting instalment. Just as the reader expects a break in the intensity of the story, another plot twist increases the edgy tone the author has created.
Dad Kenneth’s condition remains unstable and the plot involving his past activities becomes murkier with every new discovery. The sisters each face major obstacles in their relationships with potential partners, while the younger members of the cast continue to struggle with their own dilemmas.

Continuing on from book 3 the Garrett sisters thought they could handle anything until the ICU calls with the news they’ve been dreading. Their father’s condition has taken a sudden turn, and this time, the family must brace for the unknown.
Charley is doing her best to hold everything together at the Ranch.
Nicole is staying strong for her mom and her daughter.
Meanwhile Vicky is forced to confront what she feels and what she fears the most.
Then all three sisters are thrown for a loop when they discover Eleanor Garrett knows more about the night of the fire than she’s admitted.

Good yarn that keeps the hook in for the next book.

I love all things Megan Jacobs, and this does not disappoint; this is book four in The Lighthouse Landing series. The Garrett family live at Shoreline Ranch, on the outskirts of Lighthouse Landing. After the main ranch house burned to the ground (arson), Eleanor (mom) got out safely; but Kenneth (dad) is still in a coma on life support. Charley the daughter who lives on the ranch full time, is possibly admitting to her feelings for Ray a "ranch hand." Is their a mystery of smugglers in Eleanor and Kenneth's past? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I can't wait for the next book in the series!!!

The mystery surrounding the lighthouse and the smuggling operation continues to deepen, right alongside the evolving relationships in this charming town. With each book, we uncover more pieces of everyone’s pasts, and it makes the story richer every time. I absolutely love these young people and the choices they’re making as they grow, heal, and step into who they’re meant to be. This series just keeps pulling me in.

Just when I thought this could not get any better, this book really pulls you into three generations of a family, their challenges, their secrets and their new plans. Amazing characters as they work through life while supporting each other (mostly) and try to figure out how to deal with the surprises. The storyline keeps you pulled in from the first to the last page and I can't wait for the next book. Wonderful to read.

The Promise We Make (Lighthouse Landing - Book 4) by Megan Jacobs continues the Garrett sisters working together to save the family ranch while trying to solve the mystery of who is trying to destroy their legacy. Each sister has personal struggles of their own but over the course of the books they see the path clearer. There are secrets with their parents, then a father in a coma that make this story continues to be heart tugging and hard to put down. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but it is a page-turner. I found reading the series in order is best. 4.5 Stars

THE PROMISE WE MAKE by Megan Jacobs is an emotional, sister-centered, clean romantic suspense/mystery that’s definitely a page-turner - with plenty of family drama, long-buried secrets, hidden dangers, and multiple storylines -
the story grabs your attention and doesn’t let go!

As part of the Lighthouse Landing series, it does end in a cliffhanger.
And I can’t wait to read the next book!

The Promise We Make, Book 4, continues the Lighthouse Landing Series which finds Charly, Nicole, and Vicky focusing on their personal issues, relationships, and working together to assist their mother. Their father continues his stay in the ICU which increases the drama and stress they are experiencing with the allegation issues. But, Charly finds a ledger which only enhances the issues they are dealing with at this point. The book ends in a cliffhanger and will continue in the fifth book of the series.

Kenneth health is not improving and the sisters are struggling with the secrets they discovered. Nicole wants a divorce to be with Luke, Vicky and Warren are still at war which only ceases when they have to work together, Charlie and Ray seem to be near but miles apart. Landon will go to Nashville but will Becky remain safe and improving herself? Another cliffhanger will end this book and I'm really looking forward to learn what will come next!
I thank Ms. Jacobs for this ARC.

3.5/5⭐️
The Garrett sisters have definitely gone through a lot in recent times, but they have also learnt that together they are strong. Despite the bleak conditions, it has also led to forgiveness and reconciliation among the sisters.

This is book four out of six, and this time round the romances have progressed into love triangles. Personally, I am not a big fan of the trope so I hope that it gets resolved cleanly in the next book.

In The Promise We Make, can the Garrett family stay united as everybody and everything that’s important to them changes once again?

Will they stay united through adversity?

I always like the horses in this series, and like to find out what’s going to happen to the characters.

Thanks to Megan Jacobs.

I didn’t think any more twists could come, but there were plenty in this installment of the Garrett family story. From a reappearing husband, to a new participant in the scandal, to budding relationships I was left guessing all along. I love the way these characters have all found their way into my heart as though I was part of the family.

Problems abound for each of the 3 sisters.
All of their love-lives are falling apart.
And Charley finds "The Ledger" that was hidden in the tack room, implicating her Mother, Eleanor in the smuggling scandal.
Another fantastic read by Megan.
Get me to book #5....

The Garrett sisters´ story shows how hard it is to keep on going when what life puts on your shoulders seems to heavy to bear. Unfortunately we tend to focus on the negative aspects and forget to appreciate the support we get, but I think that´s only human.

This story continues the mystery with the Garrett sisters and their father. Charley uncovers more secrets about her family and puts walls up around Ray and Brianna but that could change when she’s forced to face her past and her mother comes forward with more revelations. Nicole is starting to move on with Luke when Ralph comes to the ranch. Vicky is torn between two men but after what her ex did and all her recent struggles, I can understand why she’s not sure what she wants. Becky has a chance at a new life away from her abusive father, but when Landon gets the opportunity of a lifetime it challenges their new young love. The book also ended on a cliffhanger.
