Except for the prefaces, introductions, footnotes and index, this book consists of quotations from the Greek and Roman philosophers cited in the appended table of contents or of quotations from other ancient writers about these philosophers. I picked it up and read through the thing while taking Peter Maxwell's course, 'The History of Ancient Philosophy', at Loyola University Chicago during the first semester of 1981/82.

Still reading as a reference (so bouncing around as needed). This is not a book you ever really finish reading. My copy is a hardback “revised edition” published in 1907 by “Charles Scribner’s Sons.”
As someone else mentioned it is mostly translated quotes of the Ancient Greek and Roman philosophers listed in the contents.
