This had such a strong idea behind it and honestly for a debut/newer author, I can see the potential. The masked man/stalker vibes were definitely there and a few scenes genuinely gave me the creeps in the best way.

The characters had interesting backstories and trauma that could’ve been explored even deeper, which made me want more from them emotionally. I just felt like the story moved too fast at times and some parts needed a little more polishing/proofreading to fully hit the way they were meant to.

That said, I still found myself hooked enough to keep reading because the darker atmosphere and tension were really intriguing. I’ll definitely be interested to see what this author writes next

Read the trigger warnings!!!

Starting out in a quiet little town called Devils Bend where murder wasnt a thing until recently. Now that its happening Cailey Bellefonte has been having some strange dreams and feelings that she is being watched.

In this books we get spice, myster and stalkers POV.

This little novella packs a punch. My only complaint is that it felt a little to rush towards the end.

I was instantly gripped by this story! Murder, mystery, intrigue, and a morally dubious masked man? I’m in!

Cailey— a ditz at times but god she makes you wanna be her.
Zach— precious baby boy who can do no wrong.

The spice? Oh it’s spicy. 🌶️🌶️🌶️ and JA Claybourn? Yeah, she will keep you on the edge of your seat for 189 pages!!

This was a quick and interesting read! I finished it in just about 2 hours or so.

I really hope that the author decides to make it into a full length novel (or two) so that we can experience some more tension, internal debate, stalking, etc. as it felt like it was too rushed. It has a really interesting premise and I want more so badly! There was plenty of spice in such a short book though!

Can we talk about this novella, please? When your debut publication is capable of making me say, "What?!" and "I have questions!?" at every turn, you KNOW that book is going to live rent-free in your head forever. Picture it, you're a 26-year-old waitress in the small town of Devil's Bend.

You arrived here 16 years ago in the cab of the local sheriff's pickup truck. It's nearly Halloween, and a murder occurs, a big, bad one. From there, you will not know which way to turn your head.

If you're a fan of Leigh Rivers Web of Lies duology, you will understand the vibes of Devil's Bend. MMC is giving Malachai Vize vibes for real. Check your trigger warnings; this book is dark, spicy, and suspenseful.

I hope this author will write a dark rom-com one of these days because their MC's had me giggling in spots I probably shouldn't be giggling in. The spice was real, and we are always down for spice. God, what else can I say? Give it a read! JA, these twists will stay with me!

Novella that packs a punch in about 100 pages. In a town where murders start happening, and they're pinning the blame on someone you wouldn't expect....and then it turns out to be someone you never saw coming. Such twists and turns that pull you in. An emotional rollercoatser. He chases her. Things keep happening without explanation and the FMC can't seem to pinpoint why. I was being pulled every which way while reading this book. I was at the edge of my seat while reading this one!
