From award-winning author K. Ancrum comes a striking and original YA novel about a troubled girl who meets an otherworldly creature, the next read for fans of Kacen Callender and Ari Tison.

Ellie is counting down the days until high school is over. She just has to make it four more months until she’s in charge of her own life and away from her negligent guardian. One night while at the gas station, Ellie encounters someone stealing food. Someone who looks exactly like her. Another Ellie. Even more strange is that in an instant, the creature changes again, and takes on the appearance of a new person.

Ellie and the stranger form an uneasy relationship, and he soon reveals himself to be an ancient creature trapped in human form. Ellie's the only one who can help him recover an item from his past that has the power to secure his freedom -- as well as her own. As they delve deeper into each other’s histories, they will discover that perhaps they were always meant to cross paths, and save each other.

K. Ancrum's breathtaking new YA novel is magical, visceral, and memorable -- a must have for fans of deeply emotional reads like EVERY DAY and COMPOUND FRACTURE.

I had the pleasure of reading an early copy of this book and it was such a delight! A fascinating take on classic supernatural trope with an MC who you can’t help but adore, engaging side characters, and a some very emotional moments. Everyone who picks this up is in for a real treat!

one of my favorites of ancrum's parables, ellie ellie is a gorgeous, vicious story of identity, community, autonomy, and being seen for who you truly are, rather what the world believes you are.
