One RV. Three thousand miles. And a friendship about to hit a dead end—or a new beginning.
Emily Ferreira is the “Schedule Queen,” and her post-grad plan is a solo trek to the red shores of Prince Edward Island to find herself. More importantly, she’s putting three thousand miles of distance between her and JJ Walker—the best friend she is inconveniently, hopelessly in love with.
JJ has been playing the sidekick since the fifth grade, but he’s tired of being an afterthought in her color-coded world. Refusing to let her face the road alone, he crashes her solo mission and turns Emily’s meticulously organized walkabout into a shared adventure of campfire steaks and stolen kisses.
When their dream trip takes a terrifying detour, JJ must prove that the strongest structures aren’t built of stone and mortar—but of the promises you keep when everything is on the line.

Jill comes from a large family with six siblings, including an identical twin. She was raised in the Pacific Northwest and later relocated to Colorado for college and a successful IT career before discovering her talent for writing sweet and sexy page-turners. After Colorado, she decided to move south, living in Texas and now making her home along the Emerald Coast of Florida. You will find that the settings of several of her series are inspired by her time spent living in these areas. She has two sons and off-set the testosterone in her house by adopting three furry little ladies that provide her company while she’s locked in her writing cave. She enjoys heading to the beach, hiking, swimming, wine-tasting, and pickleball with her husband, and of course writing. If you have read any of her books, you may also notice that there is a love of food, especially sweets! She has been blamed for a few added pounds by her assistant, editor, and fans… donuts or pie anyone?
Emily decided that before starting her new job as a teacher after the summer, that she was going travelling alone on an epic roadtrip to see the landmarks of "Anne of Green Gables". Her parents and her best friend thought this would be a bad idea and too dangerous so insisted that her best friend JJ should join her.
Although Emily wasn't keen to keep her parents happy he came along. Emily's planning skills had a very precise schedule which JJ was happy to go along with.
Having never spent so much time alone in close quarters it turns out that they get along better than expected and they have a great time. A good twist in the tale makes Emily realise that she needed JJ more than she bargained for.
I loved the crossover into another of Jill's worlds! Great story with excellent adventures.
This is such a great friends-to-lovers story. Emily and JJ have been inseparable since 5th grade. JJ has loved her all along, but she’s never seemed to notice. Emily plans a long vacation inspired by her favorite books to get some distance and sort out her feelings for him. The catch? JJ refuses to let her go alone. As they travel across the country, they realize they both want more than friendship—but what if it doesn’t work out? Emily fears losing her best friend, while JJ is determined to keep her in his life, even if it’s only as friends. When Emily is targeted by a man during their trip, JJ steps in to save her. Will they end up together as friends and lovers, or remain just friends?
Friends for years, Emily is looking to get away by herself to figure out where her feelings really lay. JJ doesn't like the idea of her going alone and neither do their parents. What was a solo trip turns into a trip where JJ and Emily figure out what is really important!
I really enjoyed this story and all the stops along the way.
This is a book to read when you want a feel good story that is heartwarming and hopeful. It has sweet, funny and thoughtful moment between Emily and JJ as they road trip to Prince Edwards Island. There long time friendship has the time it needs to become more. Add a little drama and you've got a read that leaves you happy.
Friends to lovers, my favorite. Emily is planning solo trip. Her friend JJ do not want her to go on that trip alone, so he decide to go with her. His one problem, he has been in love with Emily for a long time and seems like she doesn't have the same feelings. This trip will be beginning or end for them. Great story, loved it so much.
