Rowan Unfolded is Book 1 in the Love, Communicated series by K. Kenley. It is a short and sweet series starter that has me looking forward to the rest.
Rowan is a playful and likable character who is relatable and easy to root for. She has a youthful personality with a mature outlook. The protagonists are in their mid-to-late 30s, have done the work through their respective traumas, and are in a great position to begin opening their hearts to others. Larissa has a strong, refreshing spirit and, as I imagine, a cute British accent. The romance moves quickly, but the protagonists seem well-suited and start on the right foot, with open communication and clear expectations. I prefer to see a bit more emotional bonding on the page, but overall, I enjoyed the story. The author also includes a fun, steamy scene.
I appreciate the mental health rep, therapy-positive perspective, and useful coping techniques.
Rowan Unfolded is a lighthearted, fun, and flirty romance with a feel-good ending and setup for the rest of the series.
I also appreciate the author's vulnerability in the acknowledgments and the explanation of how their own experiences are reflected in the characters.

Great Novella! I enjoyed the pacing, it didn’t feel rushed. I really enjoy the writing style of this author. I can feel the emotions of the characters. It’s like I am right there with them in the story. The best part was the surprise ending!
