How the Night Hunts: Book One of the Riven Bonded Series

He is engineered to be her executioner.

She built herself to withstand violence.

People are hunted for cash. Bounties selected. Targets acquired. The wealthy get paid. Blood is worth more than gold in this economy, and Avyanna knows the taste of it well.

Avyanna and her twin brother, Griffin, are marked with bounties of their own. Surviving through gritted teeth and deadly accuracy, Avyanna knows nothing else, save for never being seen, never being weak, and never trusting anyone powerful enough to destroy her.

Ronan is designed to do exactly that.

Instincts build on blood, and broken into subordination, Ronan only knows violence. The top-ranked Killer within the system, zero failures, he is death incarnate. The bleeder of life. That is, until he meets eyes of green, and for the first time, he lowers his weapon.

Through surviving with bloody targets on their backs, Avyanna and Griffin discover a hidden database concealing an army of enhanced Killers, set on one thing, and one thing alone.

Complete eradication of the lower class. Of Avyanna.

These Killers are set on destruction, and Avyanna’s life is now more than blood money and surviving the bounty system. It’s about how she can destroy an army of weapons given flesh. Trusting a perfected instrument of death might just keep Avyanna alive. But, loving Ronan could cost her everything she’s killed to protect.

How the Night Hunts will appeal to lovers of feral men, hidden bonds, and found family. It will draw in readers of The Book of Azrael by Amber V. Nicole and those drawn to brutal power dynamics and lethal bonds like those in Rebecca Yarros’s Fourth Wing.

Elements in this story has mature themes. Read with care.

WOW! How do I even put into words how awesome this book was? I am a huge fan of dystopian fiction and this was such a unique take on it. From the very start, you are sucked into this dystopian world where you either the hunted or you are the one being hunted. It has a unique class system of control, in which humans are made into weapons and predators. It is face paced, easy to understand, and the imagery is fantastic. I am awful at visualizing stories and so I really loved this about the book. The roller coaster of emotions and intense situations had me on the edge of my seat. The romance aspect was my favorite. I could quite literally feel their tension as I was reading it. If you like your mmcs feral, protective and intense, Ronan is your guy. Avyanna was such a fierce and strong fmc; yet she was vulnerable and tender where it was needed.

This book had so much depth; I absolutely did not want it to end. The ending? Gahhhhh I need book 2 now!
