Shattered Royalty

Rate this book
I had everything a girl could ever want. A handsome prince who adored me, and together, we were in the beginning stages of trying for a baby.

My life was a literal fairy tale.

Until suddenly, it wasn’t.

In the span of a single breath, my world came crashing down.

Dreams of a future family turn into a nightmare, and the secret I’m forced to carry has the potential to not only ruin my marriage but blow up the entire monarchy.

*Shattered Royalty is the fourth book in the Remington Royals series, even though the events take place before Book 1. It is highly recommended to read Books 1-3 before enjoying Shattered Royalty to avoid spoilers.

Siena Trap

Siena is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where a love of sports is bred into a girl's DNA. Her love of romance novels came early as well. She would often accompany her romance reviewer mom to book lovers' and romance writers' conventions, where she sat in on workshops and met numerous best-selling authors. It wasn't long before she was filling notebooks with her own stories, which often starred herself and a certain real-life prince.

As luck would have it, she met and married a handsome athlete instead. After several temporary residencies in multiple states and Germany, they finally settled in Michigan, the land where youth hockey reigns supreme.

Her stories no longer feature herself but draw from her past experiences as an educator, businesswoman, fashion consultant, and world traveler when creating her strong heroines. “Oh yes,” she says with a wink and a smile, “There are bits of me in all of them.” Now, she spends her days writing happily ever afters for fictional characters and her evenings at the local hockey arenas cheering for her three children.

This is a quick and hard hitting story, but there are so many incredible layers to it. Love, tragedy, the beauty of reconnection, and ultimately finding solace and safety in the person you chose all over again.

There is so much to be said about Adrian and Addie's story. It's one of love, hurt, navigating fear and strength at the same time. Addie is so incredibly soft, yet has a strength that I don't even think she realized she was capable of. The heartbreaking moments after her attack, convinced that she's no longer worthy of Adrian or someone he could even want, absolutely broke me. But her inner strength truly shined through. I loved watching her fight for herself, and ultimately the love of her life and the family they were destined to create.

Adrian, my god, that man is something else. Protective, loving, intense, so incredibly soft for the woman who owns his heart. There was never any doubts from Adrian in the face of what they have to go through, there was never a moment in his mind where he was going to give Addie up. And even when she was scared, when she made it difficult, when she was uncertain he stood strong in his love for her, in his belief of them as a couple and truly kept them going through it all.

I absolutely loved this story, Siena Trap gave us something incredibly sensitive and painful, and walked us through it with care and a gentleness that I wasn't expecting.

While this book is short, seeing where the Remington Family truly began, is worth the ride. Vulnerable, emotional, and filled with so much love. I adore Addie and Adrian.

It has been A LONG TIME since I have read the Remington Royals series, and this prequel novella has just HIT ME IN THE FEELS taking me RIGHT BACK to when I was first reading them! AHHH!

We FINALLY have some insight to Adrian and Adelaide and OH MY GOD! What they went through?! MY HEART BROKE FOR THEM. But MY GUY Adrian was standing strong and loved Addy with ALL OF HIS HEART, that no matter what happened he was going to be there. I loved their relationship before and even after the incident and how as a silver lining it made them so much stronger. Their chemistry of course, was FUCKING SPICY AND HOT AS FUCK. I wanted to wrap Addy in a giant blanket burrito, but she was STRONG AS FUCK going through what she did and coming through on the other side GO BITCH!

Every time a story or series comes to an end I am SO EXCITED for what’s instore next for Siena and I CAN’T WAIT!

I cannot wait to read the rest of the series! I know I’m going backwards, but lord I’m so glad I did!

This book makes you angry, happy, sad, mad, pissed, I mean every emotion you can think of!!!

Adrian and Addy truly are the best of friends and have the best bond. Their love you can just feel radiating off every page.
You can feel their love, banter, and sadness. All of it.
And then you can feel the sorrow and closeness slip away when Addy is involved in an incident.

She goes through so so much in a year, but Adrian never leaves her side. He stays strong in his love for Addy and never wavers.

Do they get their happy endearing? You’ll have to see! 😬

5/5⭐️, 1.5/5🌶️

-First Person POV: Dual
-Soulmates
-Royal Romance
-Surprise Pregnancy
-Marriage in Crisis

I could tell right from the start that Adrian would be the guy we knew Addy would need. He never left her side regardless of what happened. And he was so sweet to her. Addy is such a sweet heart who went through a really horrible thing but came out on the other side.
This was the perfect way to bring me right back into the Remington Royals series. There was a part of me that missed them and I’m so glad I got to read this to connect the rest of the dots for me.
It was a quick read and had me in my feels for sure.

Check the TW’s prior to reading. Otherwise I recommend!

First and foremost, please check your triggers. I loved Addy and Adrian. The topic in this story was handled and told with such care and respect. I have wanted this story since I read the Remington Royalty trilogy and it did not dissapoint. The love Adrian has for Addy through the hardships they faced is the type of love I would think everyone would want. Im excited to see what Siena does next.

This is a heart-shattering novella! What an emotional read! I wasn’t sure what I was getting into but it’s not all hearts and rainbows and you should absolutely check the trigger warnings. Despite the hardships, I really liked the way some things were described close to reality.

Prince Adrian and his wife Addy are enjoying their happy marriage until they experience a life-changing dark moment.
We see their struggle to get over it while admiring their character strength and the power of their love. Adrian is simply amazing.

Overall: 4.5/5 ⭐️ for me.

I received this book as an arc exchange for an honest review.

Oh my gosh I absolutely love Adrian, the way he loved Addy was absolutely incredible. He was ready to give up everything for her. I love how he was like that’s our baby! I could not put this down. I absolutely love Adrian and Addy together. I do wish that this book was longer as I absolutely loved this couple. I can’t wait until a new Siena Trap book comes out

I'm putting three stars because it is a middle-of-the-road review, and I personally don't know if I should go higher or lower because there are a lot of factors to consider.

Caution, there may be some spoilers ahead.

1. The story as a novella. I thought this was a fine story and great background information for the Remington Royal series. Was it necessary? No, but it's always nice to have additional information. We got enough details in the original books of the series, especially Playing Pretend with the Prince and Feuding with the Fashion Princess, to understand the story behind Leo and his relationship with the Remington family, as well as what happened to Addy. Therefore, a story that went more in-depth about the trauma Addy had to face wasn't necessary, but it's a great bonus for readers who like as much of the plot as possible.
It started off strong, with Adrian and Addy already one year into their marriage, and the spice hit hard and fast and was immediately followed by her assault. The rest of the book was really just the telling of her mental state and surviving the pregnancy.
Here is my issue. For those of us who have Kindle Unlimited, this is a great addition to the story as the book is included with the monthly fee that we pay. However, if you don't have a Kindle or don't use one, you have to pay for this book. While it isn't expensive at all, it isn't a story I'd return to and read again, so spending almost $3 on it feels like a rip-off. If it were just a tad shorter, I think it would be a great free book to offer to Siena's newsletter subscribers.

2. I need more plot. Okay, so let's say that you do want to charge people to buy it or keep it on KU. Please make it longer and include more information. When this book was originally announced, I thought it would tell the love story of Adrian and Addy; instead, it started with them already married, and their courtship was reduced to a single page of information. I was hoping for a few chapters of their love story, meeting, wooing, all that good lovey-dovey stuff. The courtship could have taken up a good 35-40% of the book and then dedicated the next 10-15% to Addy adjusting to royal life in their first year of marriage, and then have the next 35-40% be her trauma and pregnancy and the last 10-15% is the growth of their family with Liam and Lucy, leaving the epilogue and bonus epilogue to the childhood and teen years of the Remington children.
That is the full type of novella I could see justifying spending my money on.

While this is a prequel to Scoring the Princess, set about 31 or 32 years earlier, I fully understand why it is #3.5 in the series. Normally, I like reading book in chronological order of the plot timeline, however, in this case, you do need to read it in order of publication because, if you read this book first, the plot twists in Playing Pretend with the Prince and Feuding with the Fashion Princess, will be revealed.

Thank you to Siena and team for allowing me to read an ARC copy of this book.

I don’t even know how to act after this book. I’m just sitting here staring at the wall like I’ve personally been through a royal scandal and need a minute to recover.

Shattered Royalty did not come to play. It came to emotionally devastate me, stitch me back together, and then do it AGAIN just for fun.

Addy and Adrian?? I am RUINED over them.

At the start, everything feels like a literal dream. The fairytale setup is so soft and glowing you almost want to curl up inside it. A prince who adores his wife. A marriage built on love. Plans for a baby. It’s all so tender and hopeful that you just know something is about to go horribly, spectacularly wrong… and when it does??? IT HITS LIKE A COLLAPSING PALACE.

The shift in this story is brutal in the best way. One second you’re wrapped in warmth, the next you’re drowning in secrets, pressure, and that suffocating feeling of “there’s no way out of this without everything breaking.”

And Addy… oh my heart. The weight she carries??? The kind of secret that doesn’t just threaten a relationship but an entire monarchy?? I felt that in my bones. The fear, the guilt, the isolation. Watching her try to hold everything together while quietly falling apart inside was just… gutting.

And Adrian?? Don’t even get me started.

He’s not just a prince, he’s a man who loves deeply, fiercely, and completely. But he’s also bound by duty, legacy, expectation… and those things clash HARD with love when the truth starts to unravel. The push and pull between his heart and his crown?? I was internally screaming. The tension between what he feels and what he has to do made every scene feel like it was balancing on a knife’s edge.

Their relationship goes through it. And I mean THROUGH IT. This isn’t surface-level angst, this is deep, messy, complicated, soul-shaking emotion. The kind where you don’t know if love is going to survive the truth… but you desperately need it to.

The drama?? Immaculate.
The emotional damage?? Severe.
The investment level?? Unhealthy.

And yet somehow, through all the heartbreak and chaos, there’s still this thread of love that refuses to snap. It stretches, it strains, it nearly breaks… but it’s there, fighting.

This book feels bigger than just a romance. It’s about love under pressure, identity, sacrifice, and what happens when the life you thought you had shatters into something unrecognizable.

I devoured this like I needed answers to survive. And when everything finally comes together?? The payoff hit so hard I had to just sit there and process my existence for a second.

If you want:
• royal romance with actual stakes
• secrets that feel explosive
• emotional angst that hurts so good
• a love story that gets dragged through fire

…this is it. This is the one.

Addy and Adrian own me now. The crown? Irrelevant. My loyalty? Permanently theirs. 👑

Newly married royals Addy and Adrian were on cloud nine after their whirlwind romance. But when a tragic event turns everything upside down, they’re forced to come to terms with a new version of their happily ever after…one that truly tests what “through thick and thin” actually means.

This is the spinoff novella for the Remington Royals series and I cannot stress this enough…PLEASE read the main series first. That’s exactly what I did and ended up binging the first three books just to get the full experience and honestly? SO worth it, maximum emotional damage in the best way possible! 😭 Because going into this knowing Addy and Adrian as the parents who raised those characters and then seeing the events that really impacted the whole series just hits so much harder. Can I just start off by saying that getting a glimpse into their early lives felt like such a privilege but also heartbreak at the same time.

“The rest of the world would have to be blind not to notice that you’re one of a kind, Addy.”

Adrian, good Lord this man is truly the best husband. The way he loved Addy, the way he showed up, and especially how he dealt with everything, you can see how they became the kind of parents they were. They left no stone unturned to give their future child the best life possible. And Addy…ugh I LOVE this woman. After seeing her in the main series as this incredible mom and mother-in-law, it was so emotional to see everything she went through to become that person. She’s strong, kind, and just genuinely good to her core.

The book is short, but it felt like such a necessary glimpse into their story. Their love really did conquer everything, and you can see how that love shaped the family we come to know in the main series. It wasn’t one of those stiff royal arranged marriages tied to duty, no. It was real, messy, passionate, and very much a special kind of love.

“My love for you eclipses everything else.”

I also loved all the little details that added to the Remington lore…Lucy’s middle name backstory, finally meeting Queen Eleanor, and just getting those small moments that tie everything together. It really made the story feel fuller. The book also really got me thinking about the whole nature vs nurture thing. Addy and Adrian are just genuinely good people, and it’s so clear that that goodness carried through to their children and not so much when nature took over.

Overall, this felt like the closure we needed, while also reminding me how much I love this family. And I’m so glad this isn’t the last we’ll see of them, because I am not ready to say goodbye to this endearing, loving royal family just yet.

This story hit me in that quiet, aching place where love and pain live side by side. From the very beginning, there is a sense that this relationship is something rare, something deeply rooted, but also something under pressure. The connection between these two feels like it was always meant to be, which makes everything they face together feel that much heavier. It is not just romance, it is partnership, history, and the kind of love that has already been tested long before the story even begins.

What really stayed with me is how this explores a marriage in crisis without ever losing sight of the love underneath it. There is hurt here, and fear, and the kind of silence that builds when two people are trying to protect each other while slowly drifting apart. But even in those moments, you can feel the bond holding on. The emotional tension does not come from whether they love each other. It comes from whether that love is enough to carry them through what they are facing. That distinction makes everything feel more real, more intimate, and honestly a little harder to read in the best way.

The surprise pregnancy adds another layer of vulnerability, not just as a plot point but as something that forces both of them to confront what they want their future to look like. It brings hope, but also pressure, and watching them navigate that while already standing on shaky ground adds so much emotional weight. And through all of it, the hero remains this soft, steady presence. He is gentle, patient, and so clearly devoted, even when everything feels like it is slipping. That cinnamon roll energy is not just sweet, it is grounding, and it makes every moment of connection feel even more meaningful.

What makes this story linger is how honest it feels about love not always being easy. It does not pretend that soulmates means effortless. Instead, it shows that sometimes love is choosing each other over and over again, even when things are complicated, even when it hurts. The emotional depth here is undeniable, and the way it balances heartbreak with hope makes it incredibly impactful.

By the end, I felt that deep, emotional fullness that only comes from a story that truly earns its resolution. It is tender, heavy, and ultimately hopeful in a way that stays with you long after the final page.

“Shattered Royalty” is the fourth and final book in “The Remington Royals” series. This is the story of Adrian and Adelaide, Liam and Lucy’s parents. Crown Prince Adrian Remington had been Belleston’s most eligible bachelor. Handsome, rich, and set to one day inherit his father’s crown. Every young woman dreamed of becoming his bride. He chose Adelaide, aka Addy….the daughter of an Earl who ran in the same social circles. “Sparks flew, and we spent more time talking than eating. A few stolen kisses in a hidden alcove later, and he asked for my number.”

Within a few weeks our official courtship was announced and less than a year latter they were engaged. Next came the wedding….”I was walking down the aisle toward the love of my life, in a ridiculously gorgeous white dress, while the whole world watched on through their television screens.”

Who said fairy tale dream come true….their life together was idealistic. During the day they attended royal duties….the nights belonged to them. “Personally, I loved both sides he exhibited, and I was an eager pupil whenever he suggested exploring a new position or kink.” Their life together is ideal until Addy is attacked and raped when out on a run. Will there marriage survive the attack? Will Addy survive mentally when she finds out that is pregnant?

This story will make you laugh, it will make you cry….most of all, you will be hoping that Addy recovers both mentally and physically. “That’s easy. Because he’s part of you, and you’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever known, both inside and out.” I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful love story, with all the ups, the downs, the friendship, the heartaches and most of all, what love can overcome. From page to page, chapter to chapter, from cover to cover - you will enjoy this beautiful story! This book will not disappoint! Highly recommended 😊

This prequel to the Remington Royals series gives a heartwrenching insight into Adelaide (Addy) and Adrian’s relationship. Royal or not, Addy and Adrian are enjoying being newlyweds. In the privacy of their rooms, duty, royal standing and life outside the palace walls take second place to their intimate relationship. Both hope a new heir to the throne, a baby of their own, will soon be on its way. They are just so in love and ridiculously happy until a horrifying incident seems to shatter their happy, safe and secure bubble.

In the aftermath of the incident, both Adrian and Addy are mired in fear, sorrow and anger. To make things infinitely worse, they are not facing the tumultuous situation together as team. Addy is mired in her own pain, left to face the demons without Adrian by her side (by her own choice), and struggling to find some shred of peace and optimism. Adrian is on the sidelines, watching and hoping that Addy will let him in and that together they can find their way past all of the pain and chaos.

It is impossible not to admire and love Addy and Adrian. In the face of an extremely difficult situation, they deal with the fear and the pain, and fight their way back to each other. Even when their love doesn’t seem to be strong enough to get them through everything, hope and the will to fight for it is not lost. His mother’s support of Addy has gained my admiration as well. She is Addy’s rock and guiding light through the worst of the emotional storm. This very emotional and rather inspiring book has my heartfelt recommendation. Please do check the trigger warnings before reading this book.

👑ARC REVIEW👑

Shattered Royalty is a novella about the parents of the Remington Royals’ Series main characters, Addy and Adrian. I haven’t read their children's stories, but Siena’s writing made me invested in the parents' challenging journey and character development.

Addy and Adrian were commemorating their first wedding anniversary and anticipating the possibility of starting a family when Addy was assaulted by an unknown individual. This traumatic event is undeniably transformative in nature. The incident occurred during Addy's morning run, affecting not only her but also Adrian, his parents, and the medical professionals involved in her care. Additionally, the ramifications of the attack extend further, as it also impacts the crown, leading to the emergence of new complexities and secrets surrounding the case.

Prior to Addy's run, she and Adrian were intimate both the evening before and the morning of the incident. Eight weeks later, Addy was confirmed to be pregnant. The revelation carries significant implications and raises the question: who is the father?

Siena handled Addy and Adrian’s mental health exceptionally well. I appreciated how Adrian’s mother, Eleanora, showed genuine compassion for both her son and her daughter-in-law, offering support to them. The story is captivating and full of depth, taking readers on an emotional journey at breakneck speed. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am excited to read about their children as well.

Oh this story. This story brought the Remington series full circle to me. I love this series. These characters, this family are my favorite and hold a special place in my heart.

I loved Addy through the entire Remington series. She was an amazing woman especially with Natalie but also her own childen too. But to see how she was with Natalie after now fully knowing her story just amazes me even more. Addy was an amazing mother-in-law and I love that she had an incredible mother-in-law herself that she was able to learn from and be there to help and support her in the darkest time then she got to pay it forward with Natalie in the same way. I just love how Siena made this full circle.

While I loved Addy throughout the series, the one who really shined in this book was Adrian. I knew from the series that he was a good man and that he loved Addy, but man you really got to see it in this book. I loved getting to see his true and steadfast love for Addy. This is the kind of love you want to find in life. Someone who is going to love you unconditionally and stay through the hardest and darkest times.

These and their relationship was truly just so incredibly beautiful from beginning to end. I loved getting to see how their relationship and marriage started and then also getting to read it throughout the series to see still just how in love and devoted Adrian and Addy were to each other. I wanted their story from the first time I read Scoring the Princess and I am so happy Siena gave us this.

If you haven't read the Remington Royal series, please do. It is an amazing series.

✨ Book Review: Shattered Royalty by Siena Trap ✨

POV: you’re living a literal fairytale… until one secret destroys everything 👑💔

She had it ALL—
A prince who loved her.
A marriage people envied.
And dreams of starting a family…

Then in a single moment???
Everything shatters.

This book is heavy on the emotional damage 😮‍💨

What starts as a perfect royal love story quickly turns into something much darker—secrets, betrayal, and consequences that don’t just affect a marriage… but an entire monarchy 👀

We’ve got:
✨ royal romance gone wrong
✨ marriage in crisis
✨ devastating secrets
✨ emotional, high-stakes drama
✨ “perfect life” unraveling

The FMC’s journey??? Heartbreaking.
You feel her confusion, her pain, and the weight of carrying something that could destroy everything she loves.

And the tension in the relationship??
Yeah… it’s not soft or easy. It’s raw, messy, and real.

This story really leans into:
👉 how fast everything can change
👉 the pressure of maintaining a perfect image
👉 and the cost of secrets in a world where everything is watched

It’s giving:
Fairytale… but make it tragic 💔

If you love:
• royal drama 👑
• emotional, angsty romance
• secrets that change EVERYTHING
• marriage-in-crisis storylines

This one will have you stressed and invested 😭

Be honest… do you protect the crown… or tell the truth and risk losing everything?

If you’re going into Shattered Royalty expecting a light royal romance… yeah, no. This one comes in swinging with emotion and doesn’t really let up—in the best way.

At its core, this is Adrian and Addy’s story, and honestly? It feels like peeling back layers of something fragile but fierce. There’s heartbreak woven all through it, but it’s balanced with those soft, swoony moments that make you pause and go okay, this is why I love romance.

What really stood out is how heavy the emotional side is. This isn’t just drama for the sake of it—there’s genuine pain, healing, and growth. You can feel that everything between them is earned, even when it’s messy. And it does get messy. But that’s kind of the point.

Adrian gives that strong, protective energy (with just enough vulnerability underneath to make you melt), while Addy brings the emotional depth. Together, they’re intense without being over-the-top, and their connection feels real—even when it hurts a bit to read.

It’s also a nice return to the Remington world if you’ve read the series, with that mix of royalty, pressure, and behind-the-scenes chaos that keeps things interesting.

Overall vibe:

* Emotional and a little heavy
* Soft but powerful romance
* Healing + heartbreak + hope
* Not overly complicated, but definitely feels something

This one isn’t just a love story—it’s more of a put-yourself-back-together story with romance wrapped around it. You’ll probably feel a bit wrecked… but in a satisfying way.

OMG my heart absolutely ached for Addy and Adrian. Going back to Belleston and seeing where everything started in this novella? Emotional damage… respectfully 😭

Even though we know what happens (thanks to the later books 👀), actually experiencing it unfold hits completely different. Watching the moments, the choices, the fallout… it just adds a whole new layer of heartbreak.

You could feel everything they were going through —
💔 pain
🔥 passion
💞 love
😮‍💨 longing
🥀 hurt

…and yet somehow, the intimacy between them never disappeared.

Addy struggling with feeling like she wasn’t enough for Adrian? That BROKE me. Especially when he kept showing her, over and over again, that he wasn’t going anywhere 🥹

Her leaning on her mother-in-law during her pregnancy made so much sense emotionally… but knowing how deeply that hurt Adrian? Oof. That tension was palpable.

And let’s talk about Adrian for a second —
✨ those Remington Blues ✨
Sir really had everyone (Natalie, Amy… even Preston 👀) in a chokehold 😂

We do get a happily ever after for Addy and Adrian… but the kids?
Yeah… IFYKYK 🫠
And if you don’t know… go read the Remington Royals Series immediately.

ARC Review ❤️
Thank you Siena Trap and her team for providing me with this ARC.

This one is a short book that gives us a glimpse into the lives of a young Addie and Adrain Remington. Although it is recommended to read the other books in the series first, you could still read this one first if you do not mind some spoilers.

Once again Siena was able to write such an incredibly sensitive topic with empathy and compassion. This book is quite emotional. It was truly heartbreaking to read the parts where Addie felt she was not worthy of Adrian. Also those parts where Adrian was overcome with emotions. It made their story so raw and real.

I’m giving this book a 4 star read. Not because of the writing, Siena always does an amazing job of keeping me engaged in the story and I really enjoy her writing style.
Without spoiling, I just wish the ending was different. I can’t say more without ruining the book so I will leave it very vague. This is just my personal want for Addie and Adrian.

I encourage you to read this book. Although it is a very short book, it is packed with emotion and vulnerability that make it an amazing story.

We are back in this world and wow—Shattered Royalty absolutely wrecked me in the best way.

Addy and Adrian… where do I even start. These two are endgame in every sense of the word—completely, undeniably gone for each other. The kind of love that feels unshakable… until life comes in and shatters everything. And when I say tragedy, I mean the kind that seeps into every page and makes your chest ache while you’re reading.

Watching Addy spiral and try to push Adrian away? Painful. Like, I wanted to shake her and hug her at the same time. And Adrian—this man refuses to give up. He is so determined to not lose the love of his life that it almost breaks him too. It’s messy, it’s raw, and it feels real. This isn’t some easy love story—it’s a full-on battle of wills, emotions, and survival.

What I loved most is that their love isn’t perfect. It’s tested in every possible way, stretched to its limits, and still… it holds. Somehow, through all the heartbreak and chaos, love wins. And it feels earned.

This book is heavy, emotional, and will absolutely put you through it—but if you love a couple that fights for each other just as hard as they fight with each other, this one is it.

✨ ARC REVIEW ✨

It’s been such a long time since I last read the Remington Royals series, and this prequel novella completely pulled me right back into that world. It gave me all the nostalgia while also hitting me emotionally in the best (and most painful) way.

Finally getting deeper insight into Adrian and Adelaide was everything I didn’t know I needed. What they went through was heartbreaking, and I genuinely felt for both of them. Adrian’s unwavering love and loyalty stood out so much—no matter what happened, he was all in for Addy, and that kind of devotion made their story even more powerful. Seeing how their relationship endured and even grew stronger after everything was really moving.

Their chemistry? Absolutely intense—fiery, passionate, and impossible to ignore. At the same time, Adelaide’s strength was incredible. Even when everything seemed stacked against her, she pushed through, and it made me admire her so much more as a character.
This novella perfectly balances emotional depth with romance, and it reminded me why I loved this series in the first place. If anything, it just made me even more excited to see what’s coming next.

**Check your trigger warnings with this one!!!!**

If you've read the original three in the Remington Royal series, you already know the big bad that's going to happen to poor Addy. This little prequel is about the Royal couple Addy and Adrian. They're riding high on their first year of marriage, and now they're getting to work on getting their heir. The one morning, everything comes crashing down around them. I was definitely feeling so sad about Addy's situation. Then the pregnancy throws another challenge into the mix with testing their marriage. Adrian is so strong in never giving up on his wife, no matter how much she tries to push him away. I think how this is written makes it to where you can read this as a prequel or as the book end to the series, which is kinda nice to have that option. This is a really emotional read, so please check the trigger/content warnings beforehand. This is the second time Siena has ended a series with a prequel story of the parents, and she just nailed it again (Before You Can Blink from the Rust Canyon series was my favorite read of 2025). Can't wait to see where we go next with a new series.

I have read a few of Siena Trap’s books and I really enjoy the way she hooks you in with something tragic or unexpected and keeps you hooked with the different emotions crazy situations the characters get caught in. Shattered Royalty definitely starts with a tragic situation and quickly progresses into a more heartfelt story as you continue reading.

This is the first book in the Remington Royals series that I have read and I didn’t feel like I HAD to read the others to get the gist of what was happening in this book. I would like to re-read after reading the other books in the series to see if I change my mind but i definitely feel like this book can be read as a standalone.

My one complaint about this book was that the ending felt a little rushed and unfinished. I liked the epilogues but I felt like the first epilogue just created more questions about Leo and the family’s future. I felt like I was waiting for a big plot twist to include Addy’s attacker but it never came.

Overall, I liked this book but it is not my favorite Siena Trap book. I appreciate the ARC opportunity and look forward to reading the next story Siena Trap has for us. 😊

🌟ARC Read🌟

Okay, so I’ve read a few of Siena’s books, but I haven’t actually read the full series this belongs to. I do know some things about the royal family though. This book is set before the other three books, so it works as a prequel. I went in kind of blind, only knowing that Addy and Adrian are the parents in the series.

Please, please check your triggers before going into this. This book absolutely broke my heart.

We follow Addy and Adrian. He is the heir and prince of Belleston, and he marries Addy in what feels like a whirlwind love story.

Things start to get difficult when they are trying for an heir, and then something truly awful happens that completely changes the course of their lives. The story does such a great job showing both sides of this heartbreaking event, and you really feel for both of them.

I loved that Adrian never gave up on her and kept showing up no matter what. That really got me. I also loved his mother and the role she played in helping put Addy back together.

Such a powerful and emotional prequel.

Let me start by saying this book is very well written and the delicate topic is handled wonderfully.

I love a prequel featuring parents. It’s so lovely to get a glimpse of the love that created the characters we already know and love. And I adore a love story with an established couple but working through a difficult period and choosing their love over all the bad times.

My one beef, and this is totally a me thing, but I felt nothing for the pregnancy and birth scene. I usually love a pregnancy trope and get all emotional and stuff, especially when the MMC gets all mushy and feral over his pregnant wife. I’m wild for it! But I think in this case it’s because we already know the man that baby grows up to be and I just couldn’t bring myself to be excited or get those gushy, teary emotions knowing how Leo turns out later on.

In all, this quick little novella is up to Mrs Trap’s usual standard of amazingly well done and perfect for readers who love a devoted husband, trauma healing, and pregnancy trope.

Shattered Royalty Review 👑

I received an ARC for this book, so I want to thank Siena Trap and her team for sending me this book.

I have already read the three books previous to this one, but this is kind of like the origin of the stories.

Addy and Adrian are living their best lives, they are married, in love, in training to be the queen and the king of Belleston, the only thing that is missing is an heir.

Until, one day, Addy is attacked and the perfect lives they know, os shattered forever, she is left beat up, assaulted and Adrian can’t do anything to help the woman he loves the most in the world.

This book is about hurt, but is also about the journey to be good again, is about not giving up for the people you love, is about supporting them in the good, in the bad, in sickness and in health.

After what they went through, Adrian and Addy are capable of anything, together they can go through hell and back. I will give this book a 4,5 ⭐️ only because I wished it was a bit longer, showing us a little more of them in their kids stories. 👑

This is the last book in the series, but is the story of where they all began. A prequel featuring Addy and Adrian. A beautiful beginning of love and royalty seems like a dream come true until it isn’t. One tragic, nightmare moment that changes everything.
Heartbreaking and devastating for both the MC in very different ways but the way Adrian is fully supportive even when it feels like the wrong way to go, he gives Addy anything and everything he can to help her through it all. It is not an easy or simple circumstance that gets resolved quickly, but a true reality for some that is a true journey that will never truly end.
They get through each moment the best they can and as they do it together, they realize that together, they can and will continue moving forward.
They do get a HEA and we get a glimpse of how things played out and why they may have turned out the way they did with this book.
It will rip your heart out and piece it back together and it was the story I didn’t know I needed.

Shattered Royalty by Siena Trap

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
🌶️🌶️

Shattered Royalty is the novella you didn’t realise you needed. It gives readers the long-awaited backstory of Queen Addy and King Adrian from the Remington Royals series, finally revealing the moment from their past that’s been hinted at throughout the other books.

I’d always been curious about what really happened between them and how they both dealt with the aftermath, and this story answers those questions in such a satisfying way. Seeing a more vulnerable side of both Addy and Adrian added extra depth to their characters and made their bond even more meaningful.

Even though it’s a shorter story, it still delivers the emotion, tension, and connection that makes this series so addictive. It was the perfect way to fill in the gaps of their story and a fantastic addition to the Remington Royals world—definitely a must-read for fans of the series.
