Jackeline was a kid when she experienced the traumatic catastrophe of an EF5 tornado. Now, years later, on the verge of graduating high school, she still carries that weight with her. She dreams of becoming a meteorologist to better understand these storms, but has been acting out and getting into trouble.
As punishment for her antics, her parents sent her off to her grandfather's farm for a summer of discipline. She hasn't been to that rural Oklahoma town since the incident, and being back brings back strong memories. As she struggles with making new friends as an outsider, she discovers signs that lead to meeting a mysterious entity on the farm, one that promises to help her out if she helps it out
Immediate applause for the two dogs being safe and never being hurt! Always super important to me. This book had me all over the place, in a good way! I didn’t expect the type of entity we were dealing with, and I’m disappointed in myself because even I fell for its convincing. And oh man, once this thing revealed its true intent, it was some of the scariest and best stuff I’ve read.
