A family. A loss. A purge that sweeps the world.Life couldn't be better for Story Rhys. As long as she ignores the choking anxiety caused by a murderer's random visits, a surgical schedule that's a race against the clock, and her younger sister Lark's declining health. A surprise upends her life, forcing a change in her plans and demanding new security measures.

Despite these overwhelming odds, Story pushes forward. She's determined to save as many Irontrace as possible, proving with each successful surgery that her method can save Lark too. Then a crisis sweeps the world in the form of a familial purge. Homes are torn apart and society is reshaped overnight. Story's husband, Ivan, leads a team, racing to stop the chaos. His fight becomes personal when the purge hits the Rhys family in a way no one saw coming.

Fresh consequences stack against his beloved wife and new lives, leaving scars that will last a lifetime. When time-tested strategies fail to find a fix, Ivan is pushed to work outside of The Irontrace to bring his beloved Story back from the brink, clinging to the truth that keeps him his love for her is unconditional.

As the most beautiful parts of Ivan's world are torn away, he's left to answer an impossible question by himself. What do you do when Malice threatens to consume you?

This is book two of The Irontrace Saga. It's a fabulous standalone, but I'd recommend reading Malformation, book one, first to learn more about the characters and world.

Malice unfortunately wasn't quite the book for me. I went into this one thinking it would be right up my alley, but I found myself struggling to get into the story and, at times, getting a little lost in the writing.

That being said, there were definitely things I appreciated. I really loved Ivan's love and devotion to Story. Their relationship carries a lot of emotional weight, and there were some genuinely heartfelt moments throughout the book. The story explores grief, anxiety, loss and the lengths people will go to for the people they love, and I could see why those elements resonated so strongly with other readers.

The dystopian and medical-thriller elements also made for an interesting combination, with technology, corruption and medicine all playing a role in the story, I just found the medical and tech jargon a bit much, and it pulled me from the story.
There is a lot happening beneath the romance, and the emotional stakes become particularly heavy as the story progresses.

One thing I would recommend to readers is reading the first book before starting this one. I personally think that having the background from the first book would have made it much easier to understand the characters and everything happening around them.

Ultimately, this wasn't a book that worked for me personally, but I can absolutely appreciate the heart behind the story and the emotional journey that Story and Ivan go through.

Please also check the trigger/content warnings before reading, as this book deals with some heavy themes

Okay this was a ride!
I did not expect Malice to get me that invested. Medicine, tech, corruption… an entire dystopian world yet in the middle of it is a love story. There is love, grief, anxiety, loss and that horrible feeling of watching everything main characters built is about to fall apart .
I really liked the whole dystopian side of the story. The entire plot was great and a little unsettling. Tension? Definitely.
My only issue was that some of the medical and technological parts got a bit too technical for me.
Definitely read the first book before this one though! I think you need that background to really understand everything happening here.
Overall, such an interesting mix of dystopian, medical thriller and romance.

This is the first series I have read set in a futuristic medical setting. I will admit at first I was skeptical, but the more the story unfolded and I actually got invested into the book the author did an amazing job! | might have stayed up all night just to binge read it. The highs and lows of this book will definitely keep you on your toes and second guessing everything. If you love a book that is fast paced, action packed, has robots, with romance all mixed in you need to add this series to your TBR.

How far would you go to save the love of your life? Ivan is willing to do anything to save Story, this romance, sci-fi, medical drama has it all. I feel if I had read the first book in the series I would have a better understanding of the back story of the characters but overall it was also an amazing standalone.

I have just read Malice by T. S. Night from Kindle Unlimited. Wow! This is a rollercoaster of a ride of a story. It's Book 2 in a series and it really helps explain things of you read Book 1 first.

Malice is a twisty turny novel with strong characters, bout likeable and hateable. It is set in the year 2050 where robots are taking over and the government is corrupt. The main characters of Dr. Story Rhys and her husband Ivan Rhys have backgrounds in Medicine and technology. Story is a respected and genius doctor and Ivan is a powerful tech guru who helps Story by creating robots to who can aid with surgeries and clinical assessment.

Story and Ivan are very much in love with each other and have a whole life together planned as long as they can fight Moulson, a dangerous tyrant.

The twist in this book came as a shock to me and it devestates the main couple. Will they recover and unite once more? Or will Moulson triumph is driving them apart?

Malice gets 4 stars out of 5 from me. It's an excellent book just a little too technical in places for my personal enjoyment. It really is riveting and a stunning read.

Malice is unlike any book I've read in years. Even though I read constantly, I'm having trouble placing it in one genre.

Amnesia romance? Medical thriller? Sweet & wholesome romance? Dystopian sci-fi? Tragedy? Yes. It's all of them.

The FMC and MMC are happily married for PARTS of the book. When she becomes a patient of a global purge and has face blindness, she has no idea who the MMC is, and thinks she needs to keep him as far away from her and the baby bump as possible. She's angry and panicky. He's confident he can bring her back-until he sees how sick she really is.

He never gives up. And that cocky, confident, devotion he shows pays off eventually.

But the last few chapters are heartbreak central. One twist after another. CAUTION: Read the trigger warnings and have tissues handy. It's not graphic. But it's very devastating.

The cliffhanger it ends on did make me question if Story and Ivan will ever have any peace. But like Ivan says: maybe in 2051?

This was such a good book! It is book 2 in a series, and it does help if you have read book 1 as you get more information from it. It's a twisty medical dystopian thriller and one you won't want to put down.

You will love Story and Ivan and how smart they are. TS Night does a great job of making you feel like you are in the book with them and experiencing everything alongside them.

This book beautifully shows an accurate representation of someone battling anxiety and loss. I was personally touched in a way I never expected while reading. The way the protagonist carries on through tragedy and heartbreak is an inspiration.
