Struggling to deal with the break down of her relationship, Lorilei Williams faces an even bigger challenge when she is diagnosed with breast cancer.
As Lorilei does her best to cope, she finds an unexpected friend in Lukas Bray, her employer of five years, and discovers an inner strength she never knew existed.
As one relationship breaks down and Lorilei ponders whether anyone will love her with the new scars that grace her body, she finds that Lukas is there for her throughout her journey.
If you believe in love, or ever had your heart broken, you will find yourself lost in this story, as Lorilei matures into a strong young woman, and finds that love can remain a part of her life.
Salty hair, sandy toes, lips too often sipping on white wine, I’m a Bali addict.
Now living on my favourite island, you can usually find me sitting at my favourite table, writing, people watching or gazing at the amazing ocean. Chillidog, our rescue pup, is usually at my feet or running amuck on the beach. I enjoy nothing more than a chilled Pinot Grigio and some sexy Luke Bryan tunes in the background.
Hubby and I sold everything and ran away from the kids….it’s ok they’re old enough to look after themselves! Now, I want to share with you my love of Bali, its people and their culture, and also entice you with my romantic reads. They are steamy, sexy and fun, filled with real-life tales and characters that you’ll fall in love with.
My writing journey began after I was diagnosed and successfully treated for Breast Cancer in 2012. It was my way of sharing my story after so many women had asked what I’d endured. Along with real facts, there is a fictional tale of love. A young woman finding her way, and discovering she can be loved despite the scars that mark her body.
With moderate success, and constant encouragement I have continued to write.
In 2015, Delicate Love, was released with the follow on Delicate Lies released 30th May 2017. The Stonewater Series will comprise of four books, each a standalone in their own right. Delicate Lust and Delicate Life are to follow. My characters have their faults, but the love they find is real.
Also in 2017, I’m hoping to work on a children’s book titled The Adventures of Chillidog.
Chillidog is a Bali dog who stumbled into our restaurant one night and is now one of the most spoilt dogs in Bali. We are both lucky to have found each other, a real character. He’s adventures will surely be entertaining and I can’t wait to share.
Living in Bali is a life long dream for us, we pinch ourselves everyday. If you’re ever visiting Sanur drop in and say hi, you’ll find our restaurant ‘Stiff Chilli’ on Semawang beach in Sanur, Bali.
I'm a new fan of Josephine Brierley :) Despite the gloomy subject of cancer, this story is a heart-warming, uplifting tale. Chasing Butterflies tells the story of Lorilei Williams, who discovers she has breast cancer - but also discovers a new life. I think the author captured the imagery of her emotions perfectly. The story is also filled with characters that evolve and grow. If you believe in love or if your heart has ever been broken, you'll find yourself in the pages of this book....Definitely looking forward to anything else Jo writes.
Some books you read just touch your soul, and Chasing Butterflies is one of those rare books. It gave me goosebumps. I felt like I was living Lorilei’s story. Cancer is a very touchy subject to write about, and Josephine Brierley did an outstanding job.
Chasing Butterflies is emotional and takes the reader through the stages from the diagnosis, treatment, and outcome. It’s tastefully written, and has the support system you need: family, friends, and significant other. But it’s not just a story of overcoming an illness, it’s a love story. One with crazy ups and downs.
This book is just.......just read it! It’s wonderful. It will melt your heart. This is the first book I’ve read by Josephine, and it most certainly won’t be my last. I consider myself fourtunate to have read Chasing Butterflies.
A great, engrossing story about a young woman coping with a breast cancer diagnosis at the age of 28. I can imagine how difficult this could be for any woman but when you are so young it must be even harder. I admired the cancer/survival aspect of the story. The romance aspect was a bit of a mess but I’m glad a happy ending was found in that Lori finally found her Prince.
