Always the One

“Rochelle French brings both tears and laughter, leaving you breathless for more…lots more!” Virna DePaul, New York Times bestselling author

After five years locked up for a crime she didn't commit, when wild child Coraleen Pettigrew returns home to the small town of Meadowview, it's with a crash and a bang.

Straight and narrow Sheriff Remy Toussaint is up for reelection, but the reappearance of Coraleen and the fact that she can't seem to keep her sexy rear out of jail could cost him the election. Doesn't help that he's falling for the girl who's his opposite in every way.

When the by-the-books sheriff and the former convict connect to prove her innocence, sparks fly and mayhem follows. But after one too many of Coraleen's hijinks threatens Remy's reputation, she's faced with a choice: stay and put Remy's campaign at risk, or leave and break her own heart. Sometimes love means rules can be broken...but will Remy learn this in time to stop Coraleen from leaving Meadowview for good?

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I have mixed feelings about it. I loved the set up, a small town sheriff and a local girl who shows back up in town after spending the last five years in prison. It made for an interesting dynamic.

As I said, this book had potential. And don't get me wrong, it's not a bad book. It's just not great either. Which, in my opinion, is sad because it could have been.

Remy and Coraleen were great characters. I loved their back story...how they met and everything that led up to her going off to prison. They were both good to a fault. Him going above and beyond to uphold the law. And her willing to do anything for those she loved including breaking the law.

What I thought needed work was the execution. There was a lot of repetition of situations and wording. The heroine was in a prison called AZ/PC and that must have been stated at least fifty times in the book. Also, the characters felt the need to continue to refer to the hero by both his first and last name. It felt odd and out of place in a conversation between friends.

I would recommend this book to those who like small town romances with characters willing to go above and beyond for the ones they love.

I cried and I laughed, great book. Coraleen went to prison for a crime she didn't commit and was in love with the Sheriff who arrested her. Very good story!

* I received an ebook in exchange for an honest review. *

I was so excited for this book, but also a bit sad as I knew that after this one I would have to wait (and hope) that another book in this amazing series was going to be written! I didn't want the series to end and was hoping that it wasn't! I have fallen in love with the town of Meadowview and also with the residents!

The author does an amazing job of grabbing the readers attention and holding it from the first page to the last page and all the pages in between! The characters are fun, unique and have personalities that jump out of the pages into the readers lives. The author uses so much detail in describing the town, the residents, the diners & shops and the overall feel of Meadowview that the reader can't help but feel like they are actually a part of the story. It seems like as they are turning the pages of the book that they are right there with their favorite characters or having the bacon muffins at the diner. I can almost smell them through the screen of my kindle!

This book focuses on Sheriff Remy Toussaint and Coraleen Pettigrew - and it starts with a bang (literally)! The reader can't help but root for Coraleen even if she is fresh out of prison and the readers have been waiting for Remy to find "The One" since they met him a few books ago. Can they overcome the odds and find their HEA? Does one mistake ruin everything? Author Rochelle French will keep readers on the edge of their seats with this one and they can't help but want to know what will happen to these 2 amazing characters!

If you haven't read this one or any of the other books in this outstanding, stand-out series don't hesitate to jump right in! You can read this as a standalone but the others are so amazing that you should start at the beginning and you won't need any prodding to keep going from there! Add this one and the previous to your TBR list! You won't be sorry that you did....only sorry when you reach the end and have to wait for more! Enjoy!!

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Coraleen confessed to a crime and spent five years in prison so her innocent grandfather would not. Her and her grandfather's legal team's searching could not uncover who committed the crime. Now out, she wants to stop at Meadowview, pick up her horse, and leave town. Remy, the town sheriff, has always desired Coraleen, but she pushed him away five years ago. Seeing her again brings all those desires back. He believes her to be innocent, but how to prove that and still maintain his elected position as sheriff.

Coraleen knows that many in town will not believe her innocence nor that serving time doe snot make her a horrible person. She does not want to interfere with Remy's chances at getting re-elected and tries to avoid falling in love with him. A great who-done-it Romance.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review. "Always The One" by Rochelle French is book 6 in the Meadowview series but can be read as a standalone book. This is the first book that I've read in the series. I was hooked right from the start. This book is about Coraleen Pettigrew coming back to Meadowview to get her horse. Coraleen has been in prison for the past five years. She admitted to the crime to prevent her grandfather from going to prison. In this book you get romance between Coraleen and Remy, the sherrif, suspense, and second chances. This is a great read! I look forward to reading other books by Rochelle French.

Always the One was a story of courage, redemption, forgiveness and self doubt. Ms. French wrote a story that left me in awe. While reading, I experienced so many emotions ranging from anger and frustration to pride. It took great inner strength for Coraleen to endure the obstacles and scorn that were repeatedly sent her way. Yet despite all the emotional scars and self doubt she handled it all with a grace that was far beyond her years. I was so happy when she finally had someone to believe in and encourage her to trust her own judgement. I was given a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review. Always the One is a tearjerker that will leave you thinking.

This is the story of Remy and Coraleen. Coraleen returns home after 5 years in prison, serving time for a crime she didn't commit to protect her grandfather. What she doesn't realize is that she still has friends in Meadowview (and makes some new ones) and they've got her back. This story has a little who-done-it to go with the romance. Pretty sure it'll tug heartstrings...I know it did that to mine.
