Jessica Gadziala is a USA Today bestselling author who lives in rural New Jersey with her parrots, dogs, and an ever-growing collection of houseplants. A lifelong dreamer, she’s been writing stories since childhood and published her first book in 2015. When not at her desk, she’s usually feeding backyard birds, rewatching crime dramas, period pieces, and 90s supernatural TV shows, or adding to her towering stacks of unread books.
We finally have Milo's story 👏🏻 I was very curious to see who would manage to win over this amazing man. What type of woman does she need to be to arouse his interest for more than just one night?
Milo is the last Grassi brother who hasn't found a wife yet. Not that he's looking. His mom sits at family dinners every Sunday and gives him her lectures about grandchildren, though. 😂
Milo is the cool, quiet brother. He doesn't need much and is quite content being single.
Roe would like to say that she has her life together. That she loves her job as a singer at the casino. She'd like to pretend that the money she earns is enough for more than just a shabby apartment in an unsafe location. That's all just wishful thinking, and she simply does what she can to make ends meet.
She also sings at the casino for special guests, invited by her boss. Yes, Milo is one of those very special guests one day.
I'd love to tell you more about the story, but that would be unfair. You have to read and enjoy the story for yourself.
This is a must-read scorching hot, action-packed mafia romance. Enjoy the show! 😉🔥
📖Genre & Tropes📖 : romance mafia x power struggle plot x singer heroine x toxic boss x hot and respectful mobsters x spicy
The Woman in the Wrong Place xD) était parfaite !
Un peu frustrée de pas savoir ce qu’il s’est passé avec Dom mais bon j’imagine qu’on aura un autre tome et j’ai hâte =D
Bref, une romance mafia sexy et pleine de tensions que j’ai lu avec plaisir !

A mafia romance that marks a turning point in the Grassi family history
Unlike the other books in the series, this one takes place in Atlantic City with the beginnings of a new branch of the Grassi mafia family (and I have to admit I'm super excited for the author to publish the spin-off series !).
I really enjoyed the tense atmosphere surrounding the Grassi takeover of Atlantic City (Remo <3), and the romance between Roe and Milo (whom I still picture as a young boy in The Woman in the Wrong Place xD) was perfect !
I'm a little frustrated not knowing what happened with Dom, but I imagine we'll get another book, and I can't wait =D
In short, a sexy and suspenseful mafia romance that I thoroughly enjoyed !
Do we're moving to Atlantic City? Hello new faces... hello new boss!!!
Anywho..
Milo is delightful. He's alpha but he's sweet. He pays attention, puts the effort in and treats his woman like she's the very oxygen he needs to breath. This man stood ten toes down and knew immediately that Roe was his woman. I love me an unproblematic man.
Roe was stuck in a job that paid the bills but came with a nasty pervert boss. She never imagined she'd find herself thrown into the drama of the mob and criminals alike. However my girl knew to pick the right side and get herself the bag. She was sweet, genuine and straightforward. Also very unproblematic.
These two had chemistry from the get go. The tension that built was delish, the sweet moments of genuine organic connection.. the build of them even amongst the chaos was a sweet thing. But naturally there was choas along the way and they honestly breezed through it. Not that it was easy but they were just on the same page.
Obvious I'm very excited for the future possibilities with certain characters but that doesn't distract from how great they all were in this story. The chemistry, the banter and the bickering. The unexpected, the new found family/friendships and the sweet. It was a rollercoaster but one I was so completely invested in.
Now I do wait in anticipation for what's next but what a great addition Milo and Roe are to this ever evolving world.
The Woman on the Stage is the tenth book in the Grassi Family series by Jessica Gadziala. This is Milo’s book.
I loved Milo! He’s such a great guy. He’s also sweet to his momma and loves his entire family. Milo is sent to Atlantic City to help his cousin Remo where he meets Monroe (“Roe”) and falls hard.
Roe is great! She’s determined and talented and doing her best to make it on her own as a singer. Her boss is sleazy and gross! However she handles him, the best a man like that can be. The connection between Roe and Milo was pretty quick. There were some issues in the way, but when she was placed in danger, Milo ignored them and claimed what was his.
Milo’s cousins Domenico (recently out of prison) and Remo play big roles in this story. I loved both of these guys and hope we get their stories soon. Domenico already met his lady (although we don’t know her yet), and Remo needs him a lady to fall in love with and take care of. All of the guys in these books are respectful and protective so it’s easy to fall in love with each and every one of them.
The baby brother Milo finally found the one! Hard working and single, Milo is sent on out of town job to help the long lost Grassi cousins. He walks into the casino piano bar, looks at the stage and BAM! There is drop dead gorgeous singing Roe. Looking like an old school angel. Roe "Monroe" was raised to be in the limelight but took her own path to sing at a rundown casino. Each night she is signing her heart out but wants more in life. When she sees Milo or the first time, it is instant attraction. I love how they were both so attracted to each other, it was in the air. There wasn't much resistance to the big feelings but there were a lot of obstacles. This book gives some drama, terrible men who are fine with hurting woman, suspense, new Grassi's (swoon), a little spice, love, mama Adrian and a tease into Dom's story. Yes, we need Dom's story soon, I have so many questions! This book was a perfect addition to the Grassi's.
Jessica Gadziala takes the Grassi world somewhere new in this installment, shifting the action from Navesink Bank to Atlantic City.
Milo Grassi is sent to AC with Dom to help Remo Grassi on with an intel‑gathering mission on a casino owner that quickly becomes something far more complicated. Working at the casino is a lounge singer that Milo is immediately captivated by but also sees as the person that could gather the information they need.
Roe, the singer, is one of those quietly compelling heroines: talented, wary, and more entangled in the city’s underbelly than she realizes. Her chemistry with Milo builds in that slow, magnetic way that feels inevitable. Every time he steps in to protect her, the stakes rise — not just for the mission, but for both of their hearts.
Atlantic City adds grit, glamour, and a sense of unpredictability. Loved meeting a new Grassi family and getting their history. Hopefully will we get some of their stories in the future.
As with all of Jessica Gadziala’s books, I was immediately pulled into her world—and once I was in, I couldn’t put it down. The Woman on the Stage is no exception. This time we’re introduced to a brand‑new setting in Atlantic City, along with a whole cast of intriguing secondary characters that I’m genuinely excited to learn more about as the series continues.
I thoroughly enjoyed both Roe and Milo. Their dynamic felt engaging and easy to sink into, and I loved watching their story unfold. This book delivers exactly what I’ve come to expect from this series: fast pacing, addictive writing, and characters that keep you invested from start to finish.
Another great instalment, can’t wait to see where the series heads next.
Another fun Mafia romance from this author and a return to Navesink Bank. I appreciated the set up for their cousin Remo in Atlantic City.
I liked this last line of the book. Usually last lines just tidy things up and leave us feeling complete. This one does that but it also gives a nod to how we gain in love even when we lose.
“You see, I thought I walked into that lounge all those years ago to do business. Turns out, I walked in to lose every negotiation for the rest of my life. And be over the moon to do so.”
Also I'm not sure I've ever thanked this author for making sure her characters always have safe sex. Thank you for normalizing people being grounded and responsible even in the midst of passion and strong emotions.
Ok, so this was fun, but I really need a mafia family tree in front of all these books. There are so many families and people I can't ever keep up with who's who.
This was a quick, fun read. I really like the mafia guys we met in Atlantic City and I hope they get a book or two. Also, Dom. Who, what, and why?!? I am so courious about his tale. I do wish we saw him again in the epilogues.
The couple was fun and sweet. It was instalove and drama filled. The epilogues were so good. This is typical Jessica Gadziala. Her books are perfect for when I am getting into a book slump or don't know what to read.
I usually like the female characters in this Gadziala's books but Roe just didn't have the personality that made me want to keep reading the book. The new family characters, Remove and his brothers, that have moved Atlantic city are the ones that I found the most interesting in this book.
If you're a fan of Jess, you have to know that there's no way she disappoints you. This book was another love story that's sensitive and thoroughly heartfelt. I can't get enough of a loving, caring gentleman. The story makes you want one of your own. Go read this one and get comfortable!!
I really enjoyed Milo & Roe's story. They had a spark from the very first time they laid eyes on each other. Milo & Dom get sent to Atlantic City to help out their cousin Remo, and it has me curious about their stories. I'm also hoping we get a story about "the pit boss with the hair" and definitely want to read Dom's story.
There is something about Jessica Gadziala's mafia stories that just make them shine. I mean, all her other series are great but the mafia stories? Just a cut above the rest. And this story does not disappoint.
Name one of her stories that is not 10/10... You can't
Wonderful as always ... Never stop writing you're so talented... You're truly a goddess! Love your writing your stories the plots the characters... I'm obsessed
Milo and Monroe were perfect for each other, a hot romance, some danger, drama and a very large extended Italian family, along with a fickle one eared alley cat rounded out this winning read.
I love the entire Grassi series but I do believe this is my favorite. Although I do say that after each new one. Milo and Monroe are a really interesting couple. My favorite of the series is the epilogue at the end of each book. I love how far ahead they reach.
