“Mrs Markov, where is your husband?”
Beth’s life is perfect. Newly married to FBI Special Agent Nick Markov and building her career as a forensic botanist, Beth has it all.
Until Nick betrays his fellow agents and abandons her.
Beth is left alone to face the devastation of Nick’s lies. Grilled by the FBI, the only person who believes Beth is innocent is Nick’s boss, Assistant Director Warren Pearce.
Warren’s work is demanding enough without the complication of his growing attraction to the wife of his fugitive agent. When Beth disappears, the fine line between Warren’s job and his feelings for her becomes impossible to maintain.
Will Beth forgive Nick for breaking her heart? Will Warren choose the path of duty, or fight for Beth’s love? In a world of danger and deceit, who will survive and who will triumph?

At the beginning of December 2013, I sat down at my computer and started typing. I had a story in my head that insisted on being released and four months later I had written my first novel.

Writing is not new for me. I've been writing since my teenage years. It is only now that I have felt the urge to take it more seriously.

My credentials? I don't have a degree in writing and I'm not published extensively (yet). My first job was the Australian Army Reserve and I left only to enlist in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). I loved the life and it has left me with an interest in the things military and law enforcement related. Another passion in my life is research. I love to find out about things and have been doing that since high school. Not content with set assignments, I used to take up my own research projects on a wide range of topics. So rest assured, if it's in one of my stories, I have researched it extensively. Having said that, there will be occasions when I need to take a bit a license, bend the truth to fit the story.

I love writing. I love letting the story inside me come to life on a page. It's intoxicating. The pure pleasure I experience is something incredible, so I will keep writing for as long as the stories keep appearing in my mind. If someone else enjoys reading what I write, then that increases the joy I feel. Winners all round!

In brief:

Age: Old enough to have grown three grown children.

Lives: Tasmania, Australia.

Inspiration for stories: Music of all kinds, overheard comments, strange news items.

Interests: Motorsport, reading, research.

Guilty pleasures: Self-confessed stationery junkie.

Awesome! A MUST READ if you're into romance and intrigue!

I don't often read this genre, but "Roses" had me hooked from start to finish. I read it in one sitting...couldn't put it down! The characters are real, and I connected with each and every one of them. The storyline twisted and turned to the end, full of suspense and emotionally charged romance. Great work Alison Clifford!

Roses by Alison Clifford is a fast paced romantic thriller. I received this book through Goodreads Giveaways and look forward to reading the next book in the series.

There are quite a few twists and turns in the first book of this series. I read it every chance I got. A question or two I had I suspect will be answered in book two. I really loved it that the male lead wasn't a pretty boy type. And the female lead has her own problems to overcome, but not your usual fare. I thoroughly enjoyed this tale of suspense and romance.

I received a free copy of this book from Goodreads.
I really wanted to like this book, and for a short while thought I would. However, there is really no character or plot development and it jumps from one scenario to the next without ever providing any depth or background. The whole premise is largely implausible too. Sorry, not the book for me.

I thought the story was good. Had it's slow moments. And when you think you are just about done, it picks up again. Nice love story. And it will be interesting to see what she does in book 2.
