Just Us: Horror In a Small Maryland Town

Rate this book
Two brothers move with their mother to a lonely house in small town in Maryland. That’s when things start to go wrong. Can the place be haunted? Is there a poltergeist connecting to one of the brothers? Based on a true story. “Scared the pants off me,” writes H.L. Osterman, author of Short Changed. “You’ll keep the lights on at night after reading this excellent thriller,” says Hollis George, editor of Bram Stoker, Without Fangs.

Okay folks, if you're from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, USA, then you'll know where this story takes place. If you grew up there in the '70s, then you probably know the author. Well done, John. I enjoyed this story. I could literally smell things; like the woods in the winter, abandoned tobacco barns, and the cellar and attic of an abandoned house. This just brought that stuff back, for me. Anyway, the story is clever, and it's fun. I enjoyed it. If I were a early-teen aged boy, I'd probably give this story five stars.
