Excellent book! Journey into Forgiveness by Reverend Mark Morris is powerful and moving. Knowing the author and his family personally makes his testimony even more impactful, but even if you didn’t know them, this story would still deeply touch your heart.

Walking through such a tragic loss, the death of his son in such a heartbreaking way, and choosing forgiveness is something most of us can’t even begin to comprehend. Yet, through this book, you see what it truly looks like to live out God’s Word in the hardest of circumstances.

He and his wife’s faith, humility, and obedience to God are evident on every page. Their journey is not only a testimony of forgiveness, but of God’s grace, strength, and sustaining power.

This book will challenge you, encourage you, and remind you that forgiveness is not just a suggestion in Scripture, it’s a calling, even when it feels impossible.

The Journey to Forgiveness by Mark Morris is an open message from a hurting heart that was healed by Jesus Christ. It is valuable as a practical tool, with the message of putting one’s total faith in God laid out in a useful, applicable fashion. There are reflective questions following some chapters that help the reader dig deeper to root out any sources of pain, bringing them into the light where they cannot hide.
Morris’ brave sharing of how the murder of his only son impacted his life, heart, marriage, and ministry is inspiring. He shows how even in the worst circumstances, God can replace the damage caused to the heart with a clean, fresh one. The results are a freedom like one has not previously known.
I give it five stars for practicality of application, and for the bravery to share such personal pains.
