The Haunting at Briar's Peak

Rate this book
An inherited house. A sealed basement. A legacy unearthed...

When disgraced journalist Christy Harrow arrives in the picturesque Appalachian town of Briar’s End, she expects to settle her late grandmother’s affairs and leave her past behind.

Instead, she stumbles onto a history the town would rather forget.

At first it’s subtle—missing records, evasive answers, polite smiles that vanish the moment she asks the wrong question. But the deeper Christy digs into Briar’s End’s past, the more resistance she encounters from people determined to keep certain truths buried.

Because the story she’s chasing isn’t just local history. It’s a legacy powerful families have spent generations protecting.

If Christy keeps digging, she may finally uncover the truth Briar’s End has worked so hard to hide. And why the town never wanted her to come back.

It pulled me in with its small-town setting, dark secrets, and gripping mystery—made even better by a main character who was both reliable and genuinely likable. Wish I had read it during fall.
