No woman had ever joined the Rising Sons...until now. *A standalone novel in the Rising Sons universe with a bonus novella!* Raven is tough, strong, and she lives for the rush of the open road. She's trying for something that no woman has ever done, and the Rising Sons aren't going to make it easy for her. When trouble comes to the Rising Sons, though, she might be the only one man enough to stand against it. Gunner is ride or die. The club was the only thing on his mind until Raven showed up. As soon as he saw her, he had to have her. She's not just another lay to him, but an equal; someone he can stand beside. She's everything he wanted, but didn't know existed in a woman. When the president of the MC is attacked and put into a coma, the club starts to crumble. Tensions rise when Raven and Gunner both try to step in and lead. Together, they have to stop old enemies and new from tearing down everything that is the Rising Sons Motorcycle Club. Now including the first book in The Davis Patience!
3.75/4 stars - I generously received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review. I will begin by saying that I LOVED the concept of this story. A woman proving herself to a bunch of bad ass bikers? Hell yes! I loved the strength of Raven and how her and Gunner were both struggling with figuring out how to have a relationship where both have alpha/dominant personalities. I found that I wanted more detail in the build up from the point where they couldn't stand each other to where they couldn't keep their hands off each other. I wanted more depth in the relationship aspect. Overall I enjoyed this story quite a bit. The thing that caused me to lower my rating slightly was the number of editing issues with typos or wrong words showing up throughout the book. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this book.
I loved this story! It took me all day to read the book. Stayed up to 2pm to complete it, could not put it down until I read it all. Raven is a biker girl who want to join the Mc Rising Son's, she would be the first women to ever join their brotherhood. Gunner is ex military and lives for his club. The MC enemies want them gone. Together they will fight for their freedom. Recommend this book for all MC lovers. This is not a short read! Enjoy I did. Happy riding.
The book starts off with a BANG...and big huge anger-filled hate-screw fest that was pretty raunchy and crazy wild. Raven and Gunner were a match made in heaven (or probably hell)...she was gorgeous and sexy and tough as nails...he was a dangerous and cold mountain of a man. Together they made quite a couple and between them joining strengths and fighting multiple threats to their club, they were a force to be reckoned with. Raven made a big mistake getting involved with a cop...and when she turns to him for help out of a mess, it starts the ball rolling and a chain of events that will blow the safety and security of the MC all to hell...and put the lives of everyone she cares about in danger. It was a fast paced story of respect, loyalty and earning your way into what is usually a "boys only" club...with plenty of action, thrills and romance, primarily between the two leads. There were a few issues with my copy though (a bit confusing to follow when there were some errors with chapters being repeated and a wrong name mentioned in a paragraph) and hopefully they will be corrected in future books.
**** 3.5 **** "Raven and Gunner ride or die for love" stars
3.5 Stars! I really liked this book and I liked the concept of the bad ass biker chick wanting to be one of the "brothers" of the MC rather than an Old Lady or girlfriend of a brother. I personally don't think that the writing style was bad as I read in a couple other of the reviews, I just think that the writing style was different but isn't that what books are supposed to be? I mean what fun would it be if every author wrote the same - different styles appeal to different people. My favorite parts of this book were the fight scenes which I found very descriptive, exciting and made me feel like I was right there in the heat of the battle with the characters. I will say that yes, there were some editing errors which brought this review down from 4 stars to 3.5 but the story itself was good and I enjoyed it. When I read this book I was unaware that there was a Rising Sons Trilogy prior to this book and look forward reading about Hope and Trask's story.
I absolutely fell in love with this series from the beginning! It's on of those that grabs you from the start and you can't put it down until you have read them all, and even then you want more! The story lines are unique, characters that are so easy to like and relate to, lots of action, definitely has the grit & angst you want in a MC story, the intimate scenes are so sexy & HOT, keeps you interested throughout the entire series, very intriguing, and just an overall amazing series!! This author has a great writing style, it is smooth, has a good flow which makes for an easy read, and always has really good editing. She is a very talented author and I know we will see more great stories from her for years to come. I can't wait!! I definitely recommend this to everyone looking for an amazing MC series! You will not be disappointed!
What a unique idea for a MC book!! This is the first I've read of Davida Lynn. The difference with this book, they have allowed a woman the opportunity to join their club. Like every other prospect, she must pass a series of tests. Her gender does NOT give her any advantage. It will take everything she has to prove herself worth of patching in to the Rising Sons. The book is divided into three parts. Part one takes you on Raven's journey of becoming a full fledged member of the MC. Part two shows the potential she has at holding an important position within the club. Part three has the MC at war possibly because of some of Raven's previous actions. If you're looking for a GOOD MC story....The Rising Sons won't disappoint!!
This book was great not perfect as little mistake's let it down but 4 good stars. I liked that the heroine is as strong as the guys and leads this book well, she's got spirit and sass and don't let anyone walk over her as she's trying to get to the top. Raven and gunner was a hot angry mess in bed when this book kicks off so your drawn into the MC straight away and not just a patched guy with a sweet butt nope your given a female lead from the off and it's a welcome change, yes there are spelling errors and sometimes it felt wrong but overall I over came them and enjoyed this story anyways :) this is a new author and I say give her a try and now I'm going to try her others.
I have to say I love mc books but I hadn't read any with a woman trying to get into the group so that a new thing for me and wasn't sure how I would like it.I loved it! Raven has been a pro's and trying to prove herself to get into the patched in brothers .Gunner is s.of arms and has a love hate relationship with Raven .when One of the test is fighting and pinning an opponent so when raven is up it's Gunner name called so she has to try to fight as hard as she can.when trouble strikes the club and pre-existing is out it's raven stepping up alongside her man. Will they be able to survive or will it destroy them? I am so very Blessed to have read it.
this was a great follow up read to the series "The Virtues". Hope, Faith & Charity were the epitome of the saying "behind every great man is a great woman". In this book, Raven shows her own strengths, making her way in a male dominated world but the catch phrase for this book would be more "stand by your man".
Spelling mistakes, written style meh!, a female lead, which I think basically a sweet but too big for her boots, when read blurb thought ooh a mix on a mc story a female biker, but this is just poor
I love strong heroines and Raven was as tough as they come she was witty and sassy and didn't take crap from no one Gunner was typical alpha male hot brooding lots of action and a HEA
This book had so much potential! BUT....... it was so confusing for the reader. its like there was a book before that I didn't read...... only rating it so many stars for its potential.
