a fun adaptation of the game, with good art and a good telling of the story, skipping over some gameplay moments to make the book flow better.

(4.5) Przyjemne czytadełko. Szkoda, że robi speedrun właściwie gry (cały tom praktycznie objął połowę fabuły gry), ale wciąż bardzo fajnie się czytało. Styl jest przyjemny a niektóre postaci są naprawdę fajnie narysowane, w szczególności Greez (acz Cere mogłaby wyglądać lepiej. Z drugiej strony, Trilla totalna hotówa). Manga po prostu przeskakuje wszystkie etapy gdzie trzeba było docierać do lokacji. Ciut szkoda, bo to zawsze mogła być opcja by nieco pogłębić postać, ale rozumiem że nie po to to powstało. Raczej miało to być szybkie, przyjemne czytadełko i tę rolę spełnia (co zalatuje cashgrabem noale czego ja oczekuje w dzisiejszych czasach). Po drugi tom tak czy siak chętnie sięgnę, choćby po to by powiększyć moja kolekcje reaction piców Greeza XD also, mangowy Calu Kestisie, my beloved 💜

PT "Jedi: Fallen Order" foi um dos últimos jogos que tive o prazer de jogar, há já alguns anos, antes de me afastar completamente do gaming. Esta série pretende adaptar a história do jogo para o formato mangá.
Em primeiro lugar, tal como já tinha referido a propósito de "The Mandalorian", acho que é uma excelente ideia trazer este tipo de adaptações para livro, permitindo que pessoas que não tiveram oportunidade de acompanhar a série ou, neste caso, jogar o videojogo, possam conhecer estas histórias através de outro medium.
Mas mesmo para quem jogou, como eu, é uma ótima forma de revisitar e recordar uma história que me lembro de ter achado muito boa. E este mangá consegue precisamente isso: transportar novamente para a página uma história que já conhecemos, sem deixar de funcionar como uma experiência bastante agradável por si só.
Gosto bastante deste tipo de adaptações e espero que continuem, desde que mantenham sempre este nível de qualidade. E, sinceramente, o formato mangá está a revelar-se particularmente adequado para adaptações deste género, muito graças à simplicidade e à flexibilidade do medium.

EN "Jedi: Fallen Order" was one of the last games I had the pleasure of playing, several years ago, before I completely stepped away from gaming. This series aims to adapt the game's story into manga format.
First of all, just as I mentioned regarding "The Mandalorian", I think it is an excellent idea to bring these kinds of adaptations to book form, allowing people who didn't have the opportunity to watch the series or, in this case, play the video game, to experience these stories through a different medium.
But even for someone who did play the game, like me, this is a great way to revisit and remember a story that I recall being very good. And this manga does exactly that: it brings a familiar story back to the page while still working as an enjoyable experience in its own right.
I really like these kinds of adaptations, and I hope they continue, as long as they consistently maintain this level of quality. And, honestly, manga is proving to be a particularly well-suited format for adaptations like this, largely because of the medium's simplicity and flexibility.

Star Lisioł Jedi. Upadły Zakon

Gdy Lisioł zobaczył, ze będzie wydawana manga z Calem Kestisem, po prostu musiał ją mieć. Był też bardzo ciekaw jak twórcy przełożą fabułę gry Jedi: Upadły Zakon. Okazuje się, że poszło im całkiem zgrabnie. Etapy głównie zręcznościowe takie jak np. przebiegnięcie przez pociąg podczas dynamicznego samouczka zostały całkowicie pominięte. Jest to świetne rozwiązanie dla osób, które chcą zapoznać się z samą fabułą, a nie mają smykałki do grania. Taki zabieg ma plusy i minusy. Z jednej strony fabuła pędzi na złamanie karku i nie ma czasu na nudę. Z drugiej strony, Cal traci nieco ze swojego szalonego parkouru. W grze mamy dużą styczność ze skakaniem, bieganiem oraz, prawie że lataniem. Tutaj jest to znacznie bardziej ograniczone.

Co do kreski jest bardzo przyjemna dla oka. Tryb realistyczny, jak to lubi piszczeć Lisioł, czyli podobnie jak w Frieren czy w Ostatnim Elfie. Miodzio. Postacie są wyraziste, a Cere wyleczyła się nawet z problemów z oczami. Sceny walki dobrze się ogląda – miecze świetlne dobrze się wpasowują w tą stylistykę. Jeśli jednak liczycie na coś więcej typu sceny których nie było w grze, to zapomnijcie. Jedynym dodatkiem są myśli Kestisa. Cal jest kreowany tutaj na początkującego bohatera, więc często jest zaskoczony udaną akcją i stara się nadrabiać pozą. Warto jednak zainteresować się tą mangą. Zwłaszcza że BD jest jedyny w swoim rodzaju *Lisie kiwanie łebkiem z uznaniem*. Mangę można potraktować jak dodatek do serii albo nawet rodzaj gadżetu. Lisioł zamierza zebrać całą serię.

The first volume of an adaptation of the Respawn Entertainment computer game Jedi: Fallen Order, set 14 BBY.
Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis is in hiding on Bracca but reveals his Force powers to save a friend, drawing the attention of the Empire's Jedi-hunting Inquisitors. He is saved by Cere Junda and Greez Dritus, who recruit him on their mission to rebuild the Jedi Order.
This book has two advantages going for it from the word go; the first of which is that, due to George Lucas' love of Akira Kurosawa movies, Japanese style and culture if built into Star Wars at the most fundamental level. This means that it adapts exceptionally well to manga. The other advantage this book has is that its source material is one of the best Star Wars games ever made, with compelling characters, dramatic locations and dynamic action set-pieces.
With all of that in place, all this book needs to do is be a competent adaptation to be really worth a read... and it succeeds perfectly.
The writers have done a good job of knowing which bits of the game to adapt in detail and which bits to skip past, whilst also giving us just enough terrain-climbing and lightsaber-swinging to get the feel of what the player experience is like. I especially liked seeing Cal's first encounter with a Purge Trooper, whose armour takes more than just a single lightsaber hit, just like in the game.
The book ends with a strong cliffhanger as Cal has a rematch with the Inquisitor Second Sister, only for her to reveal the shocking secret of her identity to him.

A great new series. I have heard of the book and series am very glad to have the manga version. A great fast paced, action packed edition to the Star Wars universe.

Great story and awesome artwork. I like how Cal levels up his skills. I would like to know how, but I think that is more for the novel than the manga, but I can't wait for the next volume.

Most difficult part when it comes to adaptations of video games is that only things that can be portrayed are cutscenes, parts between THE interesting parts of the story. And this is the main problem with this comic. Story is choppy, simply not presented in continuous manner. Art is pretty good, very clean and manages to capture the game atmosphere.
But again, only to a degree - cutscenes are not everything.
Interesting, did not read SW Manga before, definitely will check follow up volumes.

It's very close to the game and it looks fantastic. Obviously it's quite rushed, because the mangaka cut out all the fighting through waves of enemies :D but the rest? Quite good.
The only laughable thing is that all the human stormtrooper have suddenly a very good armor against lightsabers *snort* which is bullshit, because you can cut them up like meat in the game. Don't know why they don't do that in the Manga *eyeroll* probably for some stupid chidlren reason.

Myślałam, że będą tam smaczki do gry albo jakieś dodatkowe sceny. Poza jedną sceną, gdzie Cere pije z Grizzem herbatę na pokładzie Modliszki kiedy Cal przeszukuje Bogano. Nie było czegoś takiego. Ta scena też była na jedną albo półtorej strony. Poza tym to wszystko to jest skróconą fabułą z gry pokazaną w sposób okrojony, tylko najważniejsze wydarzenia, co odbiera wiarygodności historii. Wszystko dzieje się nagle i szybko. Za szybko.

Read the UK edition because I was too impatient to wait for the US edition 😂 I love seeing Jedi: Fallen Order representation, and this is a fun take on the story! Sort of the “speedrun” version, but still hits all the important points of Cal’s character development. Great art, and I have never seen such perfect drawings of BD-1 and Greez.

I have the UK Edition, which is out for a few days now.
I really like the drawings and the characters look pretty well adapted (maybe except for one). I took one star off, because I'm nitpicky and the start feels a bit rushed compared to the Game.
But there are so many things I really enjoyed. A lot of the animals the game makes us fight are somewhere in the background or scenic pictures. Greez is his complaining self (I love that character) and Cal's just a cinnamon roll.
I'm really looking forward to the second part and really hope for an adaption of Survivor.
