Snowed In with My Ex’s Dad drops you into the chaos of a winter storm, a remote cabin, and a “forbidden” heat that sizzles on the page. Iris, fleeing a stalker, ends up in Viktor Orlov’s isolated mountain refuge—and yes, you guessed it, there’s only one bed. Viktor is the Pakhan, a Bratva kingpin who could command armies but also very nearly melts when Iris flusters him. It should be explosive. It is explosive… just unevenly so. What worked for me were the characters. Viktor is delightfully dark and morally gray, and Iris holds her own in ways that made me care about her choices and reactions. They have complexity and tension, and their scenes have real stakes—especially when other plot threads kick in and throw punches. The brisk action toward the climax had me turning pages, and some moments genuinely delivered that “holy heck” energy you crave in an off-limits romance. But here’s where the rating slides down a notch: the story has repetition that teetered into irritation. Overused phrases and repeated conversations made certain sections drag, and the pacing felt uneven. Worse, the subplot about a security leak and how characters handle (or don’t handle) it stretches credibility—like they know there’s a problem but barely change course, and then stretch that ignorance for way too long. There are even moments that left me wondering why certain information was known by characters who shouldn’t logically have access to it at all. I found myself torn: the writing quality is solid, the setting atmospheric, and the emotional push-and-pull compelling at times—but the execution wavered. If Snow tightened the plotting and trimmed the repetitive bits, this could have been a clear four-star read for me. Verdict: A gritty, intense romance with memorable characters and potent chemistry, but held back by pacing issues and plot holes that kept it from feeling fully polished. Good, not great—perfect for readers who love Bratva heat and complicated age-gap dynamics, but with a few layers worth skipping your eyes over.

In the middle of a winter storm, I ran away from my stalker ex… And escaped to a cabin in the middle of nowhere.
But just when I think I’m finally free, His silver fox father catches me in his mountain cabin… In his tub, dripping wet.
So now I’m snowed in with the Pakhan. And there’s nothing to do but… Him.
Viktor. Freaking. Orlov. The killer with a crown forged in blood. The father of the man who’s been haunting me for years.

Note to self: If you’re escaping a stalker, maybe don't hide in his father’s remote mountain cabin. Or actually... definitely do, if his father is Viktor Orlov. This story is a high-stakes collision of a desperate escape and a forbidden obsession. I went into this expecting a standard "forced proximity" romance, but what I got was a dark, atmospheric journey where the "one way to stay warm" trope is turned up to a fever pitch. 🥵 The Setup Running from a stalker ex is terrifying, but ending up dripping wet in a bathtub only to be caught by his lethal, "Silver Fox" father? That is a level of chaos I didn't know I needed. Viktor isn't just a man in the woods; he’s a killer with a crown forged in blood. He is the Pakhan—disciplined, deadly, and the very legacy the heroine is trying to flee. The Vibe The tension in that cabin is thick enough to cut with a combat knife. Watching the heroine navigate her fear of the Orlov name while succumbing to the raw, savage protection of the man who wears it is a total rush. Viktor is the ultimate "touch her and you die" protector who is terrifying to the world but a total (possessive) gentleman to her. The Twist Just when you think the storm has settled, that positive pregnancy test changes everything. This isn't just about surviving the winter anymore; it’s about a man who will destroy his own bloodline to protect his new family. Final Verdict: If you love a hero who is "Savage Protector" personified, an age-gap that feels genuinely dangerous, and a "burn the world down for her" ending, this is your next five-star read.

The current blurb leans heavily on “I’m snowed in with my ex’s dad,” implying Iris knowingly spends that time with him under that taboo dynamic. In reality, she doesn’t learn Viktor is her ex’s father until they’re leaving the cabin, making the marketing feel misleading.
The opening had promise. The forced-proximity setup mostly works if you can overlook a few awkward moments, and the snowed-in tension simmers, but the story goes downhill from there.
It becomes repetitive and riddled with plot holes. Even ignoring how Noah finds Iris at the beginning, major issues remain. The security leak subplot and Noah’s role are the biggest offenders. Viktor knows there’s a leak, yet very little is done to address it. Noah has been disowned for five years, so how is he the leaker of current sensitive information and able to tip off enemies about Viktor’s plans?
Viktor as a Bratva Pakhan also falls flat. Sure, he kills, but there are moments where you have to wonder how he survived as a leader, especially when Iris somehow translates plot-critical messages in Russian better than the actual Russian.
What starts as a promising forced-proximity story ends up being a tough read to get through.

This one is hard for me to review! On one hand it is very well written with great characters and an enthralling storyline. On the other hand it has certain things that are repetitive to the point it annoyed me "he/she almost smile. Almost." I lost count of the number of times that was written. Certain conversations happen over and over and over. The other involved part of the main storyline. They know there is a leak. They know who it is and that he is feeding the enemy info about security, shift rotation, weak points and so on but don't do anything about it..even something as simple as change a shift change or security. Also part of what's leaked the person could not know. The person has not been at the compound for approximately 5 years so how could he know of plans that were just made in a secure office? Then there is the question of Iris Stalker. He finds her at a place that is unknown. A safe house in the middle of nowhere but no one questions HOW he found her. To me these are pretty big plot holes. I get overlooking the stalker part until they are safely back at the compound but for months? The story is intense and gritty. Viktor is definitely morally gray bordering on morally black. Iris is strong and I would have to say is morally gray as well, not to the level of Viktor, but she pretty easily sets aside her scruples. As I said they are great characters, very complex. Even with the problems I mentioned above it is a strong, well written story.
I'm not sure why I finished this. There's so many problems with it. To start with, the author did not allow ample time between the main characters to grow a bond or get to know one another before they just had to have each other. That made the relationship feel cheap and unreal. MMC is extremely unlikable. She's basically his sex slave that does his work for him. He keeps her locked up in her room pretty much 24/7. She claims she left her ex for trying to control her but just allows this? Furthermore, she's supposed to be a nurse but assumes her obvious pregnancy symptoms are from stress. Please. I guess she's a stupid nurse. Then when he finds out about the pregnancy and she starts to voice concerns, he tells her she's keeping it, like he's ok with forcing her to carry a pregnancy she may not even want. Phrasing and conversations are repetitive. Also, please tell me why she has to explain what cleaning cash is to a Bratva boss? On their wedding night he makes her do all the work sexually. Literally tells her he's not doing anything. He was just revolting. Then leaving her when he has concrete proof she's going to be attacked? lol take her with you dummy. Ugh this whole book pissed me off. Oh and the first time she tells him she loves him...he says "I know". And again the 2nd time. God could you write a worse MMC?

I have read several books by this author and I find that I am never disappointed. This continues to be the case with this one. It is the right combination of heat, suspense, and struggle, combined with a somewhat twisted happily ever after.
Iris is trying to hide from a deranged ex who is everywhere she goes. She can't figure out how, so she decides to run. She quits her job, tells nobody, and rents a hidden cabin in the woods long term. But she gets a big surprise shortly after arriving there.
Viktor is also in hiding, but for a different reason. He does not expect to find a woman in the bathtub of his safe house, one that is supposed to be completely off grid and hidden from his enemies. Now the storm has them snowed in together for the foreseeable future.
What starts off as a terrifying encounter in the bathroom becomes something much more over time.

In this book we meet Iris & Viktor. After leaving her boyfriend and the nightmare her relationship she books a rental cabin in the mountains. Little did she know she had rented her ex's dad's cabin. Her first thought is he is coming to get her and there is no escape now. Viktor just needs to get into the safe house and take care of his wound. Little did he know he has an unknown stranger in his home. He needs to know if she is friend or foe. Can these two find a HEA or will outside forces make sure that never happens?
Another amazing story by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
This book is much better than the slightly cliched title would suggest. Iris rents a remote cabin in an effort to get away from her obsessive ex who has crippled her life. After arriving at the cabin, she is confronted by the apparent owner who pulls a gun on her. After making it clear that she was an innocent part in the deception, a snow storm traps them at the cabin. He tells her that is first name is Viktor and little else, but it's obvious that he's involved illegal activities from the calls she overhears. Just when it looks like the snow is clearing enoug for them to leave the cabin, her ex shows up and the plot thickens. A good book !!!
This book was a bit hit and miss for me, it started off ok and then went down hill a little in the middle and then there was lots of action at the end, that was edge of the seat. a few things confused me, if the son and father hadn't talked in 5 years how did he no all the security details and stuff, surly that would change constantly. Also there was a lot for repetition about her, family not being a good mother and others things.

The most favorite part of this book are definitely the characters, the story was pretty good to. I could feel the chemistry between Viktor and Iris. Iris has a stalker and was able to escape to a remote cabin, but the cabin is not empty. Viktor and Iris are amazing together and I thoroughly enjoyed their journey. A great read.

I have read a couple of Laylah book's now and this one was just as great as her other books. She is becoming one my favorite authors to read. This book had the spice and the story line. I can honestly say that I have some questions that were never answered in the book. But overall, this was an enjoyable read and I can't wait for the next book to come out. Talk about a riveting book this keeps you on your toes throughout the whole story
The characters were just wow they were wonderfully written Unbelievable. I found myself actually picturing what they look like which is unusual for me. The storyline was riveting with all the twist and turns in the story. And at times very unpredictable. The ending is an ending that you would picture actually happening as a father is holding his newborn son It was so precious to read.
Having to escape her ex who is stalking her, Iris finds herself at a remote cabin that is not empty like she thought. Viktor ends up helping Iris and sharing more than just one bed. Their connection is instant albeit taboo but it was the spark of danger that brought them closer. It was a fun and entertaining read.

Iris and Viktor are trapped together and the heats starts. Iris does not know that the man she is running from is Viktor’s son. I loved their dynamic and the villian of the book his son, Noah, who is dangerous and had already been disowned by his father eventually finds them. Iris gets pregnant which does not please Noah. Overall a compelling book with all the right ingredients, highly recommended.
Really enjoyed this book. It included everything you want from a mafia romance. Love the age gap and the not so cute meet-cute. Little confused on a few things. What happened to Noah’s mom, she’s never mentioned? Why does he act like a first time father with the new baby? Really really likes these two together.

As soon as I got the notification that this book was out I downloaded it and finished it in one sitting 😁. Thank you so much for writing this story :). I’m still smiling!!
**Spoiler alert** I wasn’t ok with the guy in the study, but I understood it was necessary to the story.
I definitely enjoyed this book. I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting on how they meet but it was definitely not how they did. I like how while in the forced proximity, they basically saved each other. And Viktor's possessiveness know no bounds! But Iris puts her foot down when she can. Great book.
This is by far a top notch well written 5/5-star book that has you reading the book quickly. Loved the characters and storyline that kept me engaged from the sexy cover to the end of this amazing book by Laylah.
I couldn't put this story about Viktor and Iris. There was so many twists, danger, drama, and intense chemistry. By the end you are so happy for their HEA.

Another great one. Only thing ....i just don't see how the five year ago disowned son would know everything that was leaked...unless there was someone inside who gave him that info.....but there wasn't.....so that was the only problem I really had with it....
Several scenes had my blood pressure up, emotions on high, and moments that were rather steamy. The ride was a wild one… and I ate it up! This was practically read in a day. Chefs kiss. Read it!
I loved everything about this book, from the action, right down to the mafia romance. Book had me hooked from page 1. Definitely will be recommending this book to all my mafia romance girlies.
Adrenaline pumping, scorched earth determination, betrayal, survival, and a possessive, steamy love that says they they can survive it all! Couldn't put it down! Couldn't always sit still while I read it! Just ....wow!
