Sometimes the only way to keep secrets buried is to put up a smokescreen so thick, it's impossible to see the truth.

Shirley Graham, a vice-president with the largest bank in Seattle, is found dead by the side of the road, still wearing one of her high-powered business suits. Well-known in her profession and respected by her colleagues, finding a skeleton buried in her basement sends shock waves through the community.

When Gin and her team arrive on the scene, the local PD are only too glad to wash their hands of both homicides, especially since the skeleton was identified as the main suspect in the disappearance of ten million dollars seven years before. Even stranger, he was found with a bag of banknotes that hadn’t been issued until three years after he'd been murdered.

It was a puzzle that a figure hiding in plain sight is determined will never be solved, no matter how many roadblocks, or more dead bodies, have to be thrown in Gin’s path. As she picks her way through a fog of lies and deceptions, a killer becomes increasingly desperate to keep Shirley’s secrets buried along with his victims, even if one persistent FBI agent has to be buried with them.

Dead bankers and a years old case of missing funds from a $50M bank transfer have Gin and her team of FBI Special agents running in circles trying to work with the Seattle Police Department to find a murderer and the missing funds. This series continues with outstanding mystery thrillers for the mind!

outstanding!

How do you get any better than a Gin Reilly FBI thriller! This was such a great read filled with twists and turns to keep the pages turning at lightning speed. All of this series has been fantastic & I am so happy to report it is NOT filled with F bombs & filthy language. Thank you C.R. Chandler for the awesome entertainment!

Smokescreen, for sure

Actually it was not only a huge Smokescreen, but red herrings, misdirection, roadblocks, all done in the need for greed. Good FBI thriller. So many behind the scene sources, which makes it even more interesting.

Excellent read

A page turner. Kept my attention to the end. Good character description. Glad to have a different theme. Needs some proofreading in early part of the book.
