Tess Kearney now knows what that lives beyond the tree line of Sycamore Run Estates.
And they know her and her son, Justin.
The Dogmen have learned their routines. Their movements. Their scent. They were always there, moving through the dark. But now they’re no longer waiting for night.
Determined to protect her son, Tess turns to her closest friend Karen and Karen’s husband Scott, who understands the danger better than anyone. Under his guidance, Tess and Justin arm themselves with weapons powerful enough to defend their home. Scott teaches them how to shoot, how to prepare, and how to survive.
But his warning is clear.
Pulling the trigger will change everything.
Law enforcement refuses to get involved. The rules the residents once relied on are no longer enough. As encounters become more frequent and far more dangerous, Tess and Justin are forced to rely on Karen, Scott, and a reluctant neighbor who has spent years avoiding the truth.

I'm going to keep this one short because I want a more or less overall review when I finish the third and final book in this series. But wow... just wow. Terrifying.
They let you know that the pack are there watching. Footsteps, howls, knocking at the doors and windows in the middle of the night. Eventually, you'll either get used to it or leave. It's an uneasy alliance, but it works. Mother and son, Tess and Justin know these rules. They don't like them, yet they abide by them. Until, Justin's dad, Tess's ex husband visits, and breaks the one cardinal rule that will bring a reckoning down upon them, that none of them might survive in Don't Go Outside At Night book 3.
Book 1 blew my mind, I read the last chapter with my mouth hanging open, eyes bugging out of my head while nervously looking over my shoulder. Where I live I’m surrounded by beautiful lush trees but come nightfall they look creepy as hell, reading book 1 at night was probably a bad idea. Book two had me gobsmacked, it was so good, it’s been a while since I read a book series good enough to binge read. I need to read book 3, I hope to goodness it’s been published, I forgot to check.
The Author never disappoints. I read everything she publishes, she is phenomenal and always keeps me glued to each chapter. I love the first two of this series. Scary, spenceful set in the Midwest of Central Ohio. The lady and her son moved from Columbus and that’s where I currently live. I totally love these books and I would give her more than FIVE STARS if I could. GREAT READ, highly recommend.
Wow! This book and book one drew me in so quickly. This is definitely one of the best dogmen series I've read. I am now onto the third book, and I just can't wait. The characters, including the dogmen, have the best qualities. Congratulations to this wonderful author who has so many other great books out there. I look forward to more.
I didn't think that anything could top book one in the series, but this sure did! Truly frightening, and full of moments that I was actually holding my breath! On to the final book in the trilogy. Luka is an amazing author.
Author spends the entire first book talking about how Justin is 18 and a young adult. 87 pages into this book he’s somehow 17 and can’t legally use guns until he turns 18 lol. Huge plot hole. Kinda disappointed.
This was better than the first. The storyline is so fast-paced, and you feel like you are there. Suspenseful and scary. I could not stop turning the pages. I can't wait to read the next installment. Awesome series!
Tess and Justin have experienced many things. They try to adapt and live with the creature's that inhabit the woods. The Dogmen like to watch and let them know they are there. Can Tess stay in her home the Dogmen are getting bolder. They have no fear.
