Aftermath

One night. 12,500 missiles. Seven point nine billion lives ended in fire and silence.

The world is ash. Cities are craters. The air itself is poison.

Izzy Conner, twenty, steps out of a Chicago bunker carrying nothing but his mother’s final promise and a radio that still crackles with faint voices. Diana and Hannah Miller, sisters from Austin, Texas, emerge from their buried shelter with two bikes, a handful of supplies, and the stubborn refusal to let hope die with everything else.

Three strangers. Three separate paths through a poisoned continent. One fragile voices on a dying frequency, giving directions, warnings, and the only thing worth fighting for... someone to reach.

In a landscape of melted highways, abandoned barricades, and the slow decay of what used to be civilization, survival is no longer about staying alive. It’s about finding the people who make staying alive mean something.

A gripping post-nuclear odyssey of trust, endurance, and the quiet courage it takes to choose each other when the world has chosen nothing at all.

Aftermath When everything ends… some things begin.

I'm Bo, and I write as B. B. Hartwich: dark erotic science fiction and fantasy, from LitRPG and harem adventures to gothic tales. I'm originally from Denmark. In 2004 I visited Washington State, where I met my wife, Angela, and in 2006 I officially moved to Washington and married her. I became a stepfather to two wonderful girls, and shortly afterward a daughter and a son joined the family.

I worked as a security officer for four years, and during that time I wrote my first book, in 2008. It took four years to find an editor I trusted. Kimberly Dunn of Dunn Editing accepted the challenge, and together we turned that manuscript into a finished book.

In August 2022 I published the opening volume of The James Hamill Chronicle, an ambitious five-book saga with installments of more than 500 pages each. Three of the five are out so far. Since then my writing has grown more than I ever expected. There are now more than 185 books, along with box sets and audiobooks. Among my completed series are the four-book fantasy The Dungeon in the Wall, the two-book Beyond the Blaze, and the two-book The Search for Atlantis.

Lately I’ve been writing some of my favorite stories yet. Billions, with a B follows Brian Thomson, a factory worker who inherits a fortune measured in true billions, and it’s now seven books strong. Stripekin, my completed three-book sci-fi series, takes a tired survey crew on one last routine job that turns into a whole new life. The Pale Court keeps growing, and The Price of the Deal just got its second book.

I also love a story that stands on its own, like Purgatory, a journey through the country that waits after death; The Mortal King, where an ordinary man follows the demoness from his dreams into a brutal new world; and Mercer, a cold, deliberate reckoning for a man whose closest people decided he was expendable.

First and foremost, I'm a family man, and I spend most of my free time with my wife and kids. Away from home I work in shipping and receiving. I started there on March 1, 2022, after six years as a delivery driver, when an injury pushed me to change jobs so I could keep providing for my family. Many of these books get finished late at night after the day job.

When time allows, I enjoy 3D printing, the outdoors, prospecting, metal detecting, coin collecting, and computer gaming. My writing comes from a love of storytelling and the wish to build immersive worlds that pull readers in. Thank you for reading. That still means more to me than anything.
