Dieser sechste Band strotzt nur so vor Drama, Liebe, Freundschaft und noch ein paar kleineren Plot Twists.
Marron schafft es endlich ihre verloren gegangene Kraft wiederzuerlangen und endlich mit Chiaki zusammen zu sein... Na ja fast, zumindest Fynn macht ihr da einen gehörigen Strich durch die Rechnung.
Es wird ein weiteres Mal auf Jeanne d'Arcs Geschichte eingegangen. Ich sollte dazu sagen, dass die dargstellte Jeanne nicht die historische Jeanne ist. Natürlich hat Arina Tanemura die wichtigsten historischen Fakten in diese Geschichte mit eingebracht, jedoch hat sie auch sehr viel Dinge ausgedacht, die nicht auf die historische Jeanne zutreffen, aber auf die auf die Geschichte mit Marron passen. Das ist keinesfalls schlecht oder negativ gemeint. Ich finde es schön sich so eine eigene Version von jemand historischen zu machen.
Band 6 endet mit einem großen Cliffhanger!! Chiaki!!!
Und was ist denn da in Minazuki gefahren!

My favourite of the series, because so much stuff happens. Also I just found out that I do indeed like the manga-Noyn. And the thing with Miyako, she is an awesome friend.
Then there is the story where Jeanne and Noyn travel back in time, not really like in the anime, but it reminds me a lot of it and I liked that particular chapter a lot. :)
One more volume to go and I'm once again down with the series.

Die Mangas sind alle sehr persönlich gestaltet. So gibt es zu jedem Titelbild Erklärungen, die dabei helfen sollen Gedankengänge und Motivation von Arina Tanemura nachzuvollziehen. Zusätzlich gibt es viele kleine Atempausen am linken Seitenrand. Diese sind mit allem möglichen gefüllt. Infos zum Anime, zu den Figuren, Arinas Privatleben. Es ist ganz lustig und auch informativ diese Atempausen zu lesen. Ich hab sie immer nachdem ich mit der Manga fertig war alle gelesen, da ich sie sonst furchtbar störend finde. Oftmals befinden sie sich nämlich auf den spannendsten, aufwühlensten Seiten der Manga. Und liest man dann die Atempause ist die ganze Stimmung zerstört. Wen solche Kommentare prinzipiell nerven, der kann sie ja einfach komplett ignorieren.

I'm just glad that it wasn't actually Chiaki screwing Maron over like that. I kinda wish it had not been her BFF doing that, either. But, in the end, all went well, and the spell was broken.

Review for complete series
Although seemingly an ordinary girl, Maron lives a double life in which she goes out at night disguised as thief Jeanne to steal paintings. But Jeanne doesn't steal just any paintings - as the reincarnation of Joan of Arc, she only has her eyes set on paintings concealing demons sent by the devil. But it isn't long before the devil sends more than just demons to get in Jeanne's way - the thief Sinbad isn't far behind to try and steal the paintings from right under her nose.
Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne was my first manga and therefore holds an unshakeable place in my heart. I remember the times I watched it on TV, not really knowing what manga or anime was, and just utterly falling in love with Jeanne's violet eyes. It was only by chance that I came across the manga in a bookstore - that was the beginning of my manga collection which now, a decade later, would put most libraries to shame.
Of course, the biased and nostalgic me would say this is the greatest manga out there and it is absolutely flawless. Yet I also believe that there is no such thing as a flawless work. Reading it now is different from reading it years ago, but it is no less enjoyable. It stands out from other magical girl series in many ways!
For one thing, Maron and Jeanne look completely different - it always irks me how most magical girls are never recognized by other characters despite the obvious. Unfortunately, Sinbad can't boast the same, but at least he's got a mask and is found out quite early in the story. The concept of Joan of Arc's reincarnation, the demon-infested paintings, and the character's motivations strike me as much more plausible.
Tanemura's art style has always been a major point in her works - provided you like typical shoujo style. Fortunately, I've always liked the shoujo style and I think Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne is showing the author at her best. Although it isn't as refined as her later works, it has the most heart. The characters are adorable, believable and they feel. You can easily see Tanemura pouring her heart into this series while, in more recent ones, I always feel like she is just trying too hard.
The same holds true for the comedy. The humour in her older works has always been a major plus point for me. It is often very simple - just in the expressions characters make. I could never decide what I liked most about this series; the humour, the art, the characters, the emotion. Not to mention that this series also draws a heavy focus on friendship and family. Even side characters get their moments to shine.
Like any other serires, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne has its weak points and it won't be everyone's cup of tea. Yet I can't find it in my heart to point them out as I hold this series so dear, whatever flaws it holds now come to me as adorable absurdities.

Re-Read
So, I kinda remembered liking this a lot more. Well... guess I don’t like it as much anymore.
I‘m not saying the volume is bad, it has a lot of good in it, I jus think that this time the problems outweigh the good.
On the positive side, there is obviously the beautiful artwork, Maron‘s journey to the past and meeting the real Jeanne D‘Arc is very interesting, Miyako finally learns the truth and the romance between Miyako and Yamato actually starts and is adorable. There is also grown Access, which is the most important part here, because Access is the best character. I also forgot how adorable and pure the friendship between Maron and Access is. I feel robbed Anime, so robbed.
Finn also shows signs of still loving Access and being way more complicated than a one-dimensional villain and her storyline remains the most interesting.
That’s it for the positive aspects, let’s move on to the problems.
There is no way to sugarcoat around this topic really, but trigger warning for rape here.
I didn’t actually remember Arina "using" this topic as much as she did. I think I managed to omit that from my memory.
First we have the original Jeanne, telling Maron she lost her purity, because a guard raped her and choosing death to pass her power on to someone new and pure. That is so fucked up on so many levels and really leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I know it is not meant as victim blaming, but it sure can be read as such.
Then we have Noin again. So, his assault on Maron and attempt rape is brushed off as "he actually didn’t mean it" and "oh poor guy just misses girlfriend" and nope, just nope. You don’t excuse behavior like that, fictional or not. Especially since he continues to follow Maron around and kisses her against her will, again. Instead of this being treated seriously, it turns into some sort of joke and I personally can’t find anything funny in that and wonder what Arina has been smoking when she wrote that. I‘m also worried how this will affect readers that actually dealt with sexual assault, because that can backfire a lot.
My second issue comes from the general plot of this volume and how idiotic the characters act. To recap it: Miyako gets possessed, demon controls Chiaki, Maron thinks those two are dating and tries to accept it without even questioning any foul play. Excuse me? How dumb is that? A guy doesn’t go just from passionately loving you to being all over your best friend the next day and you know that the demons are trying to fuck with you. Instead of investigating Maron just thinks this is all fine. Like what? Isn’t she smarter than this? And really, not a fan of this as a whole. I know the storyline was mostly created to have Miyako find out, but why did it need to involve Chiaki at all? Why not just make it about the girls? Why a last minute foil for Maron and Chiaki... again? It was just an annoying plot that didn’t make any sense.
Well, that’s it. For now. Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it.
Anyway, grown Access. That’s it.

Marron ist irgendwie in der Vergangenheit gelandet und trifft auf die echte Jeanne D'Arc. Sie will versuchen, ihre Hinrichtung zu verhindern, doch in der Vergangenheit wimmelt es nur so vor Dämonen und Marron kann sich noch immer nicht verwandeln.
Den sechsten Band der Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne Reihe von Arina Tanemura fand ich wieder etwas schwächer als den fünften.
Die Reise in die Vergangenheit war ganz spannend, aber in der Gegenwart geht das Hin und Her zwischen Marron und Chiaki weiter, obwohl ich gehofft hatte, dass sie im fünften Band endlich zueinandergefunden hatten.
Ich mag auch Noyn noch immer nicht, besonders wenn man bedenkt, dass er im echten Leben Marrons Lehrer ist und mir haben inzwischen auch zu viele Männer Gefühle für Marron beziehungsweise Jeanne entwickelt.
Schön fand ich aber, dass die Freundschaften in diesem Band stärker beleuchtet werden.
Mit Access freundet sich Marron immer mehr an, seit Fynn sie betrogen hat und auch die Freundschaft von Marron und Miyako steht endlich mehr im Fokus.
Miyako kümmert sich seit jeher um Marron, aber Marron verschweigt ihr ja nicht nur die Sache mit Kaito Jeanne, sondern auch ihre Gefühle zu Chiaki, obwohl sie diese ihm gegenüber ja auch nicht wirklich benennen kann.
Dieser Band endet mit einem ziemlichen Cliffhanger und so bin ich sehr gespannt, wie die Geschichte im finalen siebten Band weitergehen und dann auch enden wird.
Fazit:

Untuk mengambil rosarionya yang dijatuhkan Fin dari balkon apartemen, Maron spontan terjun ke bawah. Noin berusaha menjadi tumpuan bagi gadis itu dan ikut terjun. Namun, akibatnya mereka malah menembus waktu dan tiba di zaman ketika Jeanne d'Arc belum dieksekusi mati. Tepatnya sehari sebelum Jeanne akan dieksekusi. Sebelum kabur dari penjaga, Maron berjanji akan menyelamatkan Jeanne.
Rencana Noin dan Maron adalah membebaskan Jeanne yang punya kekuatan untuk menyegel setan yang telah merasuki para pendeta, penjaga, dan rakyat Inggris. Namun, sayangnya Jeanne sudah tak punya kekuatan lagi karena dirinya sudah dinodai oleh penjaga penjara. Satu-satunya cara untuk menumpas para setan itu adalah dengan membiarkan dirinya dibakar hidup-hidup sehingga kekuatan sucinya bisa keluar. Sebelum mati, Jeanne memindahkan kekuatannya pada Maron sehingga dia bisa kembali berubah wujud menjadi Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne.
Sementara itu, di masa kini, Maron yang jatuh dari balkon apartemen koma dan dirawat di rumah sakit tempat ayah Chiaki bekerja. Di masa lalu, Maron kebingungan karena kekuatan Jeanne tidak berfungsi secara maksimal. Di saat genting ketika dia nyaris dibunuh oleh orang-orang karena disangka penyihir, tiba-tiba dia mendengar suara Chiaki. Keberaniannya muncul dan dia berhasil mengeluarkan pedang suci milik Jeanne dan menumpas setan yang merasuki semua orang.
Namun, momen yang kukira klimaks ini ternyata bukan akhir cerita. Begitu Maron berhasil kembali ke dunia masa kini, Fin membuat seekor iblis merasuki Miyako. Miyako yang sudah kerasukan pun entah bagaimana memengaruhi Chiaki. Keduanya pun memutuskan jadian dan membuat Maron sangat shock karena sebenarnya dia akan menjawab pernyataan perasaan Chiaki padanya!

Volume - Enjoyable. Cute. Entertaining. Emotional.
"Manga is an unusual medium (as is anything meant for entertainment). You read it casually, and you can throw it away casually. Or it can move you, make you feel, and change the way you think. It can enrich your life... it depends on you." - Arina Tanemura.
This is a good series, even if it has a push-and-go relationship; it is nice to see the character's growth and how their relationship develops. There are a lot of obstacles the characters have to go through in the fantasy that is this story. A lot of it is intertwined with religious figures and beliefs, but at its core, it is a story of friendship and relationships and how one tries to push through, and sometime's it's okay to need help.

What the hell was that ending?!?! Doesn't Maron deserve a chance to have some happiness without some asshat ruining everything??
Sorry, that was a bit dramatic, I just wasn't expecting that whatsoever. The rest of volume was quite good, if a touch melodramatic, but if I'm being honest I like melodrama, it's more fun and entertaining to me.
I can't believe the next volume will be the ending, this series really flew by haha. All I know is that the ending better be happy and satisfying, or I will riot!

Es war eine meiner ersten Mangareihen neben Sailor Moon und ich bin so dankbar dafür! Wenn ich die Reihe erstmal wieder durchlese, dann meist innerhalb eines Tages und am Stück, alles andere kann warten.

This one is a little darker than the previous ones, although 5 ended on a dark note. The casual way she states that she lost her purity to a guard was horrifiying compared to the rest of the series.

Arina Tanemura versteht es ihre Leser in den Bann zu ziehen und zu verzaubern. Bereus nicht diese Reihe gekauft und gelesen zu haben. Gehörte auch zu dem Anime, den ich mir als Kind damals angesehen habe. Der Zeichenstil ist ganz besonders und ein Merkmal für Arina Tanemura. Mit dieser Reihe hat man definitiv nichts zu bereuen.

Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne macht sich Bereit für das Finale. Band sechs ist die vorletzte Schlacht für Maron, die wieder einiges zu verdauen hat. Sie will Chiaki endlich ihre Liebe gestehen und sieht ihn ausgerechnet mit Miyako - was für eine Überraschung! Da muss doch was faul sein!
Da ich nach Band fünf (der einfach fantastisch war) dachte, das ganze Katz und Maus Spiel sei beendet, die Gefühle entknotet und nur noch eine wahre Schlacht zu kämpfen, war das ein wenig ernüchternd. Doch Maron beweist etwas sehr schönes: Sie lässt es zu, dass die negativen Gefühle sie nicht bedrücken, sondern sie stärken.
Auch diesmal war der Manga wahnsinnig toll gezeichnet - das waren sie eigentlich alle - aber die Story konnte mich nicht zu hundert Prozent ansprechen.
Maron trifft nach einem Zeitsprung die echte Jeanne D'Arc und auch Noyn sorgt für reichlich Trouble mit seinen komischen Geständnissen und Bezeugungen. Die Szenen mit Jeanne D'Arc waren leider zu wenig, das hätte Tanemura bestimmt besser ausführen können.
Miyako's Charakter kam meiner Meinung nach in diesem Band erst richtig schön zur Geltung. Bisher wurde sie ihrer Rolle nicht ganz so gerecht, deshalb nenne ich Band sechs ab jetzt heimlich meinen Wie ich mich über Miyako's Rückkehr freute. Ich weiß, sie war nie weg, aber besondere Bedeutung hatte sie für die Story nicht - da war ihre Rolle im Anime schon deutlich größer.
In Band sechs gibt es außerdem viele witzige Szenen, die mich zum schmunzeln bringen konnten. Allein dafür hat sich der Band gelohnt :)
Insgesamt handelt dieser Band wieder von Liebe, Vertrauen, Freundschaft, aber auch Hass, Verzweiflung und Distanz. Tanemura packt wieder alles aus, was sie bieten kann und zieht mich in ihren Bann.
In einem Ruck war es ausgelesen und dank des fiesen Cliffhangers, der den entscheidenden Kampf zwischen Maron und Fynn einleitet, werde ich direkt Band sieben verschlingen.
Da ich nach Band fünf (der einfach fantastisch war) dachte, das ganze Katz und Maus Spiel sei beendet, die Gefühle entknotet und nur noch eine wahre Schlacht zu kämpfen, war das ein wenig ernüchternd. Doch Maron beweist etwas sehr schönes: Sie lässt es zu, dass die negativen Gefühle sie nicht bedrücken, sondern sie stärken.
Auch diesmal war der Manga wahnsinnig toll gezeichnet - das waren sie eigentlich alle - aber die Story konnte mich nicht zu hundert Prozent ansprechen.

Maron falls from her seventh floor apartment balcony, and Noin tries to catch her but, alas, they both fall and Maron's body is left in a coma-like state. When they both awake, their souls had traveled back through time 550 years in Europe... on the day before Jeanne d'Arc's execution! It appears that they really have time traveled for everything they do has an influence on the future. Will Maron take this chance to change fate and save Jeanne and Noin from ever having to face her cruel demise and his everlasting possession? Or does Jeanne have other plans? And when, or if, she wakes up... will Maron finally have the resolve to tell Chiaki she loves him, and to face all of her other fears..?
Man, it iS HEATING UP! I could almost give this book five stars, but it, of course, has its fault and so it was not perfect enough at this time. This made me love just about each and every character all the more. Arina is so good at doing that I can't believe it. Although I wish that she hadn't changed her artwork so much over the years. :( It was probably the best like this, Full Moon's artwork was cute too, but not like this. (And her newer works are even stranger!)

Allgemein: Jeanne ist einer meiner liebsten Manga. Er besticht durch eine wunderbare Geschichte, Charaktere zum Einfühlen, Geschehnisse aus dem Alltag als auch fantastische Begebenheiten. Jeanne beinhaltet alles, was ich liebe: Humor, Überraschungen, Gefühle, Tiefgang, Freundschaft, Liebe, Verantwortung und Fantasie.
Band 6: Wir lernen Jeanne D'Arc kennen und darauf hatte ich mich sehr gefreut. Auch Noyn und die anderen Charaktere haben wieder ihre Auftritte. Marron muss einiges überwinden und viele Schwierigkeiten warten auf sie. Doch ihr toller Charakter lässt sie das alles überstehen. Wie immer ist das Band toll gezeichnet und wundervoll geschrieben. Hach. Und Jeanne D'arc ist großartig :) Mir gefällt ihr Auftritt, auch wenn er nur sehr kurz war.

Still enjoyed this one, but felt the story wasn't quite as strong as some of the other volumes in the series. Some events take place with certain core characters that felt unlikely (keeping it vague to remain spoiler free). Appreciated getting more page time with Access again and Minazuki's part at the end was fun. Nice to see him developing a backbone. Oh, and the hospital scene with Chiaki and Maron is so very sweet. Onto volume 7!

God, that was so annoying with the ! I don't really get how Chiaki could be fooled by a demon when he has demon sensing abilities and an angel by his side, but..... okay.... I guess the author felt obligated to explore that? Anyway, it ended well. And I really enjoyed Minazuki's part at the end!! The end end of this volume is really mysterious!! :D
