When Lucy discovers several pages missing from an old book of poems at her school library, she and her friends can’t help but wonder which poems were torn out—and why. Their search uncovers a strange the book was checked out fifty years ago, yet there’s no record of it ever being returned.Even more disturbing, every copy in town has the exact same pages missing.

Determined to solve the mystery, Lucy and her latchkey friends trace the puzzle back to the town’s first Golden Glass Poetry Contest—and the celebrated winner who borrowed the book decades ago. With their school’s struggling arts program tied to this year’s competition, the kids must decide whether exposing the truth is worth destroying the arts department and shattering a cherished hometown legend.
