Trinity of Blood: The Complete Saga

Rate this book
For fans of Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, Tombstone, The Lost Boys, and True Blood, the Trinity of Blood MM to MMF vampire romance saga follows a triad of fated mates as they cross oceans of time, face the demons on their trail, and stake their claim on the happiness they deserve. Told in three grounded, time period novellas—spanning the Old West, the L.A. goth scene of the 1980s, and present day Maine—Trinity of Blood is a queer, paranormal romance that is both darkly humorous and deeply healing.

Part Bury Me With My Boots On (1885)

In the boomtown of Opalite, Damon's future is as predictable as the familiar rotation of evening customers at the House of Eternal Moonlight. When an alluring stranger rides into town and the dead bodies start piling up, this sensitive gunslinger is forced to choose between the only home he’s ever known and a connection he cannot explain.

Part Vampires Totally Suck (1985)

A rundown goth clothing store in a Los Angeles shopping mall may seem like a cliche setting for a reinvention, but Star has little choice after her old life crashes and burns. When she discovers the two men she works for are vampires, this Valley Girl turned goth heroine embraces her fate, more than ready to sharpen her fangs and stand up for the comeback she deserves.

Part Come Out & Prey (2026)

The night he became a vampire against his will, on a small island in the country now known as the Philippines, Makisig believed his life was over. Three hundred years, plus a name change and an ocean voyage later, Max meets his first eternal companion. Death tries to intervene, but the pair escape, and after a century together, find their “third.” When an old nemesis intent on revenge rises from the grave, they are forced to go on the run once again.

Decades later, they've found sanctuary, hidden in plain sight among ghostly, Northeastern pines and supernatural creatures like themselves. Despite this newfound security, Max struggles to let down his guard, even to those willing to love him unconditionally. When the past arrives on his doorstep, he must decide if the blood staining his hands is a mark of damnation or a chance for absolution from the guilt still weighing heavy on his immortal soul.

This book is actually a collection of 3 novellas that follow the same vampire couple turned throuple.
In the first novella, Damon, who works at a brothel, meets and falls for Max, a mysterious vampire. While the first novella/part is MM, the second part is an 80s novella where they find their “third,” Star. The final part takes place in current time!

I really liked the concept of this book! How cool to have cowboys, 80s mall goths, and contemporary romance all in one! I really like this author, and I really loved the unique relationship that they had. The spicy times were very fun and creative, and you KNOW I love me some k*nky vampires!

The only place where this book didn’t really grab me was the plot. The plot was kind of simple, and the side characters / villains weren’t developed enough for me to really be invested. There was a lot of telling instead of showing. Since the stories were novellas, maybe there was just too much that needed to be developed packed into such a short format.

Overall, it was still a fun mini-trilogy!

I loved this MM -> MMF vampire romance so much, I'm a sucker for polyamory! It's got sweetness, all the feels, spice, fated mates, hurt/comfort, emotional hits, bloody drama, action & suspense to boot!
I'm happy I got the #ARC for this. The cover arts are gorgeous.

It's separated into 3 time periods, they all have a small HEA at the end but enough left over that binds the whole story cohesively. They do feel like novellas in a series (as they were originally that) then parts of a book. Especially with the time jumps & some off-page relationship developments.

I loved the MCs & their dynamics. Max the charming dom, Damon the broody pretty boy, Star the sassy valley goth girl. How their relationship changes & grows gave me the feels! I liked the message that we're all works in progress in terms of healing, I'm glad they all get therapy. How the kink evolves is sexy to see! M loves orgasm control 😂.

It's NOT too angsty but part 2 got me sobbing. I HURT & WANTED. Wished for communication 😅. Omg the emotional hits! Part 1 was a great start & part 3 was the fluff I wanted 😍. All 3 parts has suspense & climax action which is good. Revenge on Bad guys is always a pleasure 😈. I liked seeing them with friends at the end, it's so sweet. They're not alone anymore 🥹. The bonus was sweet! Lore is less but interesting & Vamp powers are cool! I hope for spin-offs.

I've written in-depth review for each part seperately as I was reading through them, you can find them at: (warning - rant)

Cowboys, 80s, and contemporary vampire romance all in one book. That alone had me completely on board.

And part one delivers. Damon and Max in the Old West is genuinely fun, the dynamic between them works, and the spice is creative and playful. You can feel the potential of what this could be.

Which is exactly why the time jumps hurt. They came a little too fast with too little bridge. And Star, while feisty, never fully convinced me. I understood that Max and Damon wanted her. I just never felt why.

I felt like this story needed more room. The novella format is simply too tight for three time periods, three relationship dynamics, and villains worth caring about. There is a lot of telling where showing was needed, and the plot oftentimes stays surface level.

I still like this author (I adore her The Yaga’s Riders series) and I love what she was going for here. The foundation is genuinely there. If the concept grabs you, definitely give it a go!

I loved this novella series. As recommended by the author I read Tales from Strange Vacationland before I read the third and final part/novella, and I feel like that was the way to go because now when those characters appeared in the story I knew who and what they were.
I loved how the story started out and how we went through three time periods and how Max and Damon's story changed and evolved to include Star as well. I loved their their different dynamics and how their individual relationships were different. I loved it when they were all together and I could see them all interact and play off each other, but I also loved their one on one moments as well. I loved how protective they were of each other and also how much they encouraged each other to do things and pursue their passions. I loved all the action and how the baddies got their just desserts.

This was a very fun read that sucked(pun intended) me in from the get go. I loved the journey they were on and how even if immortal they worked on their trauma.

Love Bonds

Dee’s Grade: A

I love these vampire men. I can’t wait to see where their story goes. Max and Damon are clearly both in need of love and hopefully find it with each other.

Dee’s Grade: A

This part adds an additional partner to their relationship. I appreciate that the addition of Star was not about fixing their issues but about working on their issues while expanding their love.

Dee’s Grade: A

The third part answered lingering questions and allowed us to see where our throuple was years later. They were more settled and that was good. They also had found a way to get what they needed from each in individual dynamics as well as all together.

A book about hot vampires with intrigue and adventure will always be a win to me.

I loved these 3 connected stories. The different time periods were fun to explore with the 1800's western era and introducing Damon at the brothel, to the 80's goth and punk scene and meeting Star, through to current time with the trio.
It was beautiful seeing their love story unfold and how well they all fit together and balanced each other out. They have distrint personalities, and I loved seeing them embrace their quirks and needs.
Max and Damon were adorable together, and Star added that extra layer to their found family.

ARC Review: I love all of C’s books that I’ve read so far, so I was so excited to get the chance to arc read this. I’m so glad I didn’t have to wait for each novella to come out and got to just read it as one book! Not gonna lie, I wish each of the novellas were actual full books. There was so much more I wanted to learn and explore in each era they were in. Still amazing and I loved it, I just needed more which is what I say with her regular books anyway cause I never want them to end! I loved Damon and Max, but having Star there after to finally bring in that missing piece they needed was wonderful. Guys and their terrible communication skills, am I right? lol Overall, loved it and can’t wait for more of her books and more of lemonade doodles’ covers cause😮‍💨

Okay, one question. Why exactly did we get 14 pages of trigger warnings for a 400 page book? They out hurrr covering ALL the bases.

I think the main thing that bothered me… and it’s dumb, but just hear me out… THEIR NAMES WERE BACKWARDS. Damon should have been the Vampire and Max should have been the human. Max was a stupid name for a vampire 🤮 It messed with the vibe of the whole book for me. Even after Damon was turned, he still wasn’t a “Damon”. It just didn’t fit at all. Maybe if Makisig (Max’s real name) had been used instead of Max… but… ugh. (And this has NOTHING to do with Vampire Diaries).

Max (Makisig) and Damon’s relationship was awkward from the very beginning. I didn’t FEEL anything while reading their “love story”, which btw just all of sudden jumps forward 15 years and it’s like they don’t even like eachother anymore until Star arrives?? Come on now. I didn’t like Max trying to arrange everything behind Damon’s back. I had NOTHING against the poly love story, I actually really love it (usually) but this relationship just was not fleshed out enough for me to even care what happened with any of them. The characters weren’t developed enough and I found the plot to be pretty boring (along with the villains). The concept was definitely there, just wish it had been executed a little differently.

I liked that the book spanned a wide array of timelines, we get the Old West, the L.A. goth scene of the 1980s, and present day Maine. But I didn’t feel like there was ENOUGH to keep me interested in whatever timeline they were in.

Bury Me with My Boots On:

As soon as I saw that Rochelle’s next book was going to be a queer western with vampires, I was instantly sold and couldn’t wait. And needless to say, I devoured this book and couldn’t put it down.

Damon has lived his life in the House of Eternal Moonlight as a faro dealer, and occasional sex worker. When a wealthy man named Max Luna arrives and insists on Damon be his companion he finds himself struggling to resist him. But the town is no longer safe for Damon after a dead body is found in the back alleyway.

This was a fantastic vampire historical romance. I was hooked on Damon and Max’s story from the beginning. Damon grew up in a brothel and while he isn’t a dove, he still is owned by the Madame. He quickly realizes how fragile his current life is when the Madame offers him up to Max. I really like Damon. He is instantly smitten by Max but doesn’t fall into his arms right away because he doesn’t trust a rich man. I really loved seeing him fall for Max, especially as Max worshiped him and his body.

Max is a 300+ year old vampire from what is now considered the Philippines. He has been searching the world for his mate and finally found him in Damon. I loved Max and how he fell so hard and fast for Damon. He was possessive, but also sweet and kind to Damon. He showed Damon the wonders of intimacy during sex and worshiped the man. I also really loved how carefree he was about killing his enemies or those who get in his way.

Rochelle has created another fascinating world centered around vampires in the 1880s. I loved the worldbuilding and how this trilogy will span multiple centuries as it progresses. I really can’t wait to read the rest of the series and see how these two’s futures play out and how they end up in a triad.

TW: blood; violence and death; attempted hanging; discussions of colonization and genocide; death of family;

Vampires Totally Suck:

After reading the previous book, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this because I need more of Max and Damon. It’s been 100 years since they met, and now they are owners of a gothic clothing store called Sizzling Discourse, which wasn’t what I was expecting them to be doing. I also wasn’t expecting them to be having a bit of relationship issues, but I should have since Damon struggled with his insecurities in the first book.

These two still love each other so much but Damon has let his insecurities about being wanted and loved forever get into his head. He also is struggling with wanting to submit completely to Max but being afraid to let himself. I love Damon so much and it hurts to see that he has been struggling for so long with his insecurities and fear of rejection, especially when Max worships him. While a third won’t fix their issues, we do see that it helps Damon accept himself a little more and finally let Max in, which I was so happy with.

That leads us to Star, who was fantastic. I loved her so much, especially since she was finally being true to herself and embracing the style she really wanted. She was bold, sassy, and just so accepting of everything. While she won’t fix all of Max and Damon’s problems, we do see that she helps them be able to start to work through the issues, which is fantastic. I also really loved how bloodthirst Star ended up being and that she let Max take out the trash of an ex-best friend.

Basically, this was a fantastic and steamy continuation of this series. I am really loving these three and look forward to reading the next book to see how their relationship progresses. Also I really love how these are all set in different eras and we can see the progression of their relationships, style, and personalities.

TW: use of derogatory terms (whore, slut, etc.); death of parents mentioned; stalker and emotionally abusive ex-friend; violence, blood and gore;

Come Out & Prey:

It’s been forty years since Max and Damon found Star and ran from California. They are now living in Maine and Max is helping build a community of monsters and humans. When Max realizes his mates might be in danger again, he struggles with his need to protect them, while also dealing with the memories of his past. Will this finally push Max to seek help for his past or will it push his mates away?

This was a great conclusion for this trilogy. Max, Star, and Damon are thriving in Maine, especially Star and Damon who have put in the effort to deal with their trauma. Max still refuses to discuss his past but we can quickly see that it is affecting him, even though he tries to deny it.

I really loved these three and their relationship dynamics. Their love is so strong and you can really see how they take care of each other, and not just sexually. I loved Damon and Star taking care of Max and letting him be protective of them. Everything about this triad is about acceptance and loving each other as they are and I was totally here for it.

In this we also learn more about the hater Vlad and why he has such a stick up his ass towards them when they were in California. It was great to learn the truth about Vlad and what really triggered past events. I also really loved that these revelations came with the bonus of Damon getting back some of his family.

Overall a fantastic continuation and ending for these three. I really enjoyed this trilogy and seeing these three find each other. Also the cameos in this from Tales of Strange Vacationland were a great little bonus.

TW: blood; racism; colonization; PTSD; derogatory terms used; violence; death;

Damon: “Pet…” he purred, lowering himself to his knees between my legs. “I assure you, I do not mind. I have a feeling it will be all I can do to not devour you whole.”
Please. Please devour me.
By some blessed miracle, I didn’t say that out loud, mostly because I became distracted by how this incredibly well- dressed man had begun to remove my filthy boots.
“You don’t need to—” I began.
Max silenced me with a look. “I know. I want to. Let me take care of you.”
As astounding as his words were, there was a clear command in his tone, and even more astounding was my willingness to obey.
Just for him. For now… “Yes, sir,”

Star: “C’mon, baby,” he murmured against me, twisting his fingers, making me see stars. “Give me what’s mine.”
“Anything!” I gasped, and I meant it. “I’ll give you anything you want, just…”
Please!
“Anything, huh?” Max chuckled low and blew on my throbbing clit. “What if what we want is you? For us. For all eternity…”
“You can have me—you both can,” I sobbed, my legs shaking as I neared the edge. “Take whatever you want.”
Anything, anything, anything.
“Good. Girl.”

A sharp sting accompanied my aftershocks, and I blinked open my heavy eyelids to find Max grazing his fangs along my inner thigh. He smiled softly, looking weirdly sweet despite the gore. “Can I bite you, baby?” His voice was low and soothing, and I didn’t even care if he was using his witchy witchcraft on me. “I won’t drink too much, and I promise, I won’t make you one of us until you’re ready…”
Until I’m ready. Until… “Yes, Sir. Green,”

I’m a huge fan of C. Rochelle, both the author herself and her writing, so I’m sure it’s exactly zero amounts surprising that I loved this book. I’ve been on her ARC team for multiple years now, so I had the pleasure of reading the short story version of the second novella of this saga that was in the anthology and I loved it then, but this expanded version, with all its connections to the Vacationland world, was somehow even better? I love the way that C. fleshed out Damon and Max’s stories, and then Damon, Max, and Star’s combined stories, and the way she tied up all the little loose ends with the third installment. It was incredibly satisfying to be able to read all three at once and I love all the little tweaks that she made to their story without changing all the things that made their story unique and interesting. Speaking both from a reader and writer perspective, I think it can be easy to get caught up in making too many changes during a re-write and C. expertly navigated that in a way that I envy as a writer and appreciate as a reader.

I love that C. *goes there* with things that other people might not dare to, or might offend people with more delicate sensibilities, and I think Trinity of Blood was a good place to do that. I personally loved all the more taboo elements, the ones involving blood (and menstruation) and the more hedonistic “morals” of a vampire (especially pre-Star) which I’m sure some people will take issue with were done really well in my opinion. I enjoy the way C. pushes the envelope so to speak, to bring us spicier and often more emotional content. She’s a mastermind when it comes to emotional baggage and healing from trauma, which is a huge draw to her writing for me. She’s not afraid to let things get messy to give her character’s their often hard-earned HEAs.

Trinity of Blood is steamy (spicy even, with its kink elements) but at its core it is also romantic and emotional, and it brings together three traumatized but deserving people that are meant to be happy together in a really entertaining way with her tongue-in-cheek humor, snarky banter, and a twisty plot that spans centuries.

I would recommend it to vampire lovers, folks that enjoy a good polyamorous story with supernatural elements, and really anyone that enjoys a healthy dose of plot with their smut!

Thank you, C. for the review copy! Always a pleasure reading for you ♥️

I read all three seperately, but I thought I'd put my reviews under the completed saga as well. That way miss Rochelle has more reviews, and she deserves ALL the good reviews in the universe tbh.

1. Bury me with my boots on
🌶️🌶️🌶️
I have 1 complaint, and 1 complaint only. I. Need. MORE. I love these 2 murder soulmates already, and this was only like 145 pages! Because of that it went a little faster than I'd like, but when it's a mate/ soulmate thing I can forgive the speed with which the relationship moves 😆 Despite that, I did feel you got to know each character enough to get a sens of who they were and how they thought. Which is impressive to achieve in such a short time. I can't wait to see how Star gets added to that delicious mix!

2. Vampires totally suck
🌶️🌶️.5
It's a fun continuation of Max and Damon's story, adding Star to the mix! I had mixed feelings. On one hand I didn't like them constantly talking about 'the third', it felt a bit too much like Unicorn hunting. But I do looove an MMF (and Star is a good and fun addition!). I also didn't like the insinuation that Star was needed to get Damon's head out of his assand realise his true potential and feelings and stuff. Though, Rochelle does write at some point that 'both men still had to work through their issues separately from Star'.
I loved the eighties slang and references and the ex-bestie being called Heather 🤭
Star, like Damon in book 1, was on the whole vampire train very quickly and without a whole lot of forethought 🤣 But of course in 150 pages you gotta work fast. 😆 All in all, a quick, fun and spicy ride! Can't wait to see what comes next!

3. Come out and prey
🌶️🌶️🌶️
Third part of the Trinity of Blood series and a lovely conclusion to their story! It's really fun to see them in different time periods! I just knew Max would not be social media/ computer savvy, and Damon and Star social media queens. I also loved the mental health/ trauma representation for Max, he deserved some healing and I'm so happy he got it.
The conclusion with the 'big bad' was a bit too quickly handled, but still well done for a short book like this. The side characters were lovely and it was a good thing I read 'Tales form strange vacationland' for their back stories!
I can't wait for more paranormal stories from this universe! Or honestly any universe miss Rochelle whips up from her mind, she never misses!

Review of Trinity of Blood by C. Rochelle
Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🔥🔥🔥.5

I love me some vampires! Telling me you're going to give me queer, polyamourous, fated mates in a throuple, vampires say less.

I first read this trio in the short story when the 80s section was in The Creepy Court Anthology and I feel in love with Star, Damon, and Max right away. I loved the humor, nostalgia, chemistry and spice. I was so excited to hear about Damon and Max's own fated mates origin story, which takes place 100 years
earlier.

Part 1: Bury Me With My Boots On
MM Fated Mates in 1885

Damon and Max are just so everything. I can't say anything without spoiling this whole section of the story. But, I wound up highlighting many quotable lines and I also enjoyed many of the side characters around the western saloon brothel.

Part 2: Vampires Totally Suck 1985

I love the 80s nostalgia of this part. It's like all the best 80s vampire movies. All the vibes are immaculate. There's a scene late-ish in this part with Damon and Star where she helps him to be himself again and I just live for that part. It's very clear to me that they are all so perfect for each other and complete eachother as fated mates. It just works.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
🔥🔥🔥.5

Part 3: Come Out and Prey 2026

I loved seeing how the trio have progressed into modern times forty years later after we leave of with everything going down in the previous part. There are some fun side characters in this part as well. Definitely some fun variety of spice. I enjoyed seeing were the characters have developed. [ I also want to note if you enjoyed the side characters like Billie or mags you can read about them in their stories in the Strange Vacationland Collection by C. Rochelle]
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🔥🔥🔥.5

I love seeing the trio both being totally fang banging in the 80s and reclaiming that vintage Victorian Gothic vibe in the eerie woods of Maine in 2026.

Max and Damon's story is very romantic and sweet in a lot of ways. Eventhough there is the grit of the west and the backdrop of eternal night. "Are you wooing me sir?" Will always remain one of my favorite romantic lines from a book it's just so cute and kind of unassuming and reminiscent of new relationships.

C. Rochelle continues to impress!! Trinity of Blood is a time spanning vampire romance that starts in the American West heads to a gothic hot spot 80's mall and ends up in moody modern day Maine.

I feel like there isn't too much I can say that doesn't feel spoilery?! Other than OMG! Yes! What?! Vengeance is ours!! Personal growth and accountability...they are that girl (gender neutral)!! *fans self and drinks some water cause...oh, we be thirsty* lol.

Max, Damon, and Star are fully fleshed out with HAWT dynamics that shift, grow, and strengthen as their relationship deepens. We meet Max and Damon in part 1 and then add Star in parts 2 and 3. (MM to MMF, polycule goodness!)

I really appreciated how well researched the backstory and period bits are without the pace feeling bogged down. Some things worth a personal deep dive per-colonialist indigenous cultures of modern day Phillipines and some you could look it up but it's in the CW for a reason -- I'm looking at you Tuli! iykyk.

To wrangle individual arcs and plots in each era (1885, 1985, 2026), while also making an overarching romantic plot with spicy spice, emotional development, and historical tidbits? Just, it's wildly impressive to me to keep all those moving pieces moving together in ways that delight and surprise.

Not to mention, but Imma mention it, re-working part part 2 from a previously released standalone short into the expanded tasty morsel it is now, seamlessly weaving it into the larger narrative?? Like, what?! Mindblowing in all the best ways.

If you're looking for queer vampires? Love black cats/golden retrievers/doberman coded mcs? With spicy spice and emotional intimacy? With two period pieces (American West and 80's gothic mall) ending up in modern day Maine? Then what are you doing? Stop reading reviews and go sink your teeth into this beaut!!

I’ve been thinking about writing this review since yesterday. Trinity of Blood was a rollercoaster ride through time. It is full of excitement, danger, adventure, fate and heat. So. Much. Heat. (And danger.)

I haven’t read many books in the past several years where a poly relationship has men and women. I’ve been wanting to branch out again and see what books are being written now and what I’ve missed over the past several years. I am so happy I discovered C. Rochelle and the amazing worlds and characters she creates.

Trinity of Blood starts out in 1885 as an MM relationship between Max and Damon. The next part of the book takes our characters to 1985 and introduces Star into their relationship. The third and final part of the book brings our characters to modern times and 2026. There are a lot of years and events that needed to have a resolution in the final part and everything was wrapped up was in a most satisfactory way.

I love both Max and Damon, their relationship as a duo was incredible but adding star into their dynamic brought so much to their relationship. It felt like she had been missing and was the final piece that would make them all stronger and able to handle whatever the world tossed at them. She is a tough and protective woman. The heat level before the addition of Star was high, adding her into the mix increased that to inferno levels.

Overall, I loved this book. I did discover that there were a few things I was a bit uncomfortable with that I didn't think I would be when reading the content warnings. But that is 100% on me and didn’t take too much enjoyment from reading the book. I highly recommend it, but take heed of the CW/TW’s. C. Rochelle is great at including comprehensive lists that are very helpful.

I received an early copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

✨✨Arc Review✨✨
Trinity of Blood is the complete saga of vampire novellas written by C. Rochelle. I’ve broken up my review into each novella!

Bury me with my Boots on: This was such a perfect beginning to the series! I loved how Max and Damon interacted with each other and how we get their inner thoughts as well as what they’re saying out loud. There were quite a few scenes that left me with dry mouth and sweaty palms because they were so damned SPICY! This gives off the vibes of a gritty late 80s to early 90s vampire movie meets the movie Wild Wild West if that makes sense and I was totally living for it! I cannot wait to see where this story goes!

Vampires Totally Suck: This one opens in the 80s!! I loved all the throwbacks we get in the writing it was a lot of fun! This one is set in a movie and we meet Mac and Damon’s third Star! It’s discovered some vampire mated pairs can have a third and Star completes them 🥹🥹🥹 the spice in this one was next tier!! At one point Star gets her period and you can just imagine how that went down … anyways I highly recommend this series 😩🤌

Come Out and Prey: seeing these three throughout the years has been so satisfying! I love seeing how these characters change and adapt to the way the world changes around them! I loved seeing their strong bond and also them trying to figure out a massive problem together!

All together this trilogy is fantastic!! If you are looking for a vampire novella to sink your teeth into definitely add this to your list! There were so many moments reading these books that I felt like I was having an out of body experience because the writing is just so 😮‍💨🔥😩🤌💗 I have no words just emojis! This is definitely a new favorite by one of my favorite authors for sure!

This a MM-->MMF trilogy.

I loved the idea behind this three part saga. Unfortunately the execution left me wanting. I really enjoyed part one, Bury Me With My Boots On, where we're introduced to Max and Damon in the Old West. However the time jump to part two, Vampires Totally Suck drops us in the 1980s in the middle of a relationship that feels miles different from where we last left off. I found it jarring and would have preferred more details as to how the relationship went from there to here. It's in part two that we meet Star. Star is feisty, but I never really felt why Max and Damon were drawn to her. Another time jump takes us to part three, Come Out & Prey, set in 2026. I hate to say it, but I found part three to be fairly boring. I was actually more interested in the tease of a relationship starting between two side characters. Overall it's not bad, but I think it would have worked better as three full-length novels tied together rather than novellas. The extra space is needed to flesh things out deeper than surface level.

Trinity of Blood takes place in the Strange Vacationland universe. The author highly recommends reading two short stories from the same universe, Be Not Afraid, and You Can't Get There From Here, between part two and part three of the book. The stories are about a few side characters who make appearances in Come Out & Prey. I did read those short stories, but they honestly aren't necessary reading for the trilogy. The characters in the shorts certainly aren't pivotal to the action in part three. However, they are worth checking out if you want some backstory on where the trio end up, or if you want to know exactly what Connor is.

Note: I received an advance copy in exchange for a voluntary, honest review.

Sultry, emotional, filthy gothic perfection wrapped in a bow with edge of your seat intrigue.

Told in three parts set in different time periods you get SO much packed into one novel…

Part one was an explosive start in 1885 with Max finding his mate, Damon, in a brothel in the old west. It was full of found family, high tension, an inevitable pull, and absolute havoc. It gave Lestat meets Wyatt Earp fever dream in the best way and I was LIVING for it.

Part two was an 80’s goth vampire, hot and horny, revenge plot dream come true. With the introduction of Star, a snarky new employee and third mate for the couple we get 80’s nostalgia, witty banter, grumpy mates, sizzling spice, and a plot right out of the best Blockbuster movie.

And finally, In the third part, we get an edge-of-your-seat conclusion filled with heat, tension, hurt, and healing set in the witchy woods of Maine.

Past hurts, former enemies, and internal struggles swirl together to make a gripping tale full of twists, turns, and murder-as-a-love language. The found family and growth by the end is utterly satisfying. Highly recommend this epic tale.

What you’ll get:
•MM to MMF
•Polyamory + Bi Rep
•Vampires
•Sunshine/Grumpy/Sassy
• Three Time Periods:
-Old West
-1980’s LA
-Present Day Witchy Woods of Maine
•Tragic backstories
•Fated Mates
•Hurt/Comfort
•Murder as a Love Language
•Protective MCs
•Pleasure Dom and 2 Switches
•Blood Play
•Piercings
•Pegging
•Primal Play

I read this book as it came out separately in 3 novella-type books. I was surprised to read it again as one book and see a LOT of things I had missed originally. There’s just so much story packed into this. The series is broken up into the 1800s where we meet Max and later Damon, the 1980s where we meet Star, and then present day where the 3 fight an unseen foe for their hard-won HEA. The writing is smooth and flows beautifully. The world building is on point and easy to get lost in. The spice is spicy and so right in time. The love and compassion shown to one another makes me long for my very own vampire mate/s. Overall, I feel like I was along for the ride, which is something I adore. There’s a storyline from Strange Vacationland that is not included but can be read separately. It doesn’t take away from the book to miss this portion but does help to understand some of the side characters. This author is always one that I keep my eye out for, and I can unbiasedly confirm this series is amazing. I am still pleasantly surprised by all the information that was researched to make this book and the characters authentic. Down to the TW warnings that are likely the most thorough in existence and the glossary!! Chefs kiss perfection! You won’t be sad you read this. I hope to hear more soon from the folks within this book. We need more already!!

I received this ARC for my honest opinion. Trinity of Blood by C. Rochelle was a fabulous read through the years. I really enjoyed how it started in 1885 with Damon and Max the start of their journey together. I enjoyed it being about vampires. Max and the way that he cares for Damon is so deep and affectionate. It’s the yearning and wanting which draws you in. The next part which takes place in 1985 in LA gets them as owners of a goth clothing store. Max and Damon meet Star who becomes their third. The way they both care for her in their own way. Damon seeing much of himself in Star and realizing what he needs from both of them. They all fight hard to make sure their family is safe and flee LA. The third part takes place in 2026 in Maine. Max struggles with letting people he in he wants to protect because of how he was turned and couldn’t protect his family from his maker. Star and Damon both working through their own stuff and seeing therapist to make sure they are doing better. Damon no longer is lacking the confidence he has back in 1885 he is a clothing designer, while Star still does makeup and his doll for his line. They all help supernatural's find sanctuary. An old nemesis comes back and tries to tear them apart. These novella's that were put into the complete saga had me hooked and I could not put them down. C. Rochelle does it every time. I highly recommend reading.

I personally waited to binge all 3 books so if you’re the same, now’s your chance! Dust off the plastic fangs and grab that kindle so you too can fall in love with Star, Damon and Max.

I adored these 3 in the Creepy Court anthology so getting their expanded story was EVERYTHING. I’m a sucker for a vampire romance and then you make them queer? Sign me TF up 👏🏼 I loved all of them equally but gotta give my girl Star her kudos for reeling in these vampire men and always speaking her mind. I love a bad bitch FMC. I too would also jump at the opportunity of forever with two vampires and not hesitate to do so, same girl…same. I loved how the romances between the trio were all different in their own ways but their fluid dynamics had my heart clenching. They were always there for one another. And the drama in the final book reaching its peak had me like whaaaaaattttt?! Sneaky sneaky! I don’t want to spoil anything but I am HIGHLY awaiting the story of certain side characters we meet and I’m already in love with 🤭 I also love love love how C. always weaves in real emotions and struggles her characters are facing internally because it makes them feel so real and authentic. No 2D characters around these parts!

Alright, I’ll stop yapping but please go read this series! You could easily binge all three books, I dare ya.

This collection was really outside my usual read as normally only read MM and hate things set in the far past but as by one of my fav authors thought i would give it a go. So well written it really weaves together three distinct time periods into one cohesive and surprisingly emotional vampire saga. Moving from the grit of the Old West to the neon-drenched 80s goth scene and into a more reflective present day, each story adds another layer to a romance that spans centuries.

What stands out most is how naturally the connections build. Damon, Star, and Max all have their own histories, wounds, and identities, and the story takes its time showing how those differences don’t divide them, they complete each other. The dynamic never feels forced; instead, it grows into something that feels both fated and earned.

There’s a nice balance between darker themes such as violence, revenge, and the weight of immortality and moments of warmth, humour, and genuine tenderness. The tone shifts well across the timelines without losing that core emotional thread.

Overall, it’s an engaging blend of gothic romance and found family, with just enough edge to keep things interesting. A satisfying read for anyone who enjoys character-driven paranormal stories with a bit of bite. HIghly enjoyable

I love these characters so much! The way it was written through 3 different time frames was really fun and interesting. I love that we got to see the relationship evolve over such a vast time period, the late 1800s, 1980s, and current day- in only a little over 300 pages.

Max and Damon in the old west had me feeling all of the feels. Hearing Damon's backstory was bittersweet. I laughed out loud several times throughout the whole book. "Are you wooing me, sir?!" 😂🥰

In the 1980s, they meet Star. I don't want to give the story away, but just know the three of them are meant to be together. The understanding and support they give to eachother is truly beautiful. It may include a little sweet, sweet revenge 😈. It definitely includes a lot of 🌶🌶🌶.

Current day we learn Max's full backstory and, of course, the HEA. It's is full of surprises, healing, laughs, and love.

You feel like you are in the time periods as you go through the story. The clothing and makeup, the slang, the overall vibes..all on point! The spice is spicing throughout the whole book as well 🔥🥵🔥!

I highly recommend this one!

I received an ARC from the author. This review was voluntarily written and is 100% honest.

The book was made up of three novellas, each a different time period and I really enjoyed how the story flowed. The first novella followed Damon and Max in the 1880's, Max a 300 year old Vampire with a mysterious past and Damon a gunslinger working and living in a brothel.
The next novella features in the 1980s where the pair meet Star a gothic babe that's down on her luck but absolutely down for the boy's.
The last novella is set in the current year following the story of Max, Damon and Star as they explore their relationship and bring the trio closer together.
I really enjoyed the three different novellas style, I found it really easy to digest and to follow. This is a sweet tale with intrigue, exploring immortality, relationships that are made to last the ages.
Please make sure you read the trigger warnings before reading.

I received this as an ARC but this is a completely honest review.

Another winner by C. Rochelle. I received this book as an ARC. I don't often read stories involving anything FM but I still really enjoyed this book. It's actually three different novella rolled into one. And no one can go wrong with vampires. 😏 I love everything about it. Poly, fated mates, etc. It's kind of interesting seeing how they grow together and go through the times together. We start in the 1880s end up in current times which is always fun seeing how vampires adapt to all the changes life brings lol. It's a very fun historical romance. And what's better is... Vampires. I've not read a whole lot from C. Rochelle, but everything I have read has been amazing. I'm lucky to be on the ARC time and get early access to these stories. And always the C. Rochelle spice is unmatched. I don't want to give away too much to prevent spoilers but if you like throuples, vampires, and historical romance... Then this book is for you!

The Trinity of Blood Saga consists of three vampire romance novellas. Each novella builds on the next in a story continuation Max, Damon, and Star and the origins of their found family spanning over three different time periods. It opens with Bury Me with My Boots On - which focus only on the relationship between Max and Damon (MM). The second is Vampires Totally Suck - introduces Star making their duo a trio, this is where the story becomes (MMF), and it all comes to a conclusion with Come Out and Prey where they face a blast from the past that puts them all in jeopardy. Each books dives deeper into the relationship between the characters and touches on deep traumas and their desperate need for healing.

I loved watching how they adapted to new time periods, and how they stand by each other despite the slightly self sabotaging ways of Max and Damon. The chemistry between the three is off the charts, they each bring in their own energy to the trio and together they blend well together - Star and Damon with their creativity and Max with his...well everything. Max has quickly become one of my favorite C. Rochelle characters, his Nasty Daddy energy had me blushing and kicking my feet constantly. There has never been a book by this author that I have read that I did not love, and this one did not disappoint. I do highly suggest that before diving into the third novella of in this book that you read the two short stories from C. Rochelle’s Strange Vacation land since the characters will make an appearance, while it is not a requirement to be able to follow along it will enhance the reading experience and you will not regret it in the slightest!

A fated mate vampire trio set in the wild west to bitchin’ 80’s to current day? I thought this trilogy of novellas had it all.

Unfortunately, something just didn’t click with me. I liked our characters well enough, but each of them had a quirk to them that I found a bit insufferable.

The spice was definitely spicing, though. I know some are weary of poly stories because they think someone will be left out, but I didn’t see that as an issue.

Overall, I just didn’t have a super fun time with this read. It felt a bit monotonous despite what should have been a high stakes plot.

What to expect from Trinity of Blood:
- MM to MMF
- vampire fated mates
- two-thirds historical romance
- blood-play
- “pet,” “sir”

Trinity of Blood by C. Rochelle

Another angsty love is love, I will tear down the world and burn all who cross my mates story world. I love how this book comes across as a mini series spanning three different time periods.
I previously read and loved part 2, which was originally written as a standalone short in an Anthology. In has been embellished and expanded upon significantly for this book and I love how we got to dive deeper into these characters.
All in all, this is one of my favorite C worlds. I hope more books come as she has left a huge opening for all sorts of paranormal neighbors.
