Loren and Ross seem to be a fixture in the Venture BDSM community. They are the people newbies go to for mentoring and support. It's never been explained how these two met. In THINGS MADE RIGHT, the story is finally revealed and it's a tabloid-worthy one filled with sexual violence, frat boys and revenge.
This story flips back and forth between past and present. The transitions between the two are smooth and easy to follow. Seeing the difference between young Loren and older Loren is pretty cool. Ross seems to be essentially the same in both times which is a nice consistency. Ross's sweet courting of Loren is innocent and almost too staid. The event which binds the two of them together is appalling. Unfortunately, it's a more common occurrence in today's college life. The way Ross and Loren come together and grow closer is a beautiful event.
What I liked about this story is the how BDSM isn't the focal point of this story. It's an added element to enhance the tale. In addition, it shows how a D/s dynamic would incorporate punishment. It also shows how the dominant responds to punishment sessions. This is particularly nice to see because many who are not in the lifestyle and read these kind of books make assumptions about punishment and how the dominant really feels. Ms. Dalton does a lovely job of showing how Doms are human too. And for them, punishment isn't pleasure either. Showing the requisite punishment scene from Ross's perspective may help those who find punishment humiliating or wrong to see it in a different light.
This is a BDSM lite tale and can be read as a standalone. For those who wonder about punishment with a cane, this book is a good representation. This story is recommended to kinky readers who are hooked on this series.
“Dark romantic” flashback story about a dude who decides to vigilante murder his girlfriend’s rapists, and the aftermath of that. If you have a justice boner, I’m sure you’ll like this. It didnt do much for me.

Spoiler Ahead This was a short quick read about Loren and Ross and how they met since I started reading this series I always wanted to know their story. Loren and Ross met in college he was friends with her roommates brother. Ross is pre-law and he really likes Loren but he hasn't made a move on her because he has a secret to tell her first. When Loren is gang raped at a party after her drink was spiked. Ross promised her that he would take care of it and her and he helped her with her recovery and with the help of her roommate she did. Loren does know what to think about Ross he hasn't made a move on her and she thinks that he might be gay. When he tells her what he wants in a relationship she agrees. Ross is a Dom and a sadist and Loren is a squitter and enjoys being spanked and she also enjoys being under Ross's control. All of this was told in flash backs as she talked to Sully because one of the guys that raped her his sister contacted her she wanted to learn more about her brother. This was a good short story the book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling just like the rest of Tymber's books. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.
I've read all the Suncoast Society books until the last 2 or 3. My favorites are The Reluctant Dom, & The Denim Dom. Both of those are novels , full blown, emotional, novels that allow you to be a part of the story.
In my opinion, the latest stories are all novellas, that just don't have the heart that I've come to expect from Ms. Dalton.
Although this one is also a novella, it captures you emotionally with the back story to Ross & Loren's long, & happy, marriage. I haven't enjoyed a book by Ms. Dalton, this much, since The Denim Dom. Ross joins Tony, and of course, Kaden, as book boyfriends. Thank you Tymber!
We finally get Ross & Loren's story. Oh boy! Talk about getting what you asked for. Their back story is nothing like you'd expect. The pain Loren went through and Ross not able to fix it could only make things right. You have to read this one!!!
I have always loved Ross and Loren, just down to earth people. He goes to the end of the earth for her, just to help. The bond that they have reminds me of my hubby and myself, gave me some warm fuzzies reading it. Glad to be able to find out more about them, and to bring Sully in too that's awesome.
After having read so many Suncoast Society books that mention Loren and Ross I really liked getting their background story. I like how Tymber Dalton writes stories like they happened to people she knows. (Maybe she does know them.:)) I wish that Ross and Loren's HEA could have been happier. I have never read a Tymber Dalton book that I didn't like or couldn't finish. Her writing is easy to read. The action and conversations flow smoothly and you don't have to reread what you've just read to understand what is happening. She lays out a scene so that you can easily picture it in your minds eye. The same goes with the description of her characters though I'm still trying to calculate how old Ross and Loren are.
I've read most of the Suncoast Society series, including the biggest, most widely known and loved ones. I think this is definitely in the running for the top spot.
Ross and Loren are in most of the Suncoast books and have always been loving, fun, interesting, and kinky. This glimpse into their past was fascinating and touching, heartbreaking and sexy.
I've always admired Ross, his wisdom and protective nature. Now I think I might have a bit of a book crush on him.
Reviews for the shorter books in this series have hinted that the stories are lacking and characters are under-developed. Not this one. You need to read this one and you won't regret it.
We get an inside look into how Ross and Loren met and the circumstances around her inability to have children. It's plain to see the love that Ross has, how he explained his need to control and what he did to allow Loren to heal. This is a dark read in that it includes rape as a storyline. So if that is a trigger, please do not read. However, it also shows the feeling of those close to the victims and how they process it.

This story captures you emotionally with the back story to Ross & Loren's long, & happy, marriage. I like how Tymber Dalton writes stories like they happened to people she knows. I couldn't put this book down and my heart cried out for Loren (yes I know she is a fictional character but I still feel for those who have been in that situation).
Loren is drugged and rape in college years ago one incident with Tilly along with a sister of one of her rapists and she's feeling bad about herself and what happened - Ross really stepped up to the plate and takes care of her from the time of the rape to now - Ross is a hero in my book.
Love it!!! She's done it again, and again with all her books. Grabbed me from the beginning and couldn't stop till I finished at 4 am. Loved finally having Loren and Ross's story. It broke my heart in so many ways to read it but i so understood it on such a personal level.
I can't help but feel that this was a missed opportunity for these two amazing characters. Yes, having a longer book would've meant being in the past longer, but they are such great characters with so much depth that I don't think this book did them justice. Too bad.
I've always like Ross and Loren, and now we finally get their backstory. What a heartbreaking situation they went through so young! I loved them as a couple before, but after this I can't even put into words how much I love them now!
Another great addition to this series. I was so glad to finally get Ross and Loren's story. I'm never disappointed with this author's work and can always count on a wonderful escape.
Loved learning more about Ross and Lauren! They are such a lovely couple. The flow of the story sucked me right in from the very first page! Another great one in the series!
