Love this series! I am so glad Josie and her crew are back at it! Josie is pulled in to a crime as she stumbles on to a body. She is asked to work with the police to help find information around the crime. The stakes become high when multiple mysteries unfold. I like how the author weaves humorous scenes into the book such as the fishing story. The mysteries were interesting, I guessed none of the who. I thought the final reveal was really well done!
I can't wait to read more by this author!

Counterfeit money, Peruvian artifacts, a fishing expedition, and the white glove treatment at the bank are all a part of this entertaining cozy that proves that you don’t have to be young to be in the prime of your life.
English Village is gearing up for the annual Cleeve Hill Garden Society fundraiser and Josie Posey is getting assigned to cover the event for the local paper. This is basically a puff piece interviewing the high society dames and not Josie’s usual crime related investigative assignments. But who knows, maybe there is more to this event than sweet smelling flowers. Speaking of flowers, don’t let the name fool you, Josie Posey is no shrinking violet, and her friends, the Mahjong Mavens are not a group of old retired biddies. Josie and her friends, Nellie, Kate, and Sharon are a sleuthing force to be reckoned with. Josie is a sleuth who cruises around town in a little red VW Bug named Piper, asking questions and following leads. Now I ask you, does that sound like a little old lady? I am a fan of a sleuth who has some life experiences. Not to mention that these ladies also demonstrate how important it is to have gal pals, especially if you no longer have a life partner. That doesn’t mean that Josie doesn’t enjoy a gentleman’s attention. She just doesn’t need one telling her what she should or shouldn’t do or second guessing her investigative abilities. Which is why she and Harvey, an attractive and opinionated blacksmith are no longer not dating. It sounds a little confusing but to hear Josie explain it, she and Harvey were not a couple, so they didn’t break up, they just agreed that they don’t need to spend as much time together.
Another interesting aspect to this story is the fact that amateur sleuths very rarely are asked to consult on an active investigation but this time, Chief Marshall, goes out of his way to make it official and asks Josie to be a consultant to the police department since Josie was the one who found sweet Maryann’s dead body lying on a bed of money in a bath tub. Before she can make any headway, she is “fired” so to speak, her fingerprints show up on a wrench found inches away from the victim. So once again, Josie must do what she does best, follow all leads and ask lots of questions. Starting with Savannah Sweet, the current year promotions chair for the Cleeve Hill Garden Society. Savannah might have a sweet name but there is definitely something sour and surly about her disposition and her attitude about Maryann
