Elana Ricci was raised to see the Romano name as a threat. Luca Romano was raised to eliminate threats. Their marriage is a contract meant to stop a war between empires built on blood.
It was never supposed to become personal.
But Luca has wanted her longer than he’ll admit. And Elana refuses to be a pawn in a dynasty that treats women like leverage.
Power binds them. Obsession tempts them. Betrayal threatens to destroy them.
Because in their world, loyalty is written in blood… and love is forged in fire.
In a kingdom built on violence and legacy, love isn’t soft. It’s possessive. It’s dangerous. It’s forbidden.
And once Luca decides she’s his, he’ll burn everything to keep her.
I’m Laura Holly, and I write gritty MC romance full of raw emotion, dangerous men, and fierce women who refuse to be broken. My stories dig into loyalty, family, and love that’s as relentless as it is passionate. My debut, Savage, begins the Wilde Steel MC Series—where outlaws, Irish mafia brothers, and forbidden love collide.
Outside of writing, I’m a mom, a wife, and an animal lover. Most days you’ll find me juggling real life with my kids and sneaking in writing sessions whenever I can. I love the quiet moments on my little homestead just as much as I love creating chaotic, violent, and emotional worlds on the page.
I believe romance should make you feel everything—the grit, the heartbreak, the heat, and the hope—and I can’t wait to share these wild stories with you.
ARC Review – The Crimson Elements: Blood and Fire (Dark Mafia Romance)
I really enjoyed this book, though I’m not sure I would fully classify it as a dark mafia romance. It definitely sits in the mafia romance space, with moments and glimpses of darkness rather than being completely steeped in it.
One thing I really appreciated was the way Laura wrote the two main characters. Their interactions often came through in short, clipped sentences—almost like they didn’t need a lot of words to understand each other’s thoughts or intentions. It worked really well for their characters because you could easily envision how their upbringings would shape that kind of communication—less emotion, fewer words, and more meaning packed into what was said. It gave their dynamic a really interesting rhythm and made their exchanges feel very authentic to who they were.
At first, I wasn’t sure if I would fully connect with the characters, but as the story progressed I found myself getting more invested and coming back to see what would happen next.
It’s a bit different from some of my usual reads, but it’s well written and engaging—and I’m definitely curious to see where the next book goes.
I will be honest, book was slow at first and I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. It took a couple chapters and then I was sunk in. Hook, line and sinker. There was a time-lapse in the beginning and then two in the ending.
Ok.. These two main characters where fire!! I love hownthey complimented each other. They were able to tell with each other what they feeling, how they were handling things. Because they new.
Growing up in the mafia was not a cake walk. They were already calculating things. They knew exactly where to look and how to handle said situation. Even when someone close to them decided to go against them because they thought Luca was weak for choosing his wife. But when then they proved to be stronger together.
In the end they chose each other!! And once they fully chose each other, They became unstoppable!!
I absolutely loved this book!! Can't wait for book 2!!

I, in good faith, am unable to finish reading this book. I received this story as arc copy. Due to great skepticism that it wasn't written entirely by a human, I am dnfing this book.
