In the quaint British town she now calls home, Juliet Page’s quiet life running a rare bookstore is disrupted when she sells a 17th-century book of maps and finds herself implicated in a murder most foul. Can she expose the true killer and preserve her fresh start?
BOUND FOR A FATAL FOOTNOTE (A Juliet Page Cozy Mystery—Book 5) is the fifth novel in a new series by cozy mystery author Audrey Shine. The series begins with BOUND FOR A HARDCOVER HOMICIDE (Book 1).
A charming cozy mystery series, Juliet Page will pull you right into its quaint setting, captivate you with its enchanting atmosphere, and make it impossible to stop reading. With unexpected plot twists and a perplexing mystery to unravel, this page-turner will keep you engaged late into the night, all while you fall in love with its unforgettable main character.
Read the audiobook version which sounds like it's an AI text to voice rather than a living actor bringing the story to life.
Example: at one point Juliet is having an 'exiting' life - perhaps there was a typo in the text fed to the AI, because an actor would know Juliet's life is exciting. There were a couple of spots where the reader "Caroline" doesn't pause in the right place to make sense of the text. Of course one person DOES exit their life ...
Noticed a few continuity issues - a final read through by a sharp copy editor before publication would make all the difference.
Example. Oliver had gone to lecture at Oxford but a couple chapters later it seemed to be Cambridge
The cat is Gingerbread except in one chapter he's suddenly just Ginger, then reverts back to his real name.
I am glad this is the last Juliet Page series. I know enough of the book to know that nothing really is in the middle of the book. I just read the first chapter where the bully comes in to say her sold book is stolen from him then skip to the end to find the ending and it strings up really good.
I didn't have to be anxious about the characters in the book that the bad guy has been caught and that Juliet is the hero with Oliver's help.
This was a fun read. The characters are enjoyable and clever. The plot is straightforward, and the premise is finding out who killed the bully in front of Juliet's store and why. The answers were hard won and the ending happy. I do recommend this book.
We have a proposal! That was fast! And the sister is basically moving into the lavender cottage with the pets! Im kinda wondering about the sister and the detective assistant, or is he too young?

book was a good book for American woman solving the murder instead of the towns detective. Good read overall, I started with this book instead of book one by mistake.
