The second-chance and H’s reason for leaving for 10 years did not work in this book. (Possible spoilers ahead)
I would have appreciated it more if the author would have just had H’s excuse be “we were so young and I WAS NOT READY TO SETTLE DOWN” 🤷♀️
I was not a fan of h.
"You're right." His voice is raw. "Every time I dated other women, I compared them to you. They all fell short. Every time."
"You dated other women but didn't think to come back for me?" He flinches. "How does that make sense, Nate? You spent ten years measuring other women against me, but never once thought maybe I was worth fighting for?"
“I didn't think I deserved you.”
That above quote pretty much sums this up.
H and h meet in high school when they both volunteered at the dog shelter. An intense 3 month relationship. h was a V, H was not (he’s the QB for the football team 🥴)
H is going away to college and looks to be drafted for the NFL. H gives h a promise ring. They both know he leaves in “3 weeks”
H’s dad was an abusive a-hole. The day before H leaves, the dad sprouts off a bunch of things to H, basically telling him to leave the h and enjoy college. 🤷♀️🤷♀️ He doesn’t need to be in a relationship. (As a parent, I GET dad’s reaction)
H just leaves. Doesn’t even go tell h “bye”
Now it’s 10 years later 😱
H’s dad has died and left H the 600+ acres farm and H returns to sell it. No, he hasn’t been home in 10 years. His POV immediately starts with him “missing” h. It mentions that he’s been with OW during the 10 years. Niceeeee.
h is now a realtor and naturally she gets handed H’s sell of the property. She is STILL wearing the promise ring H gave her. Her POV mentions that she has been with OM over the years, but she’s never satisfied. She is not happy about H being back, but she refuses to pass the listing on to another agent. (Hahahahhahahahha)
H makes it no secret he wants h back. He’s sorry. 🤪
There is this OM, Eric, that has been trying to date h for a few years. Even though h knows Eric likes her, she doesn’t like him that way. She will use him as a “buffer” with H.
Anywho, H and h go back and forth, over and over again. By 20%, h lets H do finger action on her in the barn. Then pushes him away. h made my head hurt. 😢
(I didn’t dislike H. He’s a little dense, but I don’t think he’s a bad guy. It did seem like he loved h and really regretted what he did, but still….ugh)
H and h start to discover that H’s dad did a lot of things to keep them apart. Dad didn’t forward the mail h sent H. Had the college monitor his emails and delete the ones from h(how does that even happen?)
It’s clear dad was 💩 but why does this even matter? The fact is- H was an adult. He had 10 years to reach out to h. 10 years and he didn’t. He continued to live his life being a big NFL star, and screwed OW. It wasn’t until his knee gave out, he retired, THEN he decided to go home to get h back.
The one thing I did like in this book was the fact that h’s BFF called h out on being a POS to Eric. h agreed to go to a charity ball with Eric (2 days after she boinked H) and h’s BFF told h she was deceitful leading Eric on and using him to make H jealous. Yessssss!
I really wouldn’t say there is any groveling in this book. Like…how can H properly apologize for what he did? He can’t. It wasn’t like his dad was threatening h’s life or anything. I kept expecting to find out maybe the dad threatened to ruin h’s life if H came back around. *something to at least halfway excuse H ghosting h for 10 years* nope 👎
At ANY point during those 10 years, H could have called, visited, written letters, emailed, texted, or even smoke signals JFC
H turns his land into some wildlife center. h takes him back and forgives him. The epilogue is a few years later. They have kids.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "RECLAIMED BY THE BILLIONAIRE" given by the author hooking me from the start its an intense, emotional intriguing drama, dealing with interferring family, steam.
Maisie Miller receives an email about Nate Hale who use to be star quarterback in school, selling his fathers ranch & wanting to talk to her about listing details.
Tiffany is Maisie's BF asking if she saw the email & she says she's pretending not to, its worth alot Tiffany says about the Hale Ranch which is Prime Arizona property with a mountain view.
Maisie says Hale is the man who destroyed her at 18yrs. give it to Derek he couldn't sell ice water h*ll.
Maisie knows she has to be professional & in control.
Nate shows up & Maisie sees how devastating he looks with the confidence after years of people telling him he's exceptional, she's remembering their past making love, she's still the heartbroken girl he left behind, twisting the promise ring he gave her.
Nate retired from NFL due to a knee injury & starts working in his buddy Adam's commercial development company at 28yrs. old & buys a
condo in Scottsdale.
Nates father wasn't a very nice man to him or his mother watching the light go out in his mother's eyes, the Ranch has never felt like a home, staying in Cottonwood means facing Maisie.
Nate knows deep down he screwed things up royally by leaving Maisie can they get a second chance at a HEA its one read you don't want to miss, you so won't be disappointed.

ARC Review
Reclaimed by the Billionaire is a wonderful, slow burn, second chance romance. I really enjoyed getting to read this book. The characters vibed perfectly together. The story about them was easy to understand and you were able to feel the emotion between characters. The spice was a little bit lighter, a few chapters had some wonderfully written scenes, seeing as this is a shorter book it filled in perfectly and still allowed the plot to show through mostly.
The only things that had me give it a four-star rating was that it was a bit repetitive sometimes. I sometimes found myself thinking I went backwards when flipping pages because the dialogue or situation was written very similar and would repeat the same conversation or thoughts of conflicts.
Overall, the book was well written besides some of the repetitiveness. It was easy to read, easy to understand, and really a wholesome read. I will be recommending this book to my friends that share the love of reading these sweet romance stories.

I enjoyed the push-and-pull between the characters — there’s that mix of history, frustration, and lingering feelings that keeps things interesting. The chemistry is there from the start, and it builds in a way that makes the story easy to get swept up in.
It’s not overly complex, but it doesn’t need to be. This is the kind of book you pick up when you want something entertaining, a little dramatic, and romance-focused without having to think too hard.
Overall, a solid read if you’re in the mood for enemies-to-lovers with second chance vibes and a bit of spice.

Now 10-years later, Nate contacts Maisie about listing his father’s ranch, and to meet up to discuss the listing. Maisie is determined to be professional and in control, while Nate is confident, and determined for another chance.
This is a well written story, which has family, friendship, emotions, determination, heartbreak, enemies / lovers, second chances, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Hate and Maise reunion was not what either expected. Reliving 10 years of pain and loss. Forgiveness is hard, forgetting is even harder for Maise. Nate's father is a real bastard. He destroyed land and lives for profit, even his own family. Elena, Nate's mother, is his biggest supporter and helps him focus on why he is turning his ranch into a sanctuary. Tiffany and Sierra are Maise's go to friends and helps her focus on what is important and real. Hate is there and ready to commit to Maise. When Maise realize that she is tired of running away and let's go of the past, she commits to Nate's vision of being together as equals, partners as husband and wife. Love the 5 year mark to see how their love continues on, as well as Sierra and Mike and Eric and Amy. Love this book.

OMG, an emotionally intense great read! Time and space makes a wonderful second chance for Maisie and Nate. Interfering controlling parents don’t always know what’s good for their children. Couldn’t put this down until they both knew they belonged together.

I absolutely loved reading this romance story and Zoey captured my attention and heart right away. From the very first page I was hooked and knew I was going to stay up late just so I could finish reading all about Nate and Maisie. Trust me this is definitely a terrific story to read and worth losing sleep over just so you can finish reading it.

A first love you didn't get over and interfering parents thinking that they know best. Will they end up together or stay torn apart? The characters gripped me from the beginning. I just had to know how things worked out between Maisie and Nate and I loved their journeys to get there. A great read because who doesn't love a standalone, dual pov with a small town second chance love.

This is an awesome second chance romance. Nate and Maisie are a great couple and I enjoyed their emotional, sweet story. I was captived by the drama, s3xual tension and undeniable chemistry. I loved it!

A good story, well written story. The emotions between the MC (Nate and Maisie) and a shot on second chances. I will definitely read more from this author.
