The Girl's Series Novella - Landon Brinkley is twenty-four years old and she’s never been on a real date. That’s mostly because she’s been working so hard on her dreams she hasn’t had time to bother with men. But then Brody Ashton walked into her life and since he looks like an underwear model (but you know, with clothes on) it was kind of impossible not to take notice. So Landon and Brody are dating now, or really, beginning to. It’s all very new and exciting and there’s only one problem… they still haven’t gone on a real date. So that’s what tonight is supposed to be; magical, romantic, expensive… and it's about to go horribly wrong.
Rachel laid the foundation for her lifestyle brand and media company with the same unfiltered honesty and staunch inclusivity that made her a two-time #1 New York Times bestselling author. Hollis connects with a highly engaged and growing global audience of women who treasure her transparency and optimism. She is one of the most sought-after motivational speakers, plays host to one of today’s top business podcasts and is a proud mama of four who uses her platform to empower and embolden women around the world. Rachel calls Texas home; more specifically the Hill Country just outside of Austin.
Since I've finished writing this one I can safely say I've also read it. I think it's sweet and funny and a great bargain at a whopping $0.00 and I hope y'all love it too! xo, Rachel
I don't read a lot of short stories. And paying a buck for something I'll consume in a half hour seems a bit much. But I couldn't help myself. I wanted to see their first official date and I have to say, it didn't disappoint. This was loads of fun and one of the best dollars I've ever spent.
Seeing Landon and Brody's first date was so much fun!! They are complete opposites. Pair Landon's carefree personality with Brody's somewhat snobby attitude, you know there's going to be some laughs when things don't go as planned. I can't get enough of these two!
In this novella sequel/prequel to "Party Girl" and "Sweet Girl," Rachel Hollis delivers the goods in her whimsical style that grabs the reader from page one and keeps the fun going until the last page. We rejoin Landon Brinkley, the 24-year-old heroine of "Party Girl," just as she is at the beginning of a relationship with Brody Ashton, the scrumptious hero of "Party Girl." They still have not gone on a real date and the short story is all about how magically romantic it is supposed to be. But in true Landon style, everything goes horribly wrong. It is a great short story that is just as fun as her first novel. Not meant to be a full-length book, it was just perfect. If you have an hour and want to be highly entertained, this is the story for you.
Opposites attract and Landon and Brody are living proof of that. This date was such a good combination of both of their personalities that I can't imagine their first date to have gone perfectly as planned by Brody.
I seriously would read a lot of novellas about all of their dates knowing it would leave me laughing and sighing happily at their behaviors.
Definitely a quick and funny read! I should have known that there was no way Landon and Brody could have a normal date. Might not be a great night by normal standard but it was a perfect fit for them!
So sweet and fun! You know when you put a book down right as the characters finally have their first kiss and you go "WAIT! No! I need more!"? Well that is how I felt after I finished Party Girl - so I was SO happy to have this little follow up and enjoy a bit more time with Landon and Brody :)
Loved this! Such a funny and romantic account of Landon and Brody's first date. And I love the change in POV at the end! Can't wait to read more about these characters in Sweet Girl!
Party Girl's First Date was soooo good. I loved it. Per my comment about not getting enough romance, the short story was solely focused on Brody and Landon's first real date .
Their first date was everything I expected it would be. They ran into so many issues and had such bad luck it was perfect. I couldn't see it going any other way and Hollis had to have had the best time thinking up such a great disaster of a date. And even more, ending the book from Brody's point of view was the cherry on the cake. It really felt like a well needed epilogue.
What a fun short story about Landon and Brody! Landon has never been on a real date before and she's 24! It's about time! Who better to go out with, her roommate's gorgeous brother Brody. The certainly have a night to remember - evil ex-bosses who up, get caught in traffic, possibly set themselves on fire and so much more! Read it today! You'll love it!
After reading Party Girl I wanted MORE! Found this little gem and stayed up until midnight to finish it. So good! I can’t wait to read the other books in the series. I’m so excited there are others!
I've been wanting to read this book ever since I learned this was Rachel Hollis' first! It took me a long time to get into, but once I was in I was hooked on Landon's story, and couldn't wait to see how everything turned out for her. I love knowing this is based on actual stories from Rachel's life, and it makes me want to plan parties for a living too!
A super cute and sweet addition to Party Girls. I only gave it 3 stars because Ms. Hollis makes the last chapter from Brody’s perspective and it was way too short. We need a full book from his viewpoint. In this book of whatever can go wrong will we see the sweet slow steps the relationship between Landon and Brody are taking. Can’t wait to see how their relationship deepens.
I absolutely love this story about Brody and London's first date! I didn't realize it but I was holding my breath the whole time. After reading the ending it was so sweet and different I couldn't help letting out a happy sigh!
BRODY. I AM OBSESSED WITH BRODY. I honestly wanted this to go on and on and on. The date itself was probably a little too ridiculous for my taste, but I still ate it up. I'm really going to have to read book 2 immediately just so I can hopefully get a little taste of more Brody.
