I originally started this due to the massive reading slump that I was in and I could have read it for free online. I was looking for something that was entertaining, and I definitely wasn’t expecting an amazing novel that I would remember forever but I was sincerely disappointed.
I read more than half of this book and I couldn’t stand it any longer. I am over 98% sure that this was written almost entirely by AI. With the dual-POV’s that are shown between the two main characters, completely different things occur in the chapters between the two of them.
Different things are said, different things happen even when it is explicitly said (and shown) that it is the exact same moment from one chapter to the next. This includes increasing plot holes to occur, and to cause a lot of confusion whilst trying to string together moments and grasp at parts of a story that doesn’t even exist.
I also found absolutely no conviction in any of the characters motives. Why did they want or ‘need’ to kidnap Zelda other than to take what her father had hidden? Why does Anton hate Dominic Montgomery and why is he his enemy? What was so important that they needed to kidnap Zelda? Why did they grow closer? Why does she submit to him other than his ‘assertiveness’ or ‘dominance’ over everyone.
Everything I’ve explained, think of it as worse than it is.
I can’t even explain its horrible existence to justice.
