Kenya Wright wrote her first novel during her third year at UM Law school. She dropped out a month after the release and never looked back.
Words are power, and Kenya wants to be the greatest wizard that ever lived.
It's an audacity to inspire and teach the healing of love through arousal.
It's this crazy idea that love can not only help a reader escape, but the story can also teach the person about being human, while making them laugh, cry, and hot for more sex.
This installment begins in full "Eyes Wide Shut" glory, as Chase throws a party introducing Jasmine to society as his new love. The previous adversity and drama serves to strengthen their obsessive desire for each other. They don't expect the specter of both their pasts to crash their celebration, and possible future apart.
Good: 1. This goes to some dark places, but the love feels so real.
2. In the beginning I considered this a really good Fifty Shades-a-like. As I got further in became very impressed with the fresh take on what has become an overdone trope. This installment surpassed that, when the backstory, and motivations of all the players came out.
3. Chase a spoiled alphahole that has no boundaries, and it's a big part of his charm.
4. The previous book's head jumping problem is corrected in this installment.
5. Someone should have tapped Kenya Wright for the "Suicide Squad” writing team. She gives good villain.
6. The dialogue offered moments of unexpected hilarity without trying too hard. For example, Jasmine's brother Troy does a riff about foodie culture that had me laughing out loud.
7. When certain story turns first emerged I started to sound the "plot hole" alarm. Thankfully most were filled in, further along in the book.
8. I loved how the touches of scary things rumored about in real life elite culture were woven in.
9. The cover is beautiful.
10. Sexy without a lot of kink.
Bad:
1. There was one thing about her mother's finances that had me confused. Hopefully the next book will tie up that loose end for me.
2. I wish we were actually shown more about Jasmine's older brothers, instead of told.
Final Thoughts: I really enjoyed this series overall, and this book especially. The finale was open ended, but really need another installment to answer some of my questions.
I freaking loved this book. Oh my goodness this was some crazy hot shit Chase is insane and Jasmine is a bad ass lady. I want there to be a 4th book I'm praying so I hope the gods here my prays. Good job Kenya Wright you're a freaking genius.
OMG, that was so worth the wait. If you don't like twists and turns, and plot development bothers you, then I suggest you read something else. This story went HARD.
So, it's no secret that I'm in love with Chase. Is he crazy? Yes. Is he a King Baby? Yep. Is he an asshole? You betcha. But he owns it and his heart is in the right place. Sure, he loves Jasmine, but he hates losing and that is why he'll drop whatever ridiculous amount of money and have shady morals to keep her safe and by his side. He's a great anti-hero.
Then there's Benny. He may be psycho, but he's my perfect psycho. Just when you thought you could not get any more deranged than him, enters Sophia. Sophia is the sickest of them all and is purely evil and completely sane. At least Benny is certifiable.
This book made me laugh and cry. It was great. I wish I could read the prequel for Benny and Sophia's story. OMG, that would be epic and creepy all at once.
I happily give this book 4 stars. I took away one star for editing and structural errors that made a few parts hard to tell who was talking.
GAH! It's time for Kenya Wright to be picked up by a major publisher and works distributed and edited the way it deserves. Her books would make an EXCELLENT tv show or film series.
I loved the first two books in the series and was anxious to read the third book. After waiting so long, I was a bit disappointed, the book seemed unending and I had to browse over a great portion of the book to complete it. I do hope that if there is a Book 4, it will just deal with the relationships and not be so long winded.
I didn't care for this book like the others, I felt like there were unanswered questions. I didn't like the fact that her twin died. The mother should have gotten what she deserved.

Whaaaaaaaaattttt????!!!! YES, PLEASE! <3
I absolutely LOVE the “Chasing Love” series. Of the three, the first book happens to be my favorite, and this book being my second.
I, personally, love the dark turn this series is taking. It began one way and has developed into something else entirely. There is violence and murder in this story. This is NOT a light and fluffy romance, so if you’re looking for that— I think you should look elsewhere.
Jasmine got on my nerves in book 2. I am happy to say she didn’t in this one. After what she experiences in the book, I am very interested in seeing who or what Jasmine will turn into.
Chase…….. I. Have. No. Words. I just love this man! He’s fierce and vulnerable. He’s strong and a force to be reckoned with, and yet he could still be brought to his knees. I know that’s a dichotomy, but Jasmine is his greatest strength, and greatest weakness. There is nothing and NO ONE who will keep him from his “Tesoro”. Not even “Tesoro” herself.
I am hoping that there will be a book 4, because I believe there is more story to tell between Chase, Jasmine, and their respective families. Especially unfinished business between Jasmine and her mother.
Although this book is dark and more of a thriller than a romance, the love between Chase and Jasmine is always at the heart of the story. It grows deeper and more intense page by page. These are two people who will sacrifice everything — and everyone — to be with each other if necessary.
I loved this latest installment and I look forward to the next one in this awesome series!
I didn't feel like this book was as good as the other books in the series. I was well aware that there would be violence; this book felt like it was more about the violence and death, than the romance that was supposed to take place. I will say that I repeatedly had to fight to keep reading; I was very bored by the time I reached the end of the book. Now, I feel liked I wasted my time by reading this book. I will say, I am really tired of authors stretching out there work into a large number of books, but it actually being a story and a half of actual material.
The most unbelievable plot. I remember the anticipation in waiting for this book because I liked the first two. Realized it was published last year, I guess the anticipation died off. I should have left it where it was.
I enjoyed this book least of all and more a 2.5. It's so close to murder mystery and off topic for the vast majority of the book. Chase and Jasmine spend very little time together but instead are off chasing down information and unraveling plots. Sophia, Jasmine's mom is now a mastermind, making moves behind the scenes for years. The whole broke and poor supposedly a front, the electricity being cut off a ploy to remind Jasmine to care for family. Benny loses it and kills Troy and turns out that the scarred man he hung around for years is the real father of Troy and Jasmine. It's interesting plot twists for sure but so much happens I found myself rolling my eyes and being impatient for the paternity reveal, the rest I could have done without.
Jasmine runs away from Chase to try and keep him safe from Benny since Benny threatened to kill Chase if Chase didn't leave Jasmine alone. Makes no sense why all of a sudden Benny makes this ultimatum. History and animosity between him and Chase aside, he's managed well enough with their relationship to the point. The explanation that Sophia manipulated him and triggered his homicidal thoughts was weak in my opinion. With Vivian and Troy having taken a test to determine if they were related and it coming back negative, Benny wasn't informed and took it poorly to see them together again. For her twin brother to have been killed by their father, Jasmine seems to take it much better than I'd have thought with how close she and Troy always were. There's some mention once everything is said and done about her grieving but we don't really see it. Jasmine and Chase have their time together at end which is good. Anyway, glad to get to the end of the series and probably would have liked it more had the books been set up differently from the beginning.
Even the most vilest monsters desire to be loved and needed. Benny thought he had Sophia as a love partner, Vivian fought hard for Troy, Chase would kill for Jazz. Nobody wants to die alone. What a tangled web we weave with all of the scheming and plotting.
Troy, oh Troy...my heart bleeds!
Kenya wrote this part three story full of explosive action. I think it was the best of all three. Although, the storyline got a little boring with the Jack The Ripper history, but I understand it was an integral part of knowing what influenced Benny. The man was cray-cray. This book revealed more and more about each character. Benny was being manipulated by a woman he loved. I was wondering who the twin's father was. I did not think it was who it turned out to be. That caught me by surprise. Troy's death turned Jasmine into a person ready to do anything to keep she and Chase together and Chase would be right by her side to make sure it happened.
There are laugh out loud moments throughout this tale. Some deaths were pointless and unnecessary. Maybe his death served as a twist the author thought was needed but so much of my investment in the story died too. Some twist like Sherman’s expressed destination interest at breakfast was actually a predictable means to an end. Garfield/Scar’s revealed role was suspected during the journal read of their meeting and verbal exchange. This story lingered in places like a maze tour that seemed like a good idea until finding the exit becomes tiresome and breeds extreme frustration for it to end. The author needs to edit her ideas because sometimes less is more. This series needs to end. Saving the death of the puppeteer should have occurred in this book that was stretched for far too many pages with filler pages. Why so money is being hoarded? I don’t care. Queen against queen (good against evil). I don’t care? Unless Sophia faked the son’s death, I don’t care.
I wanted to vote yes for book 4, but the link didn't work. So yes, we should absolutely have book 4... Too many loose ends. Sophia needs to meet her maker. Sherman is "hanging", Scar, is she really the twins father? Why did you have to kill Troy??? I wish there was a way he could come back . Anyway, this series is "loooong", a lot of twists and turns... But a good read with some good sense of humor sometimes! I love the way Chase loves his tesoro", here is a couple excerpts:.. bonding. Maybe a rainbow will appear and a unicorn will take a shit on my shoes. I never underestimated a female. Any being that had the power to hold life inside of their bodies for nine months, and then somehow push it out of something so small and delicate, had my greatest respect. I would never trade my cock for a vagina. Too much responsibility came with it.
Kenya did it again! This was great. I couldn’t put it down. I was so engrossed in the book that I was stealing reads while at work and on my lunch break. The emotions rolled off the pages. I was so sad, so mad, so overjoyed and so ready for more with each character. If there happens to be a book 4, I’d like to see what happens with Chase’s father and Jasmine’s mother—the further development of those characters. Plus, I’d love to read about Chase and Jasmine’s wedding and possible kids. Hmmm... I’m sure another installment would be WELL WORTH the read. #DefinitelyBookToMovie
I've finished this 3 book series in 2 days. I've followed all of the highs and lows......the twists and turns. Just when I think I've got it figured out KW threw another twist. Yes, I think there should be another book. I need to know more about what happens to Sophia...... more information on Sherman and Mike and Neil. I will say that I figured out who the twins father was...... from the first few pages of Benny's journal, I knew. This book was different from the norm; similar to her other works...... But a little less intense......still suspenseful. Keep an open mind and try it out.
Another cliffhanger. This book does not give an satisfactory ending. There needs to be a conclusive ending. Way to much is happening in to short of a time period. That being said I gave it 4 stars because the book was an nice to read. I like the intro of more of Jazz’s family not happy at all about the loss but I suppose it was justified as a means to an end. To introduce a new reveal. There are a lot of openings for a 4th book I’m still hopping for a wedding and children. And Chase and Jazz running things. Justice still needs to be served.
This did not seem to be the end of the Chasing Love series and I believe it was purposely written that way because the ending was sort of rushed and left several strings untied. I mean, what a whirlwind for Jasmine and Chase, but I began to not find this story to be very good. I believe the first book was great, but I don't know, there was just way too much going on, so much detail, etc only for the ending to be rushed and oddly "wrapped up." Sort of disappointed.
I finished all 3 books and with each one I was expecting better and was sorely disappointed. The story line was very creative. The characters sucked. Jasmine and Chase were very immature and clueless all the way til the bitter end. I found myself praying for the end to come quickly. The sex scenes were ok but it took way too much precedence over everything. This series was not for me.
OK I’m not a fan of cliffhangers and I don’t like when a story is too drawn out because then I lose interest. This book or series rather really good but I felt like sometimes the author dragged it out more than necessary like two bucks would’ve been OK and now she’s thinking about doing a fourth. Just give them their creepy happily ever after and call it a day at the third book.
Saving the Best for last! ** Spoiler ** Why did Troy have to die!!!! Sophie should have died along with Benny; both so evil. Sherman was no better!!!! Lucy I felt sad for when she died but she let Dawn become a Monster! Glad they all died! I wish Chase had let Benny kill Wendy!!!! Loved that they got there happily ever after! Will Vivian always be a 3rd wheel????
I enjoyed the series although Jasmine got on my nerves at times, but all that build up for that ending? Ugghhh...how can you end it without wrapping up Loose Ends? It has to be another book because it didn't solve anything and there's too many unanswered questions.
Please please please give us a book four. You know that witch needs to get her do. Love Chase and Jasmine. Their love is crazy, obsessive, and everything we all love to read about. You hit yet another series out of the park. But, you know you can't leave us hanging like.
This series had me on an emotional roller coaster. I did not expect all these twists and turns or senseless deaths. Jasmine and Chase were my favorite but all the sex became redundant. We get it they were hot for each other but their relationship had no depth.
I really enjoyed this book. I did find it OTT at times but the author paid a lot of attention to detail to put the reader in the moment and she kept the reader guessing what would happen next. I can’t wait for Jazz and Chase to get their HEA.
Please get to writing Book 4! Sophia needs to die (I secretly think that Troy and Jazz were raised as twins, but they weren’t) cause she ain’t no body’s real mom no way! I am so engrossed in Chase and Jazz! Love the tempo of your writing and the places you take me!
This book explained so much and yet I still have questions. I love the commitment Jasmine and Chase have for each other. I think I cried and laughed more reading this book than any in the series. I would like to know what happens with Sophia and Sherman!
Unexpected twist and turns....yet I expected something to happen to Sophia that would have made it the 5 stars. There were some emotional parts to it as well. It flowed well
