Finishing this series felt like saying goodbye to a world and characters I’ll never forget. Miranda crafted a breathtaking dark fantasy filled with heartbreak, resilience, and unforgettable growth. Watching these characters fight through unimaginable horrors while learning the power of choice made every victory feel earned. The villains got the endings they deserved, the heroes completely stole my heart, and Symond’s redemption arc was one of my favorite parts. I wasn’t ready for this journey to end, but Miranda delivered a beautiful, emotional finale that left me in tears. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ending.

Pulmonary Review - this series turned a character that in book 1 that I almost instantly loathed into one that by book 2, I was empathizing with, to worried for by book 3. I don't even think he was meant to be the main story, but that is what he became for me. His story as told moreso by those around him.

This is a story that gives its characters the worst start, yet shows how they overcome and fight for peace. Trauma and healing as a journey that truly never is over, but not without hope and support. Heartfelt. Real and raw.

The final book in the Thornforged Chronicles is heavy.
There’s lots of trauma resurfacing and blame, as well as realizing truth and perception are not the same thing.

Elora is on a mission to rid the world of Thorn. Rell just wants to keep her safe. Both things are dangerous.

Her personal vendetta almost backfires when she storms the Institute and discovers a horrific development that has been implemented since her escape.

A powerful ending to an intense journey. Choice. The most powerful weapon in life. And this book, this series, might just heal some parts of you that you might not have realized were broken.

Miranda Howman’s Song of the Once Silenced completely caught me off guard. I knew I was going to enjoy it because I’d loved the first two books, but I wasn’t expecting to close it and immediately miss these characters. Thank you, Miranda Howman, for the gifted copy.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Like possibility… Like choice.”

You know that feeling when you realize you only have fifty pages left and suddenly you don’t want to read quite as fast? That was me. I wanted to know how everything ended, but I also didn’t want it to end at all.

Elora has been through so much over this series that I kept wondering if she’d ever really feel free. I liked that Miranda didn’t make it easy. There isn’t some magical moment where everything is fixed. She still struggles. She still questions herself. Honestly, I think that’s why I cared about her as much as I did.

Rell is still one of my favorite people in this world. He’s just…steady. He doesn’t need to be the hero in every scene, and I appreciated that. He lets Elora make her own choices, even when they’re hard to watch. And Symond? I did not see that coming. Somewhere along the line I stopped being frustrated with him and started hoping he’d find his way. I wasn’t expecting that.

I found myself reading one chapter before bed…then another…and then suddenly it was way later than I’d planned. I had work the next morning too, so that probably wasn’t my smartest decision. Worth it, though.

What stayed with me wasn’t one big battle or one shocking twist. It was watching these characters slowly figure out who they wanted to become after everything they’d survived. That’s the part I’ll remember.

I also loved that this book kept coming back to the idea of choice. It sounds simple, but for these characters it isn’t. Having the freedom to decide your own future changes everything, and Miranda never lets you forget how hard that freedom was won.

When I finally turned the last page, I just sat there for a minute. No rushing to another book. No scrolling my phone. Just…thinking. That’s probably the best compliment I can give it.

If you’ve been reading this trilogy, I really think Miranda stuck the landing.

Have you ever finished a series and caught yourself wondering what the characters were doing the next day, even though the story was over?

"And what does freedom feel like?" he asked. "Like possibility," she whispered, "Like choice. Like realizing I want something without it being used against me."

There is possibly nothing more powerful or more exhilarating, in this world and in any fantasy world, than the power of choice. The power to choose your life's path and the power to make mistakes and own them. Freedom seems like such a fleeting concept these days, so reading about people gaining the freedom to choose for themselves and lead their lives the way they want feels almost cathartic.

And cathartic is the word I would use to describe Miranda's Thornforged series. A cathartic experience of rebirth and of claiming the reins of one's life. This is not just a story you read. It’s one you experience. It is raw and real, brutal and visceral, haunting yet healing. It will consume your thoughts, break and unbreak your heart so many times that you will stop counting, and it will linger long after the final page.

Song of the Once Silenced, the finale of the series, was everything I needed and more. It was a catharsis, a breaking of chains, a true testament to inner strength. And yet, the catharsis didn't come easily. No, it was earned and claimed. It was won after years and years of trauma and hard-fought healing, after years of falling and standing back up. It was sought after, even when one felt unworthy of it. Years of repression don't just vanish; they keep lingering in the shadows, snapping their teeth at any given time. But it's the methods of fighting them that keep changing and evolving.

Elora, Symond, and the others didn't magically heal their inner and outer wounds. They survived, and they keep surviving day after day. They keep fighting their demons, keep pushing through, and that's what makes them rebels and fighters.

Choice, patience, and consent. Three simple words that hold an entire world in them. A world where people are free to choose, free to live, love, and learn. Just free.

Thank you, Miranda, for sharing this story with us. And thank you for having me as your ARC reader; it's an honor I will cherish forever.

I finished reading this masterpiece a couple weeks ago...and just had to sit for awhile and absorb the fact that this amazing series is  now complete. How do you let go of characters that you have loved since book 1?? How do you leave the world that Miranda has created and described in such detail that you can close your eyes and see it all? How do you pick up all the pieces of yourself that shattered throughout this series...and just move on?

This series definitely lived up to its classfication of a dark fantasy read. So many of the things that these kids went through and experienced I sometimes had a really hard time wrapping my brain around...and for them to still live, still fight, still take part in things that terrify them to their core? This is what strength looks like.

I absolutely love that so much of Song of the Once Silenced dealth with choice; something we take for granted every day, but that these kids didn't experience for the majority of their lives. Relearning how to make choices, to realize you have them to start with, to prioritize yourself, rather than what the Empire wants of you.

The villains were still the villains, and good f-ing riddance to the two biggest ones of them! It's not often a book has me physically yelling out loud...but congratulations Miranda, this book had me yelling, and then apologizing to the people around me, on mulitple occasions. Our heros were still our heros and through their growth, we fell even harder in love with them than we were already. I will seriously miss Rell and Elora...so so so much. And Symond....his charater arc was beautiful...if not surprsing to me. He definitley thawed my heart by the end.

As I got closer to the end of the book, I was afraid to finish. How do you want the stories to end for your favorite characters that you don't even want to say goodbye to? Well, MIranda did such an amazing job. I could not imagine a better ending for them all. Do I wish this was the end? Hell no. Was the ending beautiful and bring tears to my eye? Hell yes. So do I want to say goodbye....definitely not. But their goodbye was perfect.

There are no words good enough for this book. It crosses every T and dots every I. This series needs to be on every persons TBR. I loved this book. When I started this series I wasn’t sure about it just for the fact that some of it gave me a little PTSD from my childhood. I am so freaking glad I did stick with it. I loved the ending the beginning and the middle of this book. It had me wanting to finish it and I was thinking about it while I was doing something else.
Elora is a masterpiece of an FMC. She has all the feels about her. Don’t get me started on the ending and the revenge trope in this book. So freaking good.
Then you get Rell who is so patient with Elora and shows her such love and kindness but gives her the freedom she needs to spread her wings and be herself. He doesn’t suffocate her or make her feel like she is less in any way.
This book allows you view the whole series and love it and it ties it up perfectly. This series needs to be is a true masterpiece please go and read the trilogy.

I want to start by saying that I really appreciate this author’s writing and think that she’s very kind. This book tied up a lot of loose ends from the earlier books, and I’m very glad that I read it—the payoff was worth reading for. That being said, I think this book could have been shorter, and that it felt padded a little more than necessary. The writing also contained a very large amount of strained metaphors and strained similes.

I feel like it’s common for later books in a series to drop off a bit, so it’s understandable. The earlier books were much stronger, in my opinion, but this book is still worth reading.

The perfect ending to an amazing series!
Song of the Once Silenced was everything I wanted it to be. Miranda Howman did an incredible job wrapping up the trilogy.

I loved watching Elora and the other characters grow, heal, and fight to get their power back.

The slow-burn romance was beautiful, and the friendship between the characters was the best part of the book. It is a powerful story about survival and standing up for yourself. I highly recommend this whole series! I will be rereading this for years to come!

This is the dark fantasy that will keep you up reading. A Song Once Silenced is a perfect ending to this trilogy. The charectars growth throughout is fantastic and brought to a perfect ending here. I had never been so enthralled with a FMC as much as Elora. Rell was simply amazing. Simply put A Song Once Silenced is perfect. I am greatful to be chosen to recieve a ARC for a review.
