I am really getting hooked on Orc romances, and I have a few go too authors who right them so I really can enjoy every aspect of the Orc yummyness! Zora of course is one of them. Kruk was so fun to read. His being banished from his tribe, is never explained, but he's a force to be reckoned with. All business, and almost military precision, he takes the job of Fake fiance , like a tactical mission to be carried out. Failure is not an option. Colletta is dreading going to her sister's wedding alone, so she gets depressed and drinks too much. Unfortunately she talks out loud about her dilemma, and luckily Kruk is there as a perfectly willing Orc for the job. There are so many complications with this plan, since she had a story planned with Kruk, about how they met, but forgot the crazy story she told her Mom, to get her off her back, about being without a man. Great parts with how protective Kruk is, since he starts falling for her, when she hires him. I love the HEA ending! I really recommend any of Zora Black's books. Trish. A.
OK. Predictable? Yes. Tropey trope tropes? Yup. (Fake BF, fake engagement) Also hilarious? Definitely. Yummy slow burn? Oh yes. Silly and lighthearted? Absolutely.
Did I enjoy it? You bet, sister.
The plot is super predictable. The FMC's sister is getting married, and her smarmy ex is the best man. She wants to show up with a fake fiancé to be less pathetic and n maybe create some jealousy. The fake fiancé is a battle warrior specialist hired to be the big, hunky fake. The two end up madly in love and a HEA is the result.
Yes, it's all very simple and predictable. But I loved these two leads. Funny, silly, opposites, definitely perfect for each other. This is a fun read that's charming and adorable. The spice is limited, but it's fairly hot.
This is worth a read for sure. I took off a star for the stupid as hell, click bait title. Why do authirs do that?

Colletta is waking up when her hand hits a piece of paper. Through her hang over she starts to remember what happened the night before. Then the reality stands outside her door. Kruk is an orc, whose job is security. He meets Coletta at a bar and is soon with a contract to be her fake boyfriend at her sister's wedding. He has presented himself at her place with his battle axe. From this point on we have reality and hilarity bashing their heads together. Be prepared for hilarity as an orc meets the family of the female he has decided is his. Will reality and hilarity mesh perfectly or not? This is a story that will sit in the reader;s mind for a long time. Be prepared for chuckling and being turned into mush
I DNF’d this around 60%: there were just too many storyline errors. It’s her sister’s wedding to Marcus. Then it’s her ex-boyfriend’s wedding. His girlfriend is “Madison… or Madison”? Then it’s her sister’s wedding, but to Trevor? She’s attending? but has no room so they get the Lover’s Suite? What wedding has “couples activities” like some demented cruise ship game show with not one but TWO egg tosses? She’s a klutz, but still keeps drinking? She found Kruk in a bar or an advertisement from Craigslist? While I think there could be a fun story underneath all this mess, I just couldn’t continue.

I wanted to love this book so much. There is so much potential, so many funny parts and lines. The story is good. The main characters are great. I love Kruk. BUT there are sooooo many continuity errors. Like, an obscene amount. Names, bride/bridesmaid, general details…all get changed or don’t make sense at least once if not multiple times. Several plot lines got changed half way through the page. Repetitive sayings and concepts. Also…this is no way a “Daddy” book. I have no idea why it is named this. I did finish the book, but the last 25% was slimmed. I only finished it because it was on the shorter side.
Good story overall, sometimes hard to follow fact as they keep changing. Like did she meet him in a bar or Craigslist? One minute it’s her sisters wedding the next it’s her ex’s then back to the sisters? There’s more and I wish some more details about their development from fake to real had been fleshed out better. Maybe more public humiliation for the ex but that could just be my petty self coming out to play.
this book wasn't too bad i liked the idea of it. The author had alot of mistakes throughout but I could still follow. first she met him when someone pointed him out in a bar then later says she found him on Craigslist, another time her sister is the bride but says she is a bridesmaid, then kruk is wearing a suit and then she says he is in his tuxedo t shirt then back in the suit. idk oh well I guess
I had the best time with this one. I laughed so much. Colletta and Kruk were so extra. But they were so much fun. This was just the best story ever. Loved Kruk as her fake fiancé. The battle axe had me rolling. This isn’t my normal kind of story but I’m so glad that I grabbed this and gave it a chance. I absolutely loved it.
Author needs an editor for continuity or even just a beta reader because characters names change details are out of order and somebody could’ve told her if they had rather booked before publication. The story is good though would be better without silly errors.
The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Colletta and Kruk. The heartwarming story keeps us turning the pages with humor, a fake relationship, connection and steam.
