Stonewall University has two sets of rules.

The ones printed in the handbook…
And the ones whispered beneath the cliffside mansion where the Lords reign.

Killian Davenport is their favorite weapon, the beautiful devil every student fears. He looks like salvation, smiles like sin, and destroys like it’s an art form.

He destroyed me once.

After breaking my heart and walking away, he’s the last person I ever wanted to see again.

Naturally, fate disagreed.

Now we’re thrown back into each other’s orbit, and his hatred burns as hot as mine. He swears he’ll ruin me, drag me into his world of blood oaths, shadowed corridors, and secrets carved in stone.

But his threats don’t feel like war.

They feel like temptation.

His touch brands. His mouth promises ruin. Every time I push him back, the tension between us coils tighter. Sharper, darker, impossible to ignore.

And Killian isn’t the only danger.

The Serpents & Daggers mark me, and the closer I get to the truth, the tighter their grip becomes.

Now Killian has a choice.

Protect his brothers…

Or break every oath he’s sworn to keep me.
A dark, steamy enemies-to-lovers college romance with secret societies, obsession, ruthless devotion, and a hero who falls first and fights dirty to keep what’s his.

I am completely hooked on the dark, chaotic world of Stonewall University.

The atmosphere is thick with mystery and danger, thanks to the secret society plotline that keeps you on your toes from the very first page. It is the rare kind of story where the tension feels palpable and the stakes feel genuinely high, making the campus setting feel like a ticking time bomb. I loved being totally immersed in the grit and drama of it all.

The chemistry between Lexi and Killian is pure fire. Lexi is such a fantastic heroine because she is brave enough to stand her ground even when she is terrified, and her dynamic with the cold, possessive Killian is incredibly intense. Watching them navigate their messy past and the resentment that still lingers between them is pure angst, but it is so satisfying to watch.
They are a classic enemies-to-lovers pair who know exactly how to push every single one of each other's buttons.

While the romance is definitely the main event, the emotional depth of their shared history really surprised me. It is not just a surface-level story about attraction, but a deeper look at forgiveness and the scars we carry.

If you enjoy dark, high-angst reads that pull you in and don't let go, this is the one for you.

Huge thank you to Sienna Cross & Ember St. Vincent and Grey’s Promotions for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨

I’m always a sucker for dark college romances with secret societies, and this one had plenty of drama, tension, and mystery to keep me turning the pages. Stonewall University felt like the kind of place where everyone is hiding something, and I loved trying to piece together what was really going on with the Serpents & Daggers. There was enough intrigue woven into the story that it never felt like it was relying solely on the romance to keep things interesting.

Kingston is exactly the kind of MMC that would annoy me but somehow doesn't – arrogant, controlling, frustrating, and convinced he's always right. Underneath all of that, though, there's a lot more going on with him than he wants anyone to see. Wren was a great match for him because she doesn't just roll over and accept his behaviour. She challenges him, pushes back, and has her own reasons for keeping people at a distance. Their history together added so much to the story, and I loved all the tension, resentment, and chemistry that came from them being forced back into each other's lives. Some of their interactions had me equally wanting to shake them and root for them at the same time.

The romance kept me invested, the mystery surrounding the secret society was interesting, and I genuinely enjoyed spending time with the characters. It was a really entertaining read and a great start to the series. If you enjoy dark college romance, second-chance tension, secret societies, and morally grey MMCs who make terrible decisions for reasons they think are noble, this is definitely worth picking up.

Thank you to the authors and Greys Promo for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Review of Advance Copy received from Author

Heartless Lord is the kind of dark romance that wraps velvet around your throat and pulls tighter with every chapter. Between the secret societies, the elite campus corruption, and the dangerously addictive tension, this book had me fully locked inside Stonewall University’s twisted world from page one.

And Lexi? She was exactly the kind of FMC this story needed. Strong without pretending to be fearless, wounded without ever feeling weak, and stubborn enough to stare down monsters even when her whole world is unraveling around her. Watching her go toe-to-toe with Killian was like watching a match thrown into gasoline. Every argument sparked. Every glance threatened combustion.

Killian Davenport is pure dark romance poison in the best possible way. Cold, brutal, possessive, and absolutely unraveling underneath all that control. He acts like Lexi is his enemy while orbiting her like she’s the only thing keeping him alive. The man threatens destruction but delivers obsession. And the deeper the story goes, the clearer it becomes that his hatred has always been tangled up with devotion so intense it borders on madness.

The chemistry between Lexi and Killian is viciously good. This isn’t soft romance. It’s sharp edges, bruised hearts, stolen touches, and tension so thick it practically fogs the pages. Every scene between them feels loaded with history, resentment, temptation, and the terrifying possibility that they could either save each other or burn everything down together.

The secret society plotline adds this gorgeous layer of danger over everything. Hidden rituals, blood oaths, shifting loyalties, whispers in dark corridors… the atmosphere feels drenched in storm clouds and candle smoke. It gives the romance this constant sense of looming disaster that makes the emotional payoff hit even harder.

And the spice? Absolutely sinful. Possessive. Emotional. Unhinged in all the right places. The kind of chemistry that leaves scorch marks on the storyline.

If dark academia and enemies-to-lovers had a beautifully corrupted love child, this book would be it. Lexi and Killian consumed me completely, and I already know this book is going to live rent-free in my head like a dangerous little curse.

Another example of why I love bookstagram, finding new books and authors from my friends! Give me a dark, college romance any day and I am here for it! Heartless Lord by Sienna Cross and Ember St. Vincent is book one in the Lords of Stonewall University Series and it was so addictive. Full of secrets, obsession, revenge, and two friends that became enemies but have so much tension and emotional scars that refuse to stay buried. It’s a dark and unhinged world and I loved it!

Lexi Vega and Killian Davenport were best friends from the time they were young. Inseparable and so close until one day, a horrible experience changes everything and pulls them completely apart. She is fierce. She’s been through hell but refuses to back down, pure strength and backbone and not afraid to show it! Determined to build a new future, she finds herself very far away from Arizona at Stonewall University on a scholarship she fought hard to earn. He is the untouchable king of Stonewall, gorgeous, so cocky, such a bully and totally closed off to everyone. Brought into the unhinged secret society with his crazy stepbrother Bass and his disgusting stepdad Stan, he wears a mask and the man Lexi once knew is totally gone. He is so haunted by betrayal and convinced Lexi destroyed everything they once had, he is shocked to find her in the hallways of his university. And the danger closes in, so many secrets and lies. And these two absolutely fight the painful past emotions AND the undeniable connection, the absolute angst and longing that burns. Their connection is raw, intense, and impossible to ignore. And when they do give in, holy hell it is hot as fire!

Add in the rest of the Lords, more morally gray men I can't wait to get to know! And the mean girl, the best friend and we have so much to look forward to in the next books!

If you love an unapologetically dark, emotionally intense story full of obsession, revenge, trauma, and hot as hell chemistry, you need to add this book now! I can't wait for the next one!

If you like dark, twisted, angsty romance, then this book is for you!

Lexi is entering Stonewall University, but four years ago something horrible happened to her that changed her life forever. Four years ago she lost her best friend trying to be honest, and she never thought she’d see him again.

Enter Killian. He’s the king on campus. He also has a deep dislike of Lexi after she tried to ruin everything for him. He was not expecting to see her again, and yet, she’s here in Stonewall University, and everything starts to come back to the surface.

There is so much history between these two that gets dragged up, and many moments where these two clash due to that history. Will they ever get the chance to work through it?

I loved this they into the new Lords of Stonewall University series, and I can’t wait for book 2!

Dark romance with a side of morally gray obsessed man? Yes please!

She is starting at a new school and getting that fresh start she always wanted. New friends and he is no where in sight. Or so she thinks. His name is everywhere and now she can’t stop thinking of her ex best friend. Till he shows up in her class one day.

Second chances aren’t a common thing to come by especially when he is now your enemy, and neither of you want anything to do with another.

She has always been his, even when he never admitted it out loud. He finally gets her again and this time isn’t letting go. He’s making it very clear who she belongs to even if she is against it.

Heartless Lord by Sienna Cross & Ember St. Vincent caught my attention the moment I read the blurb and I couldn’t wait to pick it up.

The prologue was difficult to get through, but I felt like it was necessary because it added so much weight to the story and, as a reader, helped me understand Lexi better. At the same time, as the story unfolded, the prologue also made me a little more upset with Killian, but that was actually an interesting part of the book for me. I kept waiting for the moment when Killian would regret his words and actions. The harsh way he treats Lexi truly broke my heart, especially because I knew more than he did.

I honestly don’t know if I could have forgiven him if I were in Lexi’s place, which is why the most interesting part of the story for me was discovering how things would eventually fall into place between them. And overall, I liked what I found, although I do wish this type of story had carried a little more emotion. Maybe it just wasn’t the right moment for me and, under different circumstances, I would’ve had a different experience, but for me it mattered quite a lot that I didn’t fully feel that connection with the characters, the kind that makes you truly feel their emotions.

This is a honest review for an ARC I received from Grey’s Promo.

Heartless Lord by Sienna Cross & Ember St. Vincent completely took over my life while I was reading it. I expected a good dark romance, but what I got was an addictive, twisty, emotionally charged story that had me hooked from the very first page. Between the secret societies, campus corruption, dark academia atmosphere, and obsession-fueled romance, I was fully immersed in the world of Stonewall University and never wanted to leave.

Lexi Vega was exactly the kind of heroine this story needed. She's strong, determined, and refuses to let her past define her. After working hard to earn a scholarship to Stonewall University, she finds herself thrown back into the orbit of the one person she never expected to see again. What I loved most about Lexi was that she wasn't fearless, but she never stopped fighting. She stood her ground, asked questions, and refused to back down even when it would have been easier to walk away. Watching her navigate the dangerous world surrounding Stonewall while staying true to herself made her incredibly easy to root for.

Then there's Killian Davenport. If dark romance heroes are your thing, prepare yourself. Killian is cold, ruthless, possessive, and absolutely dangerous, but underneath all those walls is a man carrying years of hurt and unresolved feelings. The deeper the story goes, the more obvious it becomes that his anger toward Lexi is rooted in something far more complicated than simple hatred. Killian spends a lot of time acting like Lexi is his enemy while simultaneously being unable to stay away from her, and honestly, I ate up every second of it.

The chemistry between Lexi and Killian was incredible. Every conversation felt loaded with tension, resentment, attraction, and years of unspoken emotions. Their history added so much depth to every interaction, and the push-and-pull between them kept me completely invested. This isn't a soft romance. It's sharp edges, bruised hearts, lingering wounds, and feelings that refuse to stay buried. The angst was perfection, and the emotional payoff was absolutely worth the wait.

One of my favorite parts of the book was the secret society storyline. The Serpents & Daggers weren't simply background noise—they drove the story forward. The blood oaths, hidden rituals, shifting loyalties, and dangerous secrets created a constant sense of tension that kept me turning pages. The dark academia atmosphere was beautifully done, and there was always a feeling that something dangerous was lurking just around the corner.

And the spice? Let's just say it absolutely delivered. Intense, emotional, possessive, and perfectly suited to the darker tone of the story. Combined with the obsession, mystery, and emotional history between Lexi and Killian, it created the perfect storm of chaos and chemistry.

What surprised me most was how emotional the story became. Beneath the dark romance, secrets, and danger is a story about betrayal, trust, forgiveness, and the consequences of choices made years earlier. There were moments that genuinely broke my heart as more pieces of the past came to light.

Overall, Heartless Lord is a dark, addictive enemies-to-lovers romance packed with obsession, secrets, danger, and unforgettable chemistry. Lexi and Killian completely consumed me, and Stonewall University is exactly the kind of twisted world I love getting lost in. This was an incredible start to the Lords of Stonewall University series, and I cannot wait to see where the authors take us next. 🖤🔥📚

This is the first book in the Lords of Stonewall University. Killian and Lexi have been friends their whole lives. They’ve known each other since kids and have always spent time together. They’ve been there for each other through the good times and especially through the bad times. When they’re in high school a very traumatizing thing happened to Lexi while something incredible happened for Killian’s family. She decides to keep it from him because she doesn’t want him to be upset and is ashamed to say what happened to her. When she can’t take it anymore, she tells Killian. However, she is heartbroken when he doesn’t believe her and thinks she’s making it up so he doesn’t leave. He got a great opportunity to leave to a very elite university and he knows she doesn’t want him to leave so he thinks that she would make up something to make him not t want to leave her. Lexi feels betrayed and never wants to talk to him again.

We see Killian years later at the top of his class at the Elite University. He’s not only in a fraternity, but he’s also in a secret society with his four friends. Everything is made for them. He’s ruthless, people are scared of him and his friends, and women throw themselves at him. The one person he’s always trying to impress his stepfather. He thinks he has accomplished everything and nothing will change that until Lexi steps foot into that university. His whole world comes crashing down because he thinks she betrayed him and now he wants to make her pay for inventing lies. Lexi cannot believe this is the university he mentioned. She got the opportunity to go to the university as well and she’s gonna make the best of it. She doesn’t care that he threatens her, bullies her, and humiliates her. She just pushes right back. Sooner or later all that push and pull have them admitting no matter how much they hate each other, they want each other. Unfortunately Killian‘s secret society is out to get Lexi and if he doesn’t do something, she will die. Now he faces an impossible choice. As much as he hates to admit it, he cares for her and doesn’t want anything to happen but he’s also very loyal to the brothers in this society. What will he choose and will Lexi be ok?

This book drew me in since the beginning. I was on the edge of my seat. I didn’t know who was more in danger at times, Lexi or Killian. I felt bad for Lexi and everything she went through. Trying to be strong but when it came to Killian, she just melted. It was so sad that she kept trying to prove to him she never lied and kept feeling betrayed every time he said maybe she was mistaken. She was determined to make him see the truth but knew it would hurt him once he knew. I felt bad for Killian too. He was a jerk to her but no one really knew the real him. It got tiring for him to wear that mask at all times. He finally dropped that mask when he was with her. He let her see the real him even at his most cruel. Their chemistry was so intense it lead to really hot scenes. I loved his guy friends and how loyal they were to him even when he was trying to protect Lexi. They were loyal to the society but more to him. This was a wonderful start to a new series. It was filled with drama, humor, danger, angst, action, heat, suspense, and shocking twists. I can’t wait for the next one.

At first I was very hesitant to read Heartless Lord, I’m not huge on college romance but I love my girl Sienna Cross and I knew this was going to be a good book BUT good does not even begin to describe Heartless Lord. This book was hands down amazing! Wow is the only word that comes to my mind, this took dark romance to a whole new level and I LOVED every single page. This book had me hooked from page one of the prologue until the very last page. Lexi Vega, our fierce FMC, she is strong and a force to be reckoned with. Lexi received a scholarship to Stonewall University, one she worked hard for and came very well deserved. Four years before entering Stonewall University Lexi’s life changed, she went through a horrible experience and it cost her her best friend Killian, he was her person, her protector. She never thought she would ever see him again. Killian Davenport - tall, covered in tattoos, the campus king at Stonewall University. He has a strong dislike towards Lexi, he loved her and cared deeply for her and he is convinced that Lexi filled his head with lies four years before to keep him from leaving her. When he comes face to face with her on campus, the one person he thought he would never see again, he is determined to make her pay for her betrayal. Unfortunately, Lexi lands herself on the radar of his step brother Sebastian who is pure evil. Killian’s protective instincts kick in and he will stop at noting to make sure that Lexi is protected. While everything is happening and chaos is surrounding both Lexi and Killian, both are fighting their own demons.

❥The fire in her eyes had me in a chokehold. It was a far cry from the vapid debutantes and heiresses I’d been around for the past five years. My lungs constricted, unable to suck in the full breath. No other girl had dragged out so many reactions from em, so many damn emotions. I’d f**king missed her. And hated it. Hated her even more.

The chemistry between Killian and Lexi, the tension, the angst, is what made this enemies to lovers dark romance so good. Heartless Lord is the first book in this series and we hit the ground running and we did not stop until the very last page. It’s dark, it’s unhinged, it’s chaotic, it’s full of obsession and passion in all the best ways. Sienna Cross and Ember St Vincent created an exciting, dark twisted world that will keep you hooked throughout the whole book. This was such a strong start to this amazing series and I can’t wait for book 2! This is a MUST read and needs to be at the top of your TBR, I promise you will not be disappointed. ✨Please do check your trigger warnings✨ Thank you to Grey’s Promotions and authors Sienna Cross and Ember St Vincent for this opportunity to read this eARC. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Dark, twisted and so much angst, now this is definitely what I was looking for because hey I t’s been awhile since I’ve dived into a dark college romance. While Ember St. Vincent is a new author to me I have read Siennas books before and this duo absolutely smashed it👏🏼

Our main characters Killian and Lexi most certainly have a history, they were friends and attended the same high school. When the book opens Lexi is on her way to the ACTs exams but due to her father’s truck breaking down she’s a bit behind schedule. While she is walking the highway a stranger offers her a ride and this stranger most certainly oversteps all boundaries and Lexi flees directly to Killian.

Of course when Killian sees her in distress he comes to her assistance but before Lexi could even get her words straight about the incident she sees said stranger at Killian’s house. Yes this stranger turned out to be Killian’s new step dad. When Killian announces that his family will be moving and he’d like Lexi to go with him, she firmly declines and she eventually tells him why. My heart absolutely broke for Lexi because in this moment her longest best friend thought she was completely making up what had happened😭.

Fast forward to years later Killian is at Stonewall university and is a part of secret society on campus. Killian definitely turned more cold over the years that’s for sure but he tries to keep these parts beneath the surface when he can. A lot of this was being exposed to the society and also due to his step brother Bastian (who I have no words to describe this human, and I’m not surprised like father like son).

Lexi is studying to be a doctor and has recently received a scholarship to Stonewall university. Of course she was in quite a shock when she figures out Killian also attends this university. Lexi does face a lot of challenges when Killian finds out that she is a student, even though there is a mutual dislike it is clear that Killian still cares because he doesn’t want her anywhere near the society. But of course Lexi accidentally puts herself in their sights when she over hears something she probably shouldn’t have. Lexi is fierce and a girl who certainly won’t back down. I love a FMC that has a back bone when it comes to the MMC.

The tension between these two you could cut with a spoon and that is putting it lightly. Their journey certainly is not straight forward and I quite liked this. There is a lot of self reflection and digging a little deeper into past events especially on Killian’s part and when the truth comes to light about all those years ago, well let’s just say my heart broke for the years these two lost.

I loved that the secret society elements definitely took centre stage as sometimes with college x secret society books it is quite a subplot, but that is not the case with this book.

I won’t give to much away about this story but it Lexi and Killian was a great opener to the series and I am very interested as to where our authors are gonna take us next.

Thank you to Greys Promo who provided this e-arc for my honest thoughts 💭

Lexi and Killian were once best friends headed towards something more until an incident and its aftermath tore them apart. Years later, Lexi sees him again, this time as an elite Lord in her university’s secret society. They butt heads at every turn but their past just can’t be forgotten and they fight their inner feelings just as they fight the dark and dangerous world around them.

Y’all give me a moment to recover cause this was SUCH an elite read. A true friends-to-enemies-to-lovers done RIGHT. The chemistry between Lexi and Killian was absolutely FIRE. What I loved most was that even though they had both changed so much as adults, the foundation of what they once had never really disappeared. Their history was felt in every interaction, every argument, every little moment where they slipped back into being them before the stuff that tore them apart.

Lexi, my girlyyyy. She’s been through SO much and my heart absolutely broke for everything in her past. But more than anything, I was just so darn proud of her. She’s strong, determined, and refuses to let everything she’s suffered define her so watching her fight for the life she wanted made me root for her so hard.

“You’re mine,” he mumbled against my pulsating flesh. “Mine back then, when we were just kids, mine now, and mine forever.”

And Killian was on a whole other level for me. This man had his mask on and his walls up sky high and he had some impossible choices to make while trying so hard to hide who he really was, but like who are you kidding, sir? You were whipped since day one. The possessiveness, the protectiveness, the way he tried so hard to fight it all while still putting Lexi above everyone/everything else? Underneath all that ice, he’s just a man hopelessly in love, and Lexi holds the key to every locked up part of him.

But more than anything, what made this book so bingeworthy was the plot that had me on EDGE. The push and pull between these two was magnetic, honestly that's the only word I can use to describe it (as cheesy as it sounds). And I have to say, this was the perfect balance of university secret society and dark romance cause nothing felt juvenile or over the top. I normally struggle with secret society books because they can sometimes lose me, but this one felt different.

I already knew Sienna Cross was going to deliver because I’m very familiar with her work, but Ember St. Vincent was completely new to me and wow, I’m officially a fan. These two collaborated so seamlessly and I’m genuinely so impressed with what they created together. Stonewall University and its Lords have officially got me hooked. Of course, I refuse to spoil who the next book is about cause the reveal was oh sooooo crazy but OH MY GOD. That ending? Yeah, ummm so book two cannot come soon enough and I’ll just be lurking here until it comes out.

Heartless Lords is a gripping dark academia romance that blends mystery, obsession, and forbidden attraction with plenty of emotional intensity into an addictive read. The story follows Lexi, a medical student who earns a scholarship to the prestigious Stonewall University, only to come face-to-face with someone she never expected to see again, her former best friend, Killian. Once inseparable, the pair were torn apart four years earlier after a traumatic event changed the course of Lexi’s life just as Killian’s own world was shifting. While Lexi has been trying to move forward with her dreams of becoming a doctor, Killian now sits at the top of Stonewall’s social hierarchy as a member of a powerful and secretive underground society. Harbouring a deep resentment toward the girl he believes betrayed him, he is determined to make Lexi pay. What follows is a tense and emotionally charged battle between two people whose feelings are far more complicated than either wants to admit.

Heartless Lords is a compelling start to the Lords of Stonewall University series. With its dark academic setting, addictive romance, intriguing mystery, and unforgettable characters, it’s a book that will appeal to fans of enemies-to-lovers romances with a darker edge. With a plot filled with twists, secrets, and unexpected revelations I was hooked from the start. Killian is the quintessential dark antihero, possessive, ruthless, and driven by an obsession that he disguises as hatred. But it quickly becomes apparent that the line between hatred and love has long since blurred. His fixation on her drives much of the story, creating an intense dynamic that is impossible to ignore. Lexi proved to be an equally compelling heroine. Despite finding herself in an unfamiliar and often hostile environment, she refuses to be intimidated and stands up for herself. Her strength and determination made her easy to root for, especially as she navigates the complicated emotions and dangerous secrets surrounding Killian and Stonewall University. The chemistry between these two is undeniable. Every interaction is layered with years of unresolved emotions, creating a tension that is impossible to ignore.

The secret society element added an extra layer of intrigue to the story. The blood oaths, rituals, initiation trials, and power struggles help create a dark, almost gothic atmosphere that perfectly complements the romance. The sense of danger is ever-present, and the conflict between loyalty and desire raises the stakes as Killian finds himself torn between the future promised by the society and the girl he’s beginning to realise means more to him than anything else. And after that epilogue I’m more than ready for the next book.

Thank you so much to the authors and Grey's Promotions for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Some books slowly pull you into their world. Heartless Lord practically grabbed me by the hand and dragged me straight into the chaos of Stonewall University.

This was my first time reading a book by Sienna Cross and Ember St. Vincent, and I genuinely loved every minute of it. Between the dark academia atmosphere, secret societies, campus corruption, dangerous loyalties, and obsession-fuelled romance, I was completely invested from the very first chapter.

Lexi was such a refreshing heroine to follow. She's strong, determined, and refuses to back down, but what I appreciated most was that she never felt unrealistically fearless. She carries her scars, makes mistakes, and struggles with her past, yet she continues to push forward. That made her incredibly easy to connect with.

Killian, meanwhile, is exactly the kind of dark romance hero readers either love or love to hate. Cold, controlling, ruthless, and carrying enough emotional baggage to fill an entire luggage carousel, he spends much of the story fighting feelings he clearly doesn't understand how to handle. The deeper we get into his perspective, the more layers start peeling back, and I found myself equally frustrated by him and completely fascinated by him.

The chemistry between Lexi and Killian was probably my favourite part of the entire book. Every conversation felt loaded with years of history, resentment, attraction, and unresolved emotions. The tension was relentless. Their dynamic isn't soft or sweet. It's messy, complicated, emotional, and impossible to ignore.

I also loved the secret society storyline. It wasn't simply there to create drama. It actively shaped the story and added a constant sense of danger hanging over everything. The hidden rituals, shifting loyalties, and whispered threats gave the book an atmosphere that felt dark, immersive, and incredibly addictive.

What surprised me most was how emotional parts of this story became. Beneath the secrets, danger, and romance is a story about betrayal, trust, forgiveness, and the long-lasting impact of choices made years earlier. There were moments that genuinely broke my heart for both characters.

If dark academia and enemies-to-lovers romance had a beautifully corrupted love child, Heartless Lord would be it.

If you enjoy morally grey heroes, fierce heroines, secret societies, obsession-fuelled romance, second-chance tension, and stories that keep you glued to the pages long past your bedtime, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

I cannot wait to see where the Lords of Stonewall University series goes next.

Heartless Lord is an addictive start to what promises to be a gripping series. It blends enemies‑to‑lovers tension, secret societies, and emotional depth. The story opens four years in the past, giving us our first glimpse of Lexi and Killian. While Lexi’s perspective is more fully explored early on, Killian initially comes across as sweet and caring. I felt this made his transformation into the present timeline all the more striking. When the story shifts forward, the contrast is immediate. Killian is no longer the boy Lexi once knew, but someone hardened by his environment and shaped by those around him.

Lexi’s journey to Stonewall University is compelling. Her determination, resilience, and refusal to let past trauma define her make her an easy character to like and to rally around. Her goal is simple. She wants to keep her head down, focus on her studies, and avoid anything, or anyone, who could jeopardise her future. Of course, that becomes complicated when Killian re-enters her life.

The dynamic between Lexi and Killian is one of the strongest aspects of the book. Their push-and-pull tension feels alive. To me, it was driven by unresolved pain, betrayal, and lingering connection. The flashbacks woven throughout the story gradually reveal what went wrong between them, and this adds emotional weight, it also keeps the reader hooked. Lexi’s past is particularly heartbreaking, and her hurt toward Killian is completely understandable, he was the one person she needed, and he failed her.

Killian, on the other hand, is layered and intriguing. His multiple “masks” and shifting personality make him unpredictable, and watching him slowly confront the truth, and his own mistakes, adds depth to his character.

The writing flows seamlessly between both authors, creating, smooth and engaging reading. The pacing keeps the story addictive, while the supporting cast is well-developed enough to spark curiosity about what we can expect in future books. The added suspense surrounding the fraternity brings an extra edge to the narrative, keeping you on the edge of your seat.

And yes, there’s plenty of spice. But what stands out is that Lexi created boundaries, refusing to fully give in until Killian begins to acknowledge the truth of what happened in the past.

The twist hinting at the next couple was unexpected and incredibly well done, setting up the next book in an exciting way.

Overall, Heartless Lord delivers a satisfying mix of angst, chemistry, and intrigue. If you love enemies‑to‑lovers romance with secret societies, and flawed but compelling characters, this one is book definitely worth picking up.

HEARTLESS LORD is the first instalment in the contemporary, new adult LORDS OF STONEWALL dark, erotic, college romance co-authored by Sienna Cross and Ember St. Vincent. This is Stonewall legacy heir Killian Davenport, and Lexi Vega’s story line.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Killian and Lexi) HEARTLESS LORD follows in the wake of the arrival and transfer of Lexi Vega. Stonewall University is an elite school for the rich and connected but Lexi Vega was neither, and arrive on a scholarship but our heroine never expected to come face to face with her past, the boy she once loved, a man who has grown cold and distant. At sixteen years of age, Lexi’s life was destroyed, and the fall-out pulled Killian out of her life. Fast forward to present day, Killian, a member of a secret society within the hallowed walls of Stonewall University, is taking control of our story line heroine, the woman whose heart he broke, and trust he destroyed but all is not as it appears to be at Stonewall University, and our couple will find themselves on the run, in the hopes of staying one step ahead of the people in charge.

The world building is dark and oppressive; the characters are morally gray and their actions are questionable; the power inequality threatens anyone who goes against a list of secret rules.

The relationship between Lexi and Killian is one of second chances, of a sorts. A tempestuous unequal power dynamic in which Lexi finds herself dominated by the man she once loved, a man who has secrets of his own. As Killian seduces Lexi under his control, the truth will reveal a dark and dangerous secret that threatens to destroy everyone involved. The $ex scenes are erotic and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of questionable, destructive and powerful secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to Lexi’s roommate Cordelia, mean girl Lorelei, as well as several member of Stonewall University’s secret society, a society that rules with intimidate and blood.

HEARTLESS LORD is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, abuse and manipulation, family and relationships, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is dark, dramatic, and haunting; the romance is edgy and visceral; the characters are tragic, arrogant, brutal and brooding.

Four years ago, Lexi’s life changed when her car broke down and she was picked up by the devil in disguise. costing her her best friend, her sense of safety, and her future. Now she finds herself on the campus at Stonewall University on full scholarship, and runs into the last person she ever wanted to see again. Her former best friend makes it clear that he hates her more than ever, and will do everything he can to ruin her, but when she hears something she shouldn’t, she realizes that there’s more happening on the campus than what’s on the surface.

Killian has never forgiven Lexi for the lies he’s convinced she told him to keep him from leaving 4 years ago, and hasn’t let anyone get close to him since. When she appears on campus, he’s determined to make her pay for the way she betrayed him, no matter the cost, but when he realizes that she’s made it onto the radar of people more dangerous that him, he can’t help his old protective instincts from kicking in. While he has no intention of falling for her again, he can’t resist the urge to touch, and possess her, even as he tries to keep the secret side of his life from her.

I received an early copy of this book from Grey’s Promotions and I absolutely loved it! The prologue had me hooked even when I read it at the end of Matteo’s book, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the full book. I will say that while this book deals with heavy subject matters (check trigger warnings), the authors handle the topics beautifully, weaving them into the story without glamourizing anything. I loved how they didn’t reveal the whole history between Lexi and Killian right away, feeding us bits and pieces until they revealed exactly how they fell apart when they were younger. The pull between them is stronger than ever, and as their darknesses call to each other, its clear that they were inevitable. I love that despite what she’s been through, Lexi finds her strength, and while overly protective, Killian doesn’t try to stifle her, but stands by her side. This book was dark and twisty in the best possible way, and I can’t wait to see what will happen next on this campus.

✨ ARC REVIEW: Heartless Lord ✨
by Sienna Cross & Ember St. Vincent
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

🖤 dark college romance
🖤 enemies to lovers
🖤 secret society
🖤 childhood friends
🖤 second chance
🖤 obsessive MMC
🖤 morally gray chaos

I went into Heartless Lord thinking I’d enjoy it… but I was NOT prepared to become completely consumed by it. From the very first chapter this book wrapped its hands around my throat and refused to let go. The atmosphere was dark, addictive, intense, and dripping with tension in the best possible way.

Lexi Vega was such a strong FMC. She’s determined, resilient, and trying to survive in a world that was never built for someone like her. Watching her return to Stonewall University only to come face to face with Killian again? Absolutely brutal in the best way. Their history, the betrayal, the unresolved feelings, the anger simmering underneath every interaction… it made every scene feel explosive.

And Killian Davenport?? This man was possessive, cold, dangerous, and completely obsessed even when he wanted to hate her. The push and pull between them was EVERYTHING. The chemistry was off the charts and the emotional tension had me flipping pages like my life depended on it.

The secret society storyline added such a sinister edge to the story too. Between the corruption, manipulation, twisted family dynamics, and constant feeling that something terrible was about to happen, this book had me hooked the entire time. It felt chaotic, dark, emotional, and completely unhinged in the most addictive way possible.

This wasn’t just romance …. it was obsession, revenge, pain, passion, and survival all tangled together. By the end I was sitting there stunned and already desperate for the next book.

I can’t wait for Axel and Loralei’s book next!! Holy cow!

If you love dark academia vibes, toxic tension, morally gray men, and romances that completely consume your brain chemistry… you NEED this book on your TBR immediately. 🖤

✨ Please check trigger warnings before reading. ✨

A huge thanks to the authors Sienna Cross and Ember St.Vincent and Greys PR for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I started this book at around 10pm, thinking I’d only read a couple chapters, 5 hours I was finishing it. It was THAT good and I can’t wait for more from this series.
I loved Lexi. One of my favorite moments was when she stood up in the dining hall to Kill when he tried to bully Micah over a shirt. Her calling him an asshole was great. She didn’t back down from him and I like that in a mfc. And how she always put Lorelei in her place was the icing on the cake. That’s my favorite thing to see in dark bully books- the mfc never backing down to the mean girl and basically leaving them speechless. There were moments though I would’ve liked her to be more stronger when it came to falling so easily into Kill’s bed.

Kill, I loved also, but he frustrated me too. I thought it was cowardly and f’ed up how he called Lexi a liar in the past- especially since he saw how she’d been acting when she showed up at his house and then the week following. That’s the main reason I wished she’d been stronger at times when it came to him and sex. But I loved seeing his protectiveness over her. He had a lot of hurt and anger, and swore he hated her, but he never once allowed ANYONE to hurt her.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I love a bully romance where the mc’s have a deep and long history. And I love seeing the villains get what they deserve- and what Lexi did to Stan was epic!

One thing I will say is when I first started this book and saw that Kill had a reg fb who he’d been hooking up with for over a year, I was hesitant because I hate ow drama when it involves a jealous bitch who has a sexual history with the mmc. But this was not bad at all. Once Lexi came back into the picture, she was all Kill wanted. And he made it VERY clear to Lorelei every time she showed jealousy or indicted they were a couple, that they were never a couple, and would never be.

The next book is her and Axel’s story. It’s rare to see the mean girl bitch get a story, so even though I hated her in this book, I am a little curious to see where her story goes- plus I absolutely loved Axel!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Heartless Lord by Sienna Cross and Ember St. Vincent absolutely delivered everything I love about dark college romance. From the very first chapter, I was completely hooked by the mystery, the tension, and the addictive push and pull between Lexi and Killian.

Killian Davenport is the kind of morally gray hero who steals every scene he's in. He is ruthless, possessive, intimidating, and completely unforgettable. Underneath all that darkness, though, is a man fighting a battle between duty and desire, and watching those walls slowly crack for Lexi was one of my favorite parts of the story.

Lexi is exactly the kind of heroine I love reading about. She is strong, determined, and refuses to back down even when she's surrounded by danger. The chemistry between her and Killian practically jumps off the page. Every interaction was filled with tension, emotion, and enough sparks to keep me glued to my Kindle long past bedtime.

The secret society aspect added such an incredible layer to the story. The world of Stonewall University felt dark, dangerous, and full of secrets waiting to be uncovered. I loved the suspense woven throughout the romance and how every revelation raised the stakes even higher.

What really stood out to me was the emotional depth beneath all the darkness. This was not just a story about obsession and attraction. It was a story about trust, loyalty, sacrifice, and what happens when love forces someone to question everything they've ever believed.

Sienna Cross and Ember St. Vincent created a captivating world filled with secrets, danger, heartbreak, and undeniable passion. Heartless Lord is dark, addictive, emotional, and impossible to put down. If you love enemies to lovers, secret societies, morally gray heroes, and romances that keep your heart racing from beginning to end, this book needs to be at the top of your TBR.

I devoured every page and was left wanting more.

Sienna Cross and Ember St. Vincent did a great job with this book, and what a start to a new series! Killian and Lexi were once best friends, each other's safe place, and holding each other together through pain and hardship, until a devastating truth came to light, one that Killian refused to believe. It destroyed their friendship. Years later, they find themselves at Stonewall University carrying resentment (or that’s what they thought) but every encounter between them is fueled by undeniable tension, lingering emotions, and a burning desire. And even when Killian didn't believe Lexi, a part of him still wanted to protect her. However, he was deeply immersed in a world built on wealth, power, loyalty, and secrecy, one he can’t escape, while Lexi challenged everything he thought he knew and forced him to question his choices and beliefs. Despite the pain he caused when he abandoned her at her lowest, Lexi still found herself drawn to him. As the truth begins to unravel, we discover that beneath Killian's anger, darkness, and ruthless exterior is a man torn between loyalty, his love for his mother, duty to a man who was nothing but a liar and a predator, and feelings he can no longer ignore. Lexi was strong, determined, and unwilling to let anyone walk over her. Even when surrounded by danger and powerful people desperate to bury the truth, she refused to back down or become a victim again. The secret society element created an atmosphere filled with mystery, danger, suspense, and constant uncertainty, and the authors wrote this story in a way that made every emotion feel raw and real. Beneath all the darkness, angst, obsession, and tension is a story about trust, loyalty, forgiveness, and love. If you enjoy dark college romance, childhood friends-to-enemies-to-lovers, secret societies, morally gray heroes, intense chemistry, emotional angst, and plenty of suspense, Heartless Lord is for you.

* ARC REVIEW * 3.5 stars ⭐

Another ARC from Sienna Cross and this time with Ember St Vincent!

This book is definitely darker and more spicy than Sienna’s other series I have read and I think at first this really threw me because I didn’t know that was what I was getting myself in for. Don’t get me wrong, I’m an AVID smut reader and love a dark romance, I think I was just surprised because I didn’t realise just *how* spicy this would be. (Heads up.. it’s HOT 🌶️)

It was extremely fast paced and got stuck in with the storyline right from the first couple of chapters. I really enjoy fast pacing just because it stops me from getting bored, and this definitely ticked this box.

However, just because there was always something happening, doesn’t mean it was necessarily always for the best. Sometimes the plot holes felt a bit repetitive - they are nasty to each other, they fuck, they are nasty to each other again, they fuck again, some secret society shit goes down, they fuck again. 😭 BUT I did still enjoy it and it was very Rina Kent-esque, with the plot and characters. It gives the dark romance vibes that you want, but also is a very quick and easy read.

I would’ve liked to have seen more of Killian and Lexi’s relationship from the past, as this is massively glossed over, however I guess if it’s not integral to the storyline there would’ve been no need for it. Just personally for me, getting one off sentences about how sweet Killian used to be, made me crave knowing more about him back then because it was such a stark contrast to how he is now.

Killian was everything you want from a dark romance mmc. Possessive, FIT, touch her and die, obsessed, falls hard and fast… the list goes on.

I definitely want to read the next book in the series… AXEL AND LORELAI ?!!!! What do you even mean. Gage is dark and mysterious and I’m getting the vibes that he kinda likes Cordelia… but axel and lorelai I was NOT expecting because we literally haven’t any page time where the two of them speak to one another. So knowing that the next book is about those two, I’m SAT !!!!!

This book was everything I didn’t know I needed, because I’ll be honest I didn’t have too high hopes for this because I’ve read wayyyy too many secret society romances. But this book exceeded my expectations in the best way, probably because of the insane banter and tension and the childhood best friends to enemies trope which is the trope I will die on a hill for. This is the dark romance and angst girl speaking but there literally is no trope I love more than two traumatised children who became each others “everything” then separated and hate each other, only when they’re forced back into proximity with each other they can’t stop themselves from falling back in love. This book mastered that trope, and the secret society and forbidden romance part truly added to the experience. It is quite dark, with lots of dub/noncon and on page SA so please read the trigger warnings. I will also comment that the story telling is very intense and the way Killian feels for Lexi can be very dramatised, playing very much into the bad boy x good girl themes (with stuff like “oh the black ink in my heart goes away with her here”) and I’m aware it’s not everyone cup of tea, but I liked it. There were some great plot twists and was in general very fast paced and intense throughout. The romance and development of them falling back in love with each other took the main focus and I’m definitely not complaining because their chemistry is off the charts. I will say I cried multiple times while reading so have tissues prepared. The smut obviously was dark and spicy, just the way I like it and was a good amount, and didn’t take away from the plot. I really enjoyed this book and give it a 4.5/5

Heartless Lord by Sienna Cross & Ember St. Vincent, the first in a new series Lords of Stonewall University, is an enemies to lovers, second chance, dark mafia university romance. Lexi Vega had her heart broken by Killian Davenport four years previously. Now she has got scholarship to Stonewall University and they are thrown back into each other’s world.

The events from four years ago left huge scars on both Lexi and Killian. Killian believes Lexi lied to him to stop him from leaving her. The reality couldn’t be further from what Killian believes. But time has moved on and now Killian is determined to make Lexi pay for her betrayal, whilst Lexi, determined to put her past trauma behind her, just wants to finish her studies and become a doctor.

Lexi and Killian together is a raging inferno just waiting to ignite. Killian’s rage at Lexi masks that he’s obsessed with her because she’s the one person, he never stopped wanting, and the one person he believes he can’t have. When danger comes knocking on Lexi’s door Killian loses his mind, because no one touches what he considers his.

Lexi and Killians journey is action packed with twists and turns on almost every page. The tension between them laced with history, dripping with unresolved desire. Killian pushes Lexi away with cruelty, Lexi pushes back with fire. The hatred is a lie; the desire is not. This is a second chance romance with real emotional depth; Killian is the perfect beautiful devil MMC and Lexi the heroine with backbone and fire. One where obsession that turns into devotion and danger that forces the truth out. I cannot wait to read more of this series.

Heartless Lord was dark, addictive, and impossible to put down. Set in a university where the real rules aren’t written in any handbook but hidden beneath secret societies, blood oaths, and dangerous power games, this story pulled me in from the very first page and never let go.

Killian Davenport is the kind of character who commands attention the moment he appears. Feared by everyone at Stonewall University, he is beautiful, ruthless, and completely capable of destroying anything in his path. And for Lexi, that’s exactly what he did when he broke her heart and walked away. So when fate throws them back into each other’s lives, their relationship becomes a perfect storm of resentment, attraction, unresolved feelings, and undeniable chemistry.

The chemistry was intense, but what I loved most was how their history made every scene hit harder. You could feel the pain, the longing, and the emotions simmering underneath everything they said and did.The secret society elements, the mysteries, the hidden dangers, and the dark atmosphere created such an immersive reading experience. There were moments that genuinely left me feeling disturbed and disgusted, especially when it came to the villains and the horrifying secrets surrounding the society.

As much as I loved the story, the reason this wasn’t a full five-star read for me was Killian himself. I absolutely adored him, but after everything he said to Lexi, the way he treated her, and how quickly he chose not to believe her, I desperately wanted more groveling. I needed him to work harder to earn her forgiveness and fully make up for the hurt he caused.

“Heartless Lord” is a gripping start to the Lords of Stonewall University series, and Killian and Lexi’s story pulled me in from the very first chapter.

Killian and Lexi grew up as inseparable best friends, bonded by poverty and a childhood marked by trauma. One devastating event tears them apart, sending them down different paths—until fate brings them back together at the elite and mysterious Stonewall University.

Lexi arrives on a hard‑earned scholarship, excited to begin her premed journey. But instead of the fresh start she hoped for, she finds herself surrounded by secrets, danger, and a darkness she never expected.

Killian attends Stonewall through his stepfather’s secret‑society connections. After surviving a painful childhood, he believes joining a wealthy family will finally give him and his mother stability. Instead, he discovers that the people he now lives with are hiding deadly secrets—ones that threaten his future and his life.

When Killian and Lexi reunite on campus, old feelings resurface, but so do the wounds of their past. And when Lexi witnesses a crime tied to the secret society, Killian’s protective instincts ignite instantly. Despite everything, he will do anything to keep her safe.

I originally read their story on Kindle Vella and loved it so much that I reread it as an ARC. Even though it’s a dark romance, their connection is incredibly sweet and heartfelt.

If you enjoy dark academia vibes, secret societies, college romance, friends‑to‑enemies‑to‑lovers tension, and strong “touch her and die” energy, this book is definitely worth reading.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fearless Lord was the perfect mix of dark romance, obsession, and the kind of protective hero who takes “touch her and die” from a warning to a full-blown promise.

Lexi has spent years carrying the weight of her truth while the people closest to her refused to believe what she endured, including the person she trusted most. Watching those secrets slowly unravel and seeing everyone realize that her story was real made this book impossible to put down. Sometimes time and distance have a way of exposing the truth, and this story delivered that beautifully.

Killian is the definition of a morally gray hero. Beneath his cold exterior and ruthless reputation is a man willing to do anything for the people he loves, especially his mother. But appearances can be deceiving, and there was so much more to him than what was visible on the surface. His devotion to Lexi was fierce, possessive, and unwavering, even when neither of them made it easy.

What I loved most was watching two guarded hearts find warmth in each other. Their journey wasn’t soft or simple, but it was emotional, intense, and completely captivating. The chemistry, the tension, and the twists kept me turning pages long into the night.

If you love dark romance with a possessive hero, hidden truths, emotional healing, and a hero who would burn the world down for his girl, Fearless Lord deserves a spot on your TBR. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series! 🖤🐍👑📚

Tropes- bestfriends to enemies to lovers, secret society, angst, betrayal, dark college romance, found family, rich boy x poor girl

This book hit my email just when I needed it, the emotions, angst, darkness, and twists that are in this book was just amazing I couldn’t put my kindle down cause I was so invested in this story and see how everything was gonna play out. Lexi and Killian love is messy, real, and deals with regret on how their friendship ended years ago and now they’re both at the same college

Lexi my beautiful girl, I love her so much. My heart broke for her reading the prologue cause I get her on a deep level and will defend her forever. Lexi is a transfer student on a scholarship to a very prestigious university who’s studying pre-med. Lexi is literally just amazing and I loved seeing her friendship with Cordi and how they clicked right away.

Lexi and Killian are amazing and I’m so glad everything got cleared up about what really happened I do wish he believed her from the beginning but I understand that he finally found a father figure that wasn’t like his dad. This book had me at the edge of seat throughout the whole book cause there was so many things happening and turns. I did love the found family aspect in this book and can’t wait for more of this series

Killian is a morally gray man and very obsessive. Did I want to shake some sense into him basically the whole book? Yes but also understood him plus when it really came down not the truth he was willing to do anything for Lexi. He just made me love him so bad, his backstory is honestly sad and my heart broke for him. Plus I loved how his friends had his back in the end

The chemistry with these two is amazing and belong together. All the dynamics in this book made the book even more better. This book just pulled me in like no other. I can’t wait for the next book I hope my opinion change on Lorelei cause I just know there’s more to her story

Thank You So Much for giving me this incredible arc !💐🖤

Sienna Cross and Ember St. Vincent could not have started their Lords of Stonewall University series any stronger than with Heartless Lord. As a huge lover of dark college romance, this one had me completely hooked from the very first page and refusing to put it down.

Secret societies, betrayal, buried secrets and a past that refuses to stay buried — this story delivers everything you want from a dark romance and more. Once best friends, now torn apart by lies and heartbreak, Killian Davenport and Lexi are forced back into each other’s orbit at Stonewall University, where danger seeps through every hallway and power rules everything.

Killian is now one of the most feared and powerful men at Stonewall, but the last thing he expected was to come face to face with Lexi again — the girl who once meant everything to him. For Lexi, avoiding Killian becomes impossible, especially when the chemistry between them is still explosive. The tension crackles with every encounter, emotions run high, and as secrets begin to unravel, it becomes clear their connection is far from over.

But with darkness closing in, betrayal lurking around every corner and danger threatening to consume them both, the question becomes whether love can survive in a world built on secrets and power.

A gripping, emotional and addictive dark romance that pulls you deep into the shadows of Stonewall University and refuses to let go. An absolute must-read for dark romance lovers.
