Not yet published
Expected 8 Oct 26
"I'm not a monster, but I'll be one for her."
Asher and Elijah Astar—the Merciless Twins of Astar Elite College.

I’m the social pariah—the freak that no one talks to or hangs out with. The others learned their lesson and never speak to me because terrible things will happen to them.
The Merciless Twins made it clear that I’m off-limits.
They’ve made it their mission to make me suffer, but I didn’t know it was them until it was too late.
Nothing is too low for them. Not even taking a bet to sleep with me.
They love playing cruel games that mess with not only my head, but also my heart.
I thought I knew misery, but falling in love with my stepbrothers opened a new world of pain.
And they won’t stop until I’m crushed beneath their shoes.

First of all... thank you Willow for this Arc. This was GOOOD. I usually am not a fan of bully romance, HOWEVER, this was done perfectly. Insert *chef's kiss*. From the beginning poor Eden is just trying to live her life. She cares about birds, animals, and being herself but her classmates literally never let her breathe and are constantly attacking her. Her stepbrothers, Elijah and Asher are the reason for this. They are upset that their father married her mother and are withholding their inheritance, thinking she is the cause. When Elijah is proposed with a bet to *have sex with her* he jumps at the opportunity to ruin her. Asher, however, actually wants Eden, but he goes along with his brother's plan anyway. Overall, once I started this, I couldn't stop. It was addicting. The push, the pull, the tenacity of Eden, I loved it all. She deserved better than what they put her through, but there is an HEA!

Definitely pick this one up...

Hopefully with that ending there will be another book with a side character. 😉

ARC REVIEW

Just remember SHARING IS CARING!!

I mean what can I say other than HOLY SHIT BALLS THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD!
I don’t even think I got to highlight all my favorite parts from how quickly I devoured this book!

Eden, my girl, my heart hurt for her so much.  I hated how she got the shit end of the stick and nobody was there for her. She felt she couldn’t have anyone because she knew they’d be hurt, and yeah, I understand the boys (mainly Asher, let’s be so real) didn’t want anyone to be close with his girl, especially if he couldn’t be as close as he wanted…. Elijah the fuckwit was just mean…..in the beginning duh we love him now (but I think I’m biased towards Asher). I have such a love-hate relationship with the dare concept, but big BUT it was written so well that it won me over! Elijah didn’t stand a chance I knew he’d melt for Eden just like I did instantly. AND SHE GOT THE BAT PLUSHIE BITCHES SUCK ON THAT!

Some of my favorite quotes

“I don’t like people.” I glance at him. “But I especially don’t like men.”

“He’s teasing me, and I hate admitting it, but I love it.”

“I like the sound of my name on your tongue. So don’t cheat me out of hearing every syllable.”

“I hate that once upon a time I worried about what they thought of me.
Now look at me. Hating men”

“I truly am fifty shades of fucked up, but so are they.”

“We’re not the Merciless Twins for nothing”

“If this is how you sound while you hate us, then I look forward to how you sound when you love us.”

"I'm not a monster, but I'll be one for her."

Merciless reminded me again why Willow McQuerry stays on my automatic read and listen list.

She writes forbidden and taboo like she was born for it, and this book is exactly the kind of wild, messy energy I expect from her.

Eden is the social outcast at Astar Elite College. Everyone avoids her because the Merciless Twins made damn sure they learned their lesson.
Asher and Elijah are her secret bullies and these two do not hold back.

They make it their mission to drag Eden through hell, and they do some seriously messed-up things to her.

I can't tell you what they are because...

Nope.

You're going to have to experience that mess yourself.

I love having a plus-size FMC in the middle of all this chaos.

And then throw in twin stepbrothers and it becomes a whole different level of wrong that somehow feels so right.
It's like extra icing on the cake.

Maybe not icing... but you get what I'm saying.

The twins are cruel, obsessive and completely unhinged when it comes to Eden.
They push her. Break her. Pull her close.

It's twisted.

It's messy.

And somehow...

I was here for it.

Then we get that shift from obsession to devotion.

Oh, I see you, Willow.

I always thought I would hate bully romances before I really started reading them.

Turns out?

I was very wrong.

Because Willow knows exactly how to make me look at two completely unhinged men and think...
Yep. These are my people now.

Merciless is dark, taboo, messy and addictive.

If Willow McQuerry writes it?

I'm reading it.

And this one hit exactly the way I wanted it to.

Read it. Listen to it. Come scream with me afterward. 💜

Let me just start off by saying, anything Willow McQuerry writes, I’m reading. PERIOD.

The Merciless Twins had me hook, line, and sinker. I immediately fell in love with Elijah and Asher, and then we have their stepsister, Eden.
I knew from the beginning that there were A LOT of feelings going on beneath the surface, but I honestly didn’t see exactly where everything was headed and I think that’s one of the things I love most about Willow’s writing. She has a way of bringing these characters to life, making you think you know where the story is going, and then surprising you in the end.
And this isn’t your typical step-sibling bully romance. It’s different in a way that completely worked for me, and I LOVED it.
Now I’m just sitting here wondering what Willow is going to do with some of the other characters from this story because I NEED MORE. She definitely left me wanting more, and I seriously cannot wait to see what she brings us next!

Omg I ate this book the fuck up! Willow McQuerry, the author you areeeee 😫🙌🏼
The Merciless twins are on another level of depraved but they are also fucking delicious & they had me SAT immediately.
These men have a way with their fucked up words!
The taboo and forbidden aspect of this book made it all the more exciting, I literally couldn’t put this down and I fucking LOVEDDDDDD that this was a bully romance.
Bonus points for those spicy scenes 👀
I’m putting Willow on auto buy from this point onwards because I need more of her writing ASAP! Give me all the fucked up, morally black, degradation, taboo, filth there is.

I absolutely devoured this book! The forbidden love, the spice, the tension… I ate it all up.

As a taboo romance, this one was honestly such a fun read. I loved getting all three POVs and being able to experience the lust and tension from each side. The chemistry was SO good, and the tension was delicious.

I also really enjoyed the mystery and secrecy woven into the story. It added another layer on top of all the spice and kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next.

Well written, spicy, forbidden, and just so much fun to read. I really enjoyed this one! ❤️‍🔥

Oh man, this book made me feel so many things😅🤣😩It was so fucking good and I need so much more🥵😅 I think Asher and Elijah take the cake for my favourite twin MMCs😮‍💨🤌🏻 I will definitely be thinking about this book for a while…

Absolutely ate up the bully trope in this book and the degradation😮‍💨 Plenty of forbiddeness in this book (which might not be for everyone so keep that in mind before reading). The MMCs are pretty ruthless and Eden really goes through it cause of them but I was really glad with their HEA.

This was a good step-sibling why choose. There was a lot of push and pull at first, specifically with Eden pushing them away and Elijah and Asher refusing to allow her to go anywhere. As secrets unfold and come to light it puts a strain on their relationships, but as the guys fight to fix their wrongs we're just along for the ride. There's so many people in this book I want to know the story of, so I can't wait to dive further into this shared world too and hopefully find them there!

ARC Review from author and PA! 🖤

Willow McQuerry is literally the taboo queen and nobody can tell me otherwise!

I went into Merciless expecting dark, complicated characters, but I was absolutely NOT prepared for how invested I would become in these three. They each bring something completely different to the story, and together? Pure chaos, tension, obsession, and emotional destruction.

Eden completely stole my heart. She’s been through so much, yet there’s this strength underneath everything she’s endured that made me root for her harder with every chapter. She isn’t helpless, she isn’t perfect, and she certainly isn’t going to quietly accept the hand she’s been dealt. I loved that about her.

And did Asher just become my #1 book boyfriend?!
I genuinely don’t know how I’m supposed to move on from this man. His intensity, his obsession, his possessiveness, and the way he watches Eden had me completely captivated. There is something so deliciously unsettling about Asher, and somehow that only made me want MORE. Every time he appeared, I was locked in. I feared him, questioned him, obsessed over him, and, unfortunately for my sanity, fell completely in love with him.

And Elijah brings an entirely different kind of chaos to the equation. His personality, his relationship with Eden, and the tension he brings to the story made him impossible to ignore. He adds another layer to an already complicated dynamic, and I loved watching the three of them navigate everything thrown their way.

But honestly, it’s the three of them together that makes this story hit so hard.
Eden, Asher, and Elijah are messy, complicated, intense, and absolutely addictive. Their relationships are filled with tension, secrets, obsession, and emotions that refuse to stay neatly contained. I never knew who I should trust, who I should be yelling at, or which character was going to make me lose my mind next.

Willow McQuerry continues to just offer me delicious stories on a silver platter and I will forever gobble them UP!

This is my first Willow book, and it will absolutely NOT be my last. I haven't been this hooked or this engrossed in a book in a MINUTE. Not to say I haven't loved other books I've read recently, but I literally was picking this up every chance I could get. Dinner was cooking? Picked it up. Brushing my teeth? Reading. Playing with my cats? Reading.

I love me a why choose, but it wasn't just any old plain old why choose. NOOO, it was a bully, TWIN BROTHER why choose with their STEPSISTER WHY CHOOSE. AND SHE'S PLUS SIZED. I love that. I ate it up. It was so delicious.

Asher is so broody and quiet, hence all the haunting references, while Elijah is more the playboy that everyone knows and wants. But both brothers are very well known, and have a reputation. They're not the Merciless Twins for no reason, let me tell you that much. They're also EXACTLY the same. Down to the tattoos. Which is so, so fun. Because when our girl thinks she has a certain brother down between her thighs, she may very well be thinking of the wrong one. Also Elijah has glasses that he wears sometimes, and let me tell you. I am WEAK for a man in glasses with tattoos.

And Eden? Ugh, the sweetest little empath that ever lived. She's just there, being relentlessly bullied, trying to save the animals and the birds that are being unalived on campus as a threat to her, while she's just trying to get by, spend time with her one friend in the arcade, to win that damn bat, and living in her broom closet of a dorm with her snake. I just love her so so much because as much as she's neglected and bullied she's still SO sweet, and after everything she walks away winning at life. Without giving away too much

I think this might be one of my top reads of the year, honestly.

“What lies in the dark always comes into the light.”

I LOVED this book. Read it in one day and didn't put it down until I was finished. It was dark, twisted and delicious! The spice was definitely on point. It was unhinged in the absolute best way.

(Going to be careful and not mention anything that is not mentioned in the blurb.)

Elijah, Eden and Asher are step siblings and attend the same college. Eden is the outcast, the freak that no one wants anything to do with. Elijah and Asher basically run the school and are know as "The Merciless Twins." Everyone pretty much wants to empress Elijah. Elijah is the cruelest of the two and known as the playboy of Astar Elite University. Asher is the quieter of the two and keeps to himself. But... they definitely both live up to their nickname when Elijah makes a bet with his friend that he can convince Eden to sleep with him. That bet brings up a whole lot of other things that is wild. This book had me making my own predictions about certain things happening and I love when a book does that. If you love Willow's books or you've been wondering if you want to read it, do yourself a favor and do it! Thank you for the opportunity to read this. I enjoyed it so much! 🖤

"Merciless" was sent to me as an ARC.

With this book I'm not sure how to explain myself in a way that will not sound rude. I just seem to have hit that moment when a book is definitely not for me.

The characters are a bit bland except Asher who is the only one that makes sense to me. I know this is high school story but for 54% in I was like; am I gonna finish this? It's mostly about bullying and Eden's weird back and forth of what she should do and then does the opposite and.. I was confused.

I wish I got a little bit more backstory of how their hate grew. Like "why was I thrown in to this part of the story?", a little more personal approach and depths. I wanted to get to know them more, understand more but I was mostly left with nothing. It's pretty much just a scratch on the surface and some things just don't make sense to me.

I think I lack something that I recognize myself in. And I can't find it. I kept going, looking for my connection but unfortunately I did not find any.

When I finally thought that "ok now we're getting there" the book was over. And the story just took a weird and awkward turn and then it was over. The end. Everything suddenly felt very rushed.

Willow writes well and the spice is very spicy, but in the end this was not my thing.

I loved loved loved the twins. I had such a good time reading this book!

Are they assholes, one more than the other? Absolutely. Are they hot tho? Absofuckinglutely.

I never thought a blue raspberry sucker would be something that I could get down with but Asher has me thinking otherwise 🤣🤣

Elijah and Asher both have their sights on their stepsister Eden, but for different reasons.

I love that no matter what their original plan was that they couldn’t help but fall in love with her. She was theirs. She was protected. She was loved.

Firstly, Holly I love you.
Right where do I even start? I’ve been obsessed with this book from the very beginning. Stalking willows insta feed for more info on this book.
The art for this book is stunning. Slutty little glasses? Plus size FMC? TATTOOS? I WANT MORE!!!!

Okay so let’s talk about this.
FUCK ME SIDE WAYS AND CALL ME PRINCESS.
The bullying from the MMCs to the FMC had me HOOKED. The step sibling trope pulled me by my hair and told me to read.
I felt sorry for Eden at first but then as I got further in I was like bitch has her step brothers YEARNING….
All three POVs made this such an easy read. Getting each perspective of the characters pulled me in more.
The plot, the spice. This was done to perfection.
Lavender is such a sweet name for a pet. I’m loving Rome and hoping he gets his own story!

Where do I begin? I love a taboo/forbidden romance book. My favorite being step siblings, so this was right up my alley. And this one had double trouble, twins. A two for one. Plus it’s bully sign me all the way up!!! I enjoyed this book so much. I was giggling like a little school girl at times, I was ready to throw hands and flabbergasted. Asher and Elijah are both pieces of work. They truly are merciless. Eden she is my girl. Now I know you’re not supposed to pick favorites but Asher is my main man. The amount of times I had to go back and reread something was outrageous. I honestly could not believe I read what I read. I to do a double take, because I know I didn’t read what I thought I just read. Willow’s writing is chef’s kiss. It just draws you in. The plot was plotting and the spice was spicing. There was one particular spicy scene that had me stuck I was like o my damn. The twins are very much that’s mine don’t touch her. My girl Eden was put through the wringer and the mattress. I had time reading this book, I didn’t want it to end. It will be added to collection. Fingers crossed there are some additional books because there are some people I need to know more about!

I've been obsessed with Willow's book since I've read Satan's Priest and it leave a deep scratch to my soul so when I've received the message that I'm on her ARC readers, I'm FREAKING OUT! NGL 🤣☝🏻

Soooo ladies and gentlemen,
take your sit AND hear me out ✋🏻

I've read and seen so many kinds of step-sibling taboo dark romance tropes, but this one??? Fucking. Delicious. I ATE the twins and leave NO crumbsss MMMHHHH YUMMYYYYY

At first, I thought this was just gonna be another smutty dark romance read for me, nothing special. But the way the author started with drama, developed the tension, the banter, and even the conflicts between every single fucking sibling and people around 'em??? It's a whole five-star-worthy read!

This book started with fun, hateful, witty banter, only to have you gasping and leave your heart racing. This type of dark romance will have you giggling, biting your lower lip, and getting wet. Trust me 🤭

Is it a YES from me?
ABSOLUTELY.
Such a fun, easy, and spicy ride!❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Willow has absolutely perfected another must read, I swear she never fails to amaze me with her dark, forbidden and taboo relationships. They’re always such an amazing read.
One thing about Willow McQuerry, if she writes it, I’m reading it.

This is a completely unhinged bully romance, the outcome is pure perfection. The lust, want, and need that they have is absolutely everything.

Eden is just the socially outcasted stepsister, she’s bullied by her peers nonstop. The twins, Asher and Elijah ensures that they are her personal devils, they cause complete chaos and mayhem in her life. Secretly bullying her by having everyone torment her.

The twins are completely unhinged and do not hold back when it comes to Eden Astar, she is at their mercy and they are willing to do anything to show her just how unhinged they truly are.

That ending though… I just know there HAS to be more, you CANNOT leave us hanging like that!

When I say this was a SPICY read, I mean it. I ate it the hell up, it was sooo so good. Completely forbidden, f*cked up, unhinged, and filthy!

First and foremost; thank you so much for letting me be a ARC reader! You popped my first ARC read cherry 😏🍒 So thank you Willow!

Everyone has been raving for the Astar Twins and when I tell you; I GET ITTT

Whats worse than one bullying stepbrother? How about 2? Who also swap places when.. Ya know ;)
The swap scene that made me giggle and kick my feet the most was… the blindfold scene IYKYK

Also, Katie & Derrick, you’re bitches. >:( and ain’t got no room to talk; that twist had me cackling.

Once again, Willow has written another book that I’ll be 100% getting a shelf trophy of.

ARC READ THANK YOU WILLOW!!!!

Pfft where do I start? I love this book. 5/5, ate and left NO crumbs.

Did I screech and make inhuman noises while reading this? Absolutely. Was it out of frustration? You bet. Was the frustration worth it? HARD yes.

I give this book 5/5. While I do wish there had more emotional talking/sharing the books was phenomenal. The characters were amazing. They showed depth and you see growth from some (I don’t think others needed it). The story is fairly easy to follow, there are a few questions I have but that would spoil it 🤭

I have been reading all the dark star series books and they’re all so good. This one does stand out, it’s taboo and it contains more taboo within the story but it is written perfectly. I was sucked into this book and did not want to put it down. If you’re looking to dip your toes into dark and taboo I would recommend this! If you already like dark and taboo then I would recommend this! It was a masterpiece.

🖤 The Merciless Twins: Asher & Elijah 🖤
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and honestly… I have QUESTIONS.
First of all, Asher? Yeah. That’s my guy. His nocrap attitude had me SWOONING. The man says what he means, does what he wants, and somehow makes being completely unhinged look attractive.
But then there’s Elijah… and I’m sitting here like, wait… I can have BOTH, right? Because apparently sharing is caring.
And Eden?! GIRL. I am so jealous of you. The whole forbidden love situation had me turning pages like, well… this is definitely a terrible idea… but also… keep going.
Was it messy? Absolutely. Was it questionable? Oh, 100%. Did I enjoy every second of the chaos? Also absolutely.
Forbidden love, morally questionable decisions, two merciless men, and enough tension to make me forget all common sense existed.
Asher has my attention. Elijah has my attention. Eden has the life I apparently want!!!!

I literally devoured this book in two sittings.

This is forbidden and taboo, a bully romance featuring identical twin brothers and their step sister Eden. Willow writes this in a way that “one more chapter” turns into 3am and the pages are still turning.

Eden was a social outcast, who spent her college days saving injured birds and trying to avoid the bullies who seemed to be tormenting her wherever she went.

The situation was only made worse due to the fact that her step brothers Elijah and Asher hated her too. Their father was withholding their inheritance and they wanted someone to blame.

When a bet was placed on Elijah involving in Eden, Elijah and Asher teamed up with a mission to make her life hell! Elijah never loses a bet after all…

This book is taboo, filled with angst, tug of war, jealousy and possessiveness! It is wrong in all the right ways and I loved every second of it.

ARC REVIEW

This is the second book I’ve read by this author and I definitely be picking up more in the future.

I knew when I saw Cruel intentions vibes I had to pick up this book and it did not disappoint.

My heart broke for Eden the twins and their friends put her through so much but still found it in her to remain kind and stand up for herself where she could.

Elijah and Asher have made it their mission to make her life hell, Elijah makes a bet with his friend that he sees as the perfect opportunity to destroy her once and for all.

But the more the more time he spends with her the more he starts to question if he wants to go through with it after all but will it already be too late?

This was an easy five stars and I will definitely be rereading this again soon. If you like why choose, bully romance I highly recommend picking it this book up but please check the TWs before reading

Willow McQuerry is the queen of Taboo/Forbidden romance!

Part of the Dark Star series, Merciless is an MFM, why choose, step-brothers, bully romance, with TWINS!

Yes please!

Eden Astar is a social outcast, her life at Astar Elite College is hell thanks to the Merciless Twins, Elijah and Asher Astar, kings of the college and Eden’s step-brothers. They’ll stop at nothing to torment her, including making a bet to sleep with her in 7 days.

I love anything Willow writes, so I knew this was going to be good… Merciless is a bully romance done right, both of the twins are awful to Eden. This book is dark, it’s full of dub-con/non-con, mental health issues and even some taboo side character action so won’t be for everyone but despite all the nastiness there is a HEA and I for one ate this book up.

Oh I absolutely devoured this. I couldn't put it down.
I friggin love that they are twins, but not just any twins they are Eden's stepbrothers!
It starts off where we see Eden who seems a little different then the rest. She loves her birds. Then we see the bullying and of course one of the Merciless Twins who stands with them.
There are SO many twists and turns and I LOVED the fact that through the book it was a constant guess who of which twin did what because, there are some kinky scenes, not only with both twins but also involving a LOLLYPOP!;)
Asher, oh i love him. He was definitely my favourite and he had pined over Eden since they first met. Him at that lollypop were just adorable!
There was grovelling, masks, and so much smut you wont know which way is up and which way is down.
Brilliant ending to a fantastic book.

ARC review

this book had all the premises to be one of the best reads of the year but it turned out to be a sloppy and messy attempt to write a dark romance.

the relationship between the characters (especially elijah and eden) develops in a sudden, without exact reasons (especially considering he’s the one blackmailing, sa’ing and bullying her); eden herself is a total pain in the ass, whining ALSO during sex and not for the good reasons.

from a dark romance with a huge sexual component i definitely do not expect for the sex between the mcs to happen after the 70% of the book!
result is: while the remaining 30% is a total rush and the things are resolved not in a coherent and logical way, the initial 70% is slow and repetitive.

the only star i give it is because the spicy scenes are very well written, but i expected a lot more.
