Roller Ghoster

I’ve seen a lot of ghosts in my time. Murder victims. The unjustly dead. One elderly woman who refused to accept she’d passed on because she still had bridge night on Thursdays.

What I have never seen before is a ghost who isn’t dead yet.

Blonde ponytail. Pale pink coat. Plush rabbit dangling from her hand. She stood across the street outside the pharmacy, translucent and unmistakably dead.

Ten minutes later, she was solid. Very much alive. Handing me paper towels and introducing herself as Claire.

By that evening, she was dead.

As a private investigator — and Firefly Bay’s unofficial ghost whisperer — I’m used to murder victims finding me after the fact. Not before.

At first, I tell myself I imagined it. Fatigue. Too much caffeine. A temporary glitch in whatever cosmic filing system runs the afterlife. But then it happens again. And again.

Now I’m seeing pre-ghosts — people who haven’t died yet but somehow already have. Which means someone isn’t just killing… they’re planning.

With my ghostly best friend digging for answers, Thor protesting his dinner portions, Bandit stealing something she absolutely does not need, and my hot husband, Detective Kade Galloway, reminding me (repeatedly) that suspicion is not evidence, I’m racing a clock I can’t see.

If I can identify the victims before they die…

Maybe I can stop the next murder.

Roller Ghoster is the eleventh book in the Ghost Detective paranormal cozy mystery series, featuring a ghostly best friend, a talking cat, small-town secrets, and a case that turns my ability on its head.

This is a series I hope never ends. The characters are so unique and quite unlike anything I have read before. There is mystery, but what catches you is the humor throughout the stories. I love Audrey's awkwardness, Kade's steady calm and the commentary from Thor and Bandit. Then there is Ben, still her best friend, even in the afterlife, who is always there for her. This is not to be missed. Another great read Ms. Hinchey!

I think this is the best book in the series…at least so far. Audrey has her hands full investigating multiple murders, where she always seems to be one step behind the culprit. This fast paced mystery kept me on the edge of my seat and up past my bedtime. Highly recommended! I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next in the series. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a voluntary, unbiased review.

Roller Ghoster was fun. No matter how long in between books you jump right back in as if there’s been no time at all into the life of Audrey, her husband detective Kate Galloway, and and her talking pets Thor and Bandit. I love that her friend, ghost Ben, is still around and helping her out.
This time Audrey sees the ghosts before they die, alerting her to the fact that something is going down. Unlike the others in the series, there is no interaction with the ghosts in this book, but they still play a big role.

Like usual, Audrey managed to get herself into some pretty challenging situations and it’s fun to see how she gets out of it.

Whilst it is book 11 in the series, it could be read as a standalone, but if you haven’t read any I’d recommend starting up with book one because they’re all great fun.
Oh and that ending, bring on book 12.

Something has changed for Audrey. She’s been able to see ghosts for quite a while, usually when they’ve been victims of murder. Now, however, she’s seeing them before they die, and they’re all carrying a stuffed pink rabbit. Their demises all seem to be the result of common accidents. But are they? They all seem to have one thing in common. Audrey, with the help of her ghostly best friend, will dig in and figure it out.

I loved this story. This series gets better with each new addition. Audrey is becoming a skilled private detective, even if her methods aren’t always ones used by other PIs. What’s important is that she always figures it out in the end.

Speaking of the end, Audrey has a big surprise for readers at the end of this book. I’ll admit that I guessed what was happening early on, but it was still a nice twist. It will be interesting to see how it will affect her future. I’ll also say that Audrey’s right, Kade, her husband, truly is the best. He’s always there for her, calm and supportive, no matter how many unusual situations Audrey winds up in.

This book included Seb, Audrey and Kade’s next door neighbor. And Thor and Bandit added humor and devotion to the story, while retaining their naughtiness and snarkiness. I can’t leave out sister-in-law Amanda, who brought her superiority to the story, but in a loving way.

This was a delight to read. I highly recommend it. It can be read as a standalone, but I think reading the series from the beginning offers a depth to understanding the relationships of the characters.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author. I thank her for her generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.

The 11th Book in the Ghost Detective Paranormal series hooked me from the beginning and I couldn't put it down. In this book, Audrey who is used to seeing ghosts after they have died seems to be seeing people just before they die and become ghosts. And each of the victims seem to be holding pink stuffed rabbits like the one from the fair in town. What is going on? Is she hallucinating? No, because who she sees, is soon deceased. With the help of her Ghost friend, Ben and with some help from her Detective Kade Galloway who listens and keeps her grounded in her investigation, she dives into the case, putting herself in grave danger. Can Audrey solve this one and find a murderer who makes the murders look like accidents or will she be the next to have an "accident"? This book has you turning pages and guessing until the end. Not only do I highly recommend this book but I highly recommend the entire series. I can't wait for more. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Way to really kept me intrigued! It wasn't just her clumsiness that was unsettling to Audrey; now her mind seemed to be playing tricks on her. I didn't expect that twist with Audrey, and I found it very interesting how things were unfolding with so much mystery and the suspense building. In a big twist, now there was more to it than ghosts asking for help, and even I was getting worried about what might happen. I really liked how Kade handled the situation. A man like that is exactly what you need when things get dark and dangerous. As always, Thor and Bandit added humor to the story with their witty comments and dramatic flair. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, taking my time, following Audrey's thought process and how things, although with great difficulty and danger, were falling into place. Naturally, after the emotions of the final chapter, I'm eagerly awaiting the next story.

This is new. Audrey (Fitz) Fitzgerald-Calloway PI, and a woman who can see and speak with ghosts is now seeing ghosts before the person has died. What the heck is going on? These pre-ghost sightings are freaking Audrey out. With the help of her ghost best friend, Ben, she is attempting to find out why she is seeing the ghosts of people before they are dead. I adore these magical mysteries with klutzy, but charming and very good at her job, Fitz. I love her hunky husband, Detective Kade Calloway, cute but demanding pets, talkative, chubby and perpetually on a diet cat, Thor and mischievous also talkative racoon, Bandit. These books are entertaining and so much fun. A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.

☆ROLLER GHOSTER ☆ JANE HINCHEY ☆ Book# 11: Ghost Detective ☆

THIS BOOK IS NO BUNNY!

Jane Hinchey takes us on the wildest 'Tilt-A-Whirl ride in book 11!
There's up's, down's & sneaky sideways manoeuvres that you just don't see coming that'll leave your head dizzy like you've been on the craziest 'ROLLER GHOSTER!

Murder, Mystery, Mayhem, Madness, Mass Spectrals & a touch of spook-style Magic. Oh and a whole lotta death to go round & round like a Ferris Wheel! There's a death here, a death there, honestly, there's a death everywhere!
And very 'Bad Bunnies!'

I RATE ROLLER GHOSTER 5☆Out 5☆!

I read both the ARC & bought an e-book copy of this book, and this is my fair, honest, and impartial review as always.

Audrey starts seeing pre-ghosts, ghosts that are appearing before the person is dead. They all have one thing in common, they are carrying pink stuffed rabbits. This is a new thing for Audrey and she's having a hard time with it. When people start having fatal "accidents", Audrey pushes for further investigation. There is lots of Audrey chaos but she and Ben won't stop investigating. Good mystery and fun characters. My favorite is Audrey's racoon, Bandit, who she can understand.

This is another good mystery with a twist from Audrey and her cohorts. I love the interactions with her pets and her best friend Ben ,who she works with after inheriting his PI company. The seasoned reader can tell there is something different with Audrey and her new ability seems to be very disturbing. She gets the job done and she and her husband deal with their new-ish status as newlyweds. A very cute and entertaining book in this series. I can't wait to see the next in series.

Audrey is seeing ghosts, but they are not like the usual ghosts she meets. Some of these aren't even dead. Audrey is very off balance in this book but it comes together so well. The characters are what draws you in every time and of course the pets! Audrey is growing up but keeping all her personality along the way. This was an excellent read!

This is the eleventh book in the Ghost Detective series. Audrey is used to seeing ghosts, but now she’s seeing them before they are dead. She has multiple cases to solve and she’s in panic mode. As usual Thor and Bandit are sweet and hilarious. Kade is awesome and so supportive. There’s a mystery to solve. Will she figure it out or will she be the next victim? I love this series.

Another great story in one of my favorite whimsical paranormal series. The plots are good, but the characters are amazing and will make you laugh out loud at their antics, especially Bandit and Thor the 2 “foodie sidekicks”. Humorous and enjoyable!
