Becca's senior year of high school is approaching and she's tired of being the dorky best friend. Determined to reinvent herself with help from Bayleigh, she plans to spend the summer breaking out of her shell. When Bayleigh gets grounded and sent away for three months, Becca's plans come crashing down before they've even started.
Now Becca is alone and can't even talk to Bayleigh on the phone. Not wanting to miss out on the summer before senior year, she takes a job at the local indoor BMX track. The job is fun, her boss is laid back, and the place is packed with hot guys. One of them just might have a crush on her. This may be a summer without her best friend, but it doesn't mean she'll have to spend the summer alone.
Amy Sparling is the USA Today Bestselling author of books with swoony first loves and heartwarming endings. She lives on the coast of Texas with her family, her spoiled rotten pets, and a huge pile of books.
By day, she works as a librarian, and by night you can find her curled up with a book–either one she’s reading or one she’s writing.
Amy Sparling is the pen name of author Cheyanne Young, but she’ll answer to either name!
This was a Kindle read:) . It was such a nice and easy book. I just needed something to help me relax and this was such a good fit!! The story was so wholesome and the characters too!! But I really wanted a bit more romance cause I felt like it had potential in that area. . This is for anyone who would like a break and an easy read:) . Rating: 3⭐️/5⭐️
A quick, cute read. A bit more swearing than what I'd like and several kisses at the end, though not too descriptive. Several grammatical errors here and there but nothing so bad that it's distracting. Overall, good, just not great :)
I'm currently reading the box set but wanted to make sure I left a review for each individual short story as well.
Summer Alone is a fast paced short story and quick read. I loved the characters, they seem very realistic which makes them even more likeable. The main character, Becca, is trying her best to break out of the shadow of her more popular friend, yet she managed to stay true to herself.
I enjoyed reading all four of the novellas for Becca and Park's story. I read all of them in a day and I didn't need to be attached to my Kindle to do it so they weren't very long but they still felt full. There was enough character and story development to make me care about what happened. I was disappointed at the end of the last one but only because I wanted to know more about Becca and Park, their story certainly doesn't feel over yet, but the book summary mentions that this was the last planned book in this spin-off series. I hope the author changes her mind.
This book was a quick and easy read that is geared toward teenagers and young adults. I enjoyed the story, however the way the young thinks about herself makes me sad. I see all kinds of young people who are so down on themselves.
I will start the next book in the series tomorrow and we will see how well they go together. I did enjoy the book and recommend it to my friends but not to my niece. I am not fond of the swear words that pepper this book.
I really liked Becca as a character because she's the super shy best friend of the cool girl but when she's left alone for an entire summer she begins to find herself and come out of her shell. I also really liked her personality because she's quite girly girl and loved to get her hair and all that done but when she wanted to she could also hang with the guys.
Bo zaupala vase in postala bolj odločna? Pričakovala sem romanco, dobila sem pa bolj krajšo zgodbo o dozorevanju.
Becca is tired of being a nobody so she decides a makeover is what she needs. What she didn't bargain for was the reaction she got. Without her best friend, the thought processing of Becca is quite interesting. Cute story about a girl trying to overcome her awkwardness.
I really enjoyed this story. It has a good flow and moves at just the right pace. My only issue with the story was near the end of the story suddenly the guy's name is Brendan. Through the rest of the story his name is Braedon. Overall it is a story worth reading.
I love this series it's definitely a young ago book. But I like the way Amy writes her story and there quick reads. Becca and Braeden are very cute together!
Becca is completely adorable! I loved how sweet she stayed the whole way. So dang cute! I'm not sure what order these all come in, but I'm figuring it out.
