This was such a sweet later-in-life romance that took a little time to pull me in, but definitely grew on me.
Remy and Bash were complete opposites, and I really enjoyed the contrast between her guarded, strong personality and his big golden-retriever energy.
Remy was my favorite. Watching her slowly let her walls down and allow herself to lean on the people around her was really lovely. Bash was impossible not to smile at, especially with how openly he cared for her. I also loved having characters in their forties with more life experience behind them.
Once I settled into the story, I found myself really invested in these two. There were plenty of fun moments alongside the more emotional ones, and I loved watching their relationship become something genuine.
A warm, enjoyable romance that ultimately left me smiling.

My Thoughts:
I enjoyed this book so much! Their connection was pure, genuine, and rare. Bash falls so hard for Remy from the very beginning, and the way he spoke to her and cherished her made me absolutely swoon. Also, the whole time I was reading, Bash gave me major Richard Castle energy from the TV show Castle 🤣 that charismatic, slightly chaotic, charmingly persistent vibe! And can we talk about him reading shifter romance AND wearing those slutty little glasses? Swoon levels off the charts! 👓🔥
While this is a lighthearted, deeply swoony love story, it does touch on heavier topics and trauma, so definitely check the content warnings before diving in. The chapter setups were so fun: starting Remy’s chapters with her badass bitch affirmations and Bash’s with his dad jokes added the perfect touch of personality and humor. And we cannot forget Chicane the lop bunny! 🐰
It was also so refreshing to read a mature, later in life romance with leads in their late 40s (Bash is 49 and Remy is 47). The side characters completely stole the show, too! From Remy’s Red Wine Supper Club squad to Bash’s agent Slash, and Bash’s sister Honor with her husband Brinder (who happens to be Remy’s boss!), the supporting cast brought so much warmth. Seeing Remy gain a true inner circle for the first time meant everything… one quick SOS call and the squad comes running!📱❤️

Rollercoaster ride
I very rarely give a 5 star review, since it takes a lot to impress me. This book shot so far over what I was hoping for when I chose to read it. The storyline is great, the characters so realistic, the depth of emotion incredible and enough well written spice to make anyone happy. I laughed, I cried, I believed, and I highly recommend, especially if you're in the latter part of your life journey.
I very rarely give a 5 star review, since it takes a lot to impress me. This book shot so far over what I was hoping for when I chose to read it. The storyline is great, the characters so realistic, the depth of emotion incredible and enough well written spice to make anyone happy. I laughed, I cried, I believed, and I highly recommend, especially if you're in the latter part of your life journey.

This might be my favorite Cathryn Lyons book and a great start to a new series!! Remy and Bash were total opposites but Lyons writes their contrast in such a fun, refreshing, and engaging way. I adored Bash's character and the drive he had to continue to chase his dreams and goal of the ultimate role for himself. Remy’s journey was emotional and it was so great to see her learn to trust people and let love from friends and Bash in. What made this story so special was how all the places where they were opposites actually complimented each other perfectly. There is a great group of secondary characters and I can’t wait to see what we get from the rest of the RWSC!

I absolutely loved Remy and Bash’s story! Cathryn Lyons creates such realistic, layered characters that I couldn’t help but become completely invested in them. I swear, I read this entire book with a goofy smile on my face because these characters are just that good. And the humor woven throughout the story made it even more enjoyable.
Bash is Hollywood’s resident playboy. Who has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. When he needs an image reset to land the role of a lifetime, he meets Arabella Remington, “Remy,” and it’s love at first sight for him. Remy, an orthopedic surgeon, volunteers at a local shelter that is on the brink of closing due to a lack of funding, so Bash proposes a marriage of convenience: he gets the image he needs for this upcoming role, and in turn, Bash will give Remy the money she needs to save the shelter.
And Bash… I absolutely adored him! He is the ultimate cinnamon-roll, golden-retriever hero with so much goodness packed into him. His antics and ADHD brain had me smiling throughout the entire book. But it’s the way he is with Remy that completely stole my heart. He sees her. He gets to know her, understands her, supports her, and is always going above and beyond to make sure she’s okay. He puts her first and somehow knows how to handle every side of her that she allows him to see. So. Swoony. ❤️
Remy’s traumatic childhood has led her to build incredibly high walls around herself, keeping everyone at a distance. Watching Bash slowly knock those walls down while giving her the safety and support she needs was incredibly touching. He never tries to change her. He simply shows her that she doesn’t have to face everything alone.
I love this story so much. The characters, the humor, the heart, the swoon… it all worked so perfectly for me. Cathryn Lyons has created an unforgettable story with characters who completely captured my heart. ❤️

Written in third person, this series starter can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. I adored the way the chapter headings included Remy’s affirmations and Bash’s dad jokes. I need to get some of her affirmations for my daily life. This romance contains mature characters. Bash is 49 and Remy is 47. They have both found professional success and a level of personal success that comes with that. They are both articulate, communicate effectively, and speak their minds when needed. I loved that there are not any juvenile games played between these two- just a honest and fast tumble into a forever kind of love.
Remy’s character is a survivor. As the story unfolds, readers and Bash learn of everything she has been through and conquered to get to where she is. (Sensitive readers should check the CW on the author’s website before reading.) Bash is a little goofy and very handsome and charming. I love that even with all of his success he is human enough to have self-doubt. I absolutely LOVED that he falls so hard and fast for the “magnificent” orthopedic surgeon and adores her in all her fierceness. I appreciated that there was still a lot of heat between Remy in Bash. Some later in life romances water this down, and I loved that they have hotter s3x in their 40’s than they probably had in their 20’s.
Secondary characters form a found family that supports and encourages each of them as they need it. I want to be part of the RWSC. I will bring a lovely Cabernet And a snack.

This one hit really close to home so I was cautious reading it, so definitely check the warnings.
But I was very glad that I did. It was a really lovely read. It took me a little while to get invested, but once I was, I couldn’t put it down.
I loved how badass Remy was. She was so incredibly strong and while she used her hard exterior to protect herself, it was gorgeous to see Sebastian work so hard to break through and show her so much love.
I adore an MMC with golden retriever energy who loves hard and loud, so he fit the bill perfectly.
I’m also a huge fan of a strong girlfriend friendship group in stories (and real life!), so it was fantastic watching someone who’d always isolated to protect themselves, get the love and support she deserved.
I particularly loved that the main characters were all older. It was a refreshing change and something that I don’t see very often. It’s something I sometimes struggle with when reading romances, that so many of the main protagonists are incredibly young, so it was nice to have 40 somethings as the main characters, with real life experience and a different level of knowing who they are.
I’m not normally a fan of third person writing, but I got so carried away in this story that it wasn’t an issue.
This was my first book by their author and I’m more keen to read more.

Liked but did not love this opposites attract romance between Remy, a gifted, commanding orthopedic surgeon, and Bash, an extremely nonserious himbo and Hollywood leading man who’s chasing an Oscar - and Remy. Bash falls pretty fast for a guy who’s never committed to anything but a fitness routine in his adult life, but sensible Remy is not quick to buy into his sudden conversion to monogamy.
There were dad jokes at the start of each chapter from Bash’s POV, and sweary, empowering affirmations to kick off those from Remy’s POV (loved many of those). Add in hopeful meddling by friends and family, and there’s pretty much something for everyone, but it was just not gelling for me, stylistically or otherwise: 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.
I was furnished an advance reader copy from The Author Agency, and I’m sharing my honest review.

Great story of devotion and perseverance. DV is not something we talk about enough. I adored all of the characters and am looking forward to book 2. (Thank you, Cathryn for not giving Remy a pregnancy scare/pregnancy.) Considering myself a Queenager from here on out.

LATE HARVEST is the first instalment in Cathryn Lyons’ contemporary, adult RED WINE SUPPER CLUB erotic, romance series, a spin off set in the author’s SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE series. This is forty-nine year old Hollywood actor Sebastian ‘Bash’ Wheatley, and forty-seven year old orthopedic surgeon Dr. Arabella ‘Remy’ Remington’s story line. LATE HARVEST can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines/ series is revealed where necessary. Bash Wheatley is the brother of Honor Wheatley (Stardust 3/ Second Chance at Love) .Several characters from the Second Chance at Love series cross over for familiarity and cohesion.

Told from dual omniscient third person perspectives (Remy and Bash) LATE HARVEST focuses on the building romance and relationship between our story line couple. Bash Wheatley is determined to land the role of a lifetime but the producer struggles with Bash’s questionable personal life. To prove he is worthy of the role, Bash offers up a ‘marriage of convenience ‘ contract to Dr. Arabella ‘Remy’ Remington, an orthopedic surgeon, working for his brother in law Dr. Brinder Desai (Stardust 3), a woman whose past is heart breaking and dark. Dr. Remington is known as the Ice Queen, and as such, Bash Wheatley’s immediate attraction to, and overwhelming need for Remy is questionable at best. Opposites on the surface, Remy and Bash find themselves enmeshed in a whirlwind relationship but the paparazzi and online gossip rags are determined to tear them down.
The world building focuses on both Remy and Bash’s intense and successful careers, their interconnected relationships with previous story line characters including Bash’s sister Honor and her husband Brinder. We are introduced to the newly formed and rapidly growing Red Wine Supper Club, a group of women who need an outlet at the end of a busy day when one of their own needs a friendly smile or a hug, as well as the dark secrets Remy keeps buried along with the people she considers family and friends.
The relationship between Remy and Bash begins as an arrangement but quickly turns into something more. Bash offers Remy his heart, a substantial amount of money for Remy’s personal charity, and a lifetime of laughs and tears, as our hero is always waiting with a joke and a hug. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and dynamic secondary and supporting characters including the return of Honor and Brinder, and Tiercy and Cole (Heartstrings #1). But beneath all the humor and heat, there is a beautiful emotional story here. Remy has spent so much of her life protecting herself and carrying painful secrets, and watching her slowly allow herself to be vulnerable was one of my favorite parts of the book.
And Sebastian? He may look like the stereotypical Hollywood heartthrob on the outside, but there is SO much more to him than meets the eye. 🥹
I loved that this was a later-in-life romance because it gave the story a different kind of emotional depth. These aren't characters figuring out who they are for the first time. They're two people who have lived, loved, been hurt, built careers, and created lives… and then unexpectedly find someone who makes them question whether there might still be room for something completely different.
There was heart, humor, heat, vulnerability, and plenty of swoon-worthy moments, and I loved watching this unlikely pair discover that sometimes the greatest love story isn't the one you planned for.

If you love contemporary romance featuring an orthopedic surgeon and a sexy movie star, this book is for you: “Late Harvest” by Cathryn Lyons. This book is officially published! SO, GRAB YOUR COPY TODAY! This is my first time reading from this author, and I am very pleased! It was well-written, and I was invested from the start. This book is the first in a new series called Red Wine Supper Club, and I am excited to see what she has in store.
I immediately connected with Arabella Remington, but prefer to go by Remy. Remy is an orthopedic surgeon who likes routine; she is very punctual and needs everything to be in order. She has many layers due to her struggles growing up in unsafe conditions, and she volunteers at a local shelter, her safe space.
Sebastian Wheatley, who goes by Bash. Is a charming, charismatic, sexy Hollywood star. He was immediately smitten with Remy at first glance. He joked and flirted his way to Remy’s heart. I laughed, thought it was so cute, and was rooting for them at his first glance.
As the story progresses, Remy and Bash decided to strike a deal: a temporary marriage of convenience in which both parties benefit. Bash is taken more seriously and lands the role of his dreams (not a random dude in a romantic comedy). On the other hand, Remy will get the necessary funds to help the local shelter where she volunteers. Their fake marriage/relationship soon becomes real, as their true feelings evolve. They have to go through personal dilemmas to make things work. In the end, they both get their Happy Ever After.
Overall, I enjoyed this story. I will be following Cathryn Lyons to read more of the Red Wine Supper Club, because once I start a series, I need to finish. I’m sure Cathryn Lyons has many more stories to tell.

It took me a while to get into Late Harvest, but it turned out to be quite a sweet fake relationship/marriage of convenience romance. And I really liked the "finding love later in life" angle for Remy and Bash's reverse grumpy-sunshine romance.
Hollywood actor Sebastian/Bash is such a loud, gregarious personality, and Remy was so quiet and reserved. The contrast in their personalities really came through in this story, and I loved seeing how her walls slowly came down around his golden retriever energy. Bash was smitten with Remy from the moment he first laid eyes on her in his brother-in-law's office, and it was rather amusing to see how tongue-tied the Hollywood heartthrob got around the prickly surgeon. When Bash needs a wife to secure a role, he proposes a fake marriage to Remy. Although she's hesitant at first, her beloved shelter will reap the benefit of the money he's offering her, so she relents.
The fake relationship turns out to be everything Remy didn't know she needed. Not only did she gain a cheerleader in Bash, but she inherited a found family that made her life so much richer. As pieces of Remy's backstory were told, my heart broke for her and the trauma she'd lived through, so I was so happy to see her find a way to heal through her newfound relationship and friendships.
This charming book features a wonderful main couple, a great group of supporting characters, and a heartwarming happy ending. I recevied an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Late Harvest by Cathryn Lyons is a sweet, later-in-life romance. While the pacing felt a little slow in places, the story was incredibly heartwarming and easy to connect with. I especially related to Remy (Arabella) and her somewhat antisocial nature, as well as Bash (Sebastian) and his ADHD thought processes. In fact, I found myself laughing out loud at times because his internal monologue felt so familiar.
I also appreciated that the main characters were in their forties, which gave the romance a refreshing perspective. The banter between Bash and Remy was fantastic, and Bash's golden retriever energy made him impossible not to love. Watching their relationship grow naturally into something real was one of the highlights of the book. They both challenged each other to grow, especially Remy, who started out as a strong, independent, but closed-off surgeon. Through her relationship with Bash, she learned to let people into her life, and by the end she had built meaningful friendships as well as a fulfilling romance.

I love the characters in this book, from Remy and Bash to the entire Red Wine Supper Club, to Honor and Brinder. I LOVE how much Bash loves Remy, his love for her is so pure, so giving, so wholesome. When you’ve experienced the kind of abuse and trauma Remy has, being with someone who loves you so wholeheartedly makes all the difference in the world.
Remy!!! What can I say, she’s awesome! She has survived so much, has experienced so much, and it’s a miracle that she still chooses to open up her heart, that she has the courage to learn to trust again.
This was a deeply emotional book, I found myself crying quite a few times and I had to pause and take a breath.
In a world that continues to tell women we lose our value as humans once we’re over 30, it was so wonderful seeing women in their 40s living life, finding love, building beautiful friendships, healing, and realizing how much power they have, power they have earned by surviving and thriving in a world that constantly tries to bring them down.

The story starts out a little slow, while the author is developing the characters. Remy is very job focus, leaving no time to make friends or have any kind of life/work balance. The only time she spends outside of work is to volunteer at a women's shelter, which is suffering from financial problems.
Bash is trying to land a serious movie role, but has been type cased as a never serious, perpetually single, fun loving guy. Bash recommends a marriage of convenience, to improve his image, and in exchange, he'll make a substantial donation to the shelter. It's a win/win proposal.
It's refreshing to read a story about a couple with "a little tread on the tires", which is a nice way of saying their pushing 40. They've experienced a lot of life and it shows.
I love that the couples from her Second Chance series make an appearance in this story. I also love the dad jokes at the beginning of every chapter. I highly recommend reading her Second Chance series also.
I enjoyed this story immensely! I wish we had a local chapter of the Red Wine Supper Club near me. I could use some new friendship in my life. I am looking forward to the next story in this series.

I received Late Harvest as an ARC read and was able to finish in just after midnight on the release day. I rarely read MF romance nowadays but when I saw this book I was interested. As an gal who's also in her 40s, I was interested in reading about a super talented older surgeon falling in love with a hunk of a movie star. Overall, I enjoyed Remy and Bash's story. Remy has a lot of baggage and trauma to work through before accepting love. Bash is an ADHD golden retriever who wants someone who sees him for him. The two of them fit together so well, it is practically insta-love! Which is funny considering Bash's love of shifter romance.
There aren't a lot of spicy scenes, maybe 5 major ones. But those scenes are super hot. Bash is devoted to his queen in all ways and makes sure she's extremely...happy...before he gets his. A devoted man in bed is HOT.
Rating it 4 instead of 5 stars because I thought the story dragged a bit at the beginning. I'm also not sure it needed to be as long as it was. But once the plot got going, things moved fast. I really enjoyed Late Harvest! I'm interested in reading future stories in this series now that those seeds are planted.

I’ve been reading romance books for a very long time. So I’m always ecstatic when we have a mature heroine. Apparently some writers think older men are sexy and debonair but older women are gross. We mature readers want to read about mature women who are confident, self assured, self sufficient and accomplished which is what Remy is. She’s a very accomplished surgeon who is demanding and expects the best from her staff. Now Sebastian our hero is our playboy Hollywood guy. He’s outspoken and a bad boy. Sebastian has a terrible imagine which he must reform. So when he’s at the hospital to meet his brother in law and sees Remy he is immediately attracted to her. His approaches are rebuffed and he can’t seem to make an advancement to get to know her better until he discovers her weaknesses. Sebastian concocts a plan that they have an arranged marriage to help his imagine/career and he will give her the money to help the shelter she wants to protect. This arranged marriage allows these two to learn more about each other, explore their attraction and fall in love. I loved watching these two mature adults fall in love and I enjoyed watching them heal each other and find true happiness.

This was released on August 18th so my apologies for a late review. I did love the older MCs in this one, it was so refreshing!!
We have Remy who is a successful surgeon and a loner. She hardly has any friends, just coworkers. When Sebastian enters the hospital and sees her, he has to have her...except Remy isn't interested in a Hollywood superstar. This one fell flat for me. For a man who was supposedly a playboy, he was cheesier than my 65 year old Dad. It really didn't fit with his reputation and fell flat to me. Imagine Chandler Bing if you will, it just didn't fit. I also felt this story was much longer than it needed to be for a fake dating romance.
I did love how Remy grew and actually made a group of real, solid friends. That was nice to see! This was a 3 star read from me!

Late Harvest may be my favorite book by author Cathryn Lyons (and I loved her Second Chance at Love series). When we meet Remy and Bash at the beginning of the book it's hard to imagine that these two very different people - a serious surgeon with her protective walls firmly in place and a Hollywood mega star trying to land the role of a lifetime - have anything in common. But Bash falls hard and Remy falls quickly but cautiously. Soon enough we see that there is a deep emotional connection developing between them. Cathryn Lyons brings her signature style to this book with beautifully developed main characters, deep friendships among women, some spicy scenes, witty turns of phrases, and humor that will keep you turning the pages. Lyons takes us on beautiful journey where we see Remy overcome the traumas of her past to open herself to love and Bash find his true self and the love he had been missing his entire life. This debut book in Lyons’ new Red Wine Supper Club has the series off to a fantastic start! Note: I received an advanced reader copy of Late Harvest.

Late Harvest by Cathryn Lyons is a fun, steamy, and refreshing later-in-life romance that proves love, passion, and new beginnings don’t have an expiration date. I really enjoyed the FMC Remy and MMC Sebastian’s chemistry. Their relationship started with a marriage-of-convenience arrangement, but the attraction between them quickly made things much more complicated and much more entertaining. I loved the combination of humor, heart, emotional depth, and spice. Remy was strong and independent, while Sebastian brought plenty of charm and confidence, making them a great opposites-attract pairing. The story also highlights friendship, healing, and taking a chance on happiness when you least expect it. Overall, Late Harvest was an enjoyable start to the Red Wine Supper Club series, and I’m definitely curious to see what comes next for the other women in the group.

I felt this book was slow to get into, but once I did, I couldn’t put it down.
Remy is a successful surgeon and never expected to meet a movie star, even though her boss is married to one. Sebastian, or Bash to his friends, fell head over heels for Remy the first time he saw her. Then, while talking to a director, stated they were in a serious relationship and considering marriage to help land a role. Good thing he has a great incentive to help her agree to a fake relationship. Though it doesn’t stay fake for very long, as real feelings come out quickly for both of them. But Remy’s got some past trauma she’s still dealing with and doesn’t think this will last. Add in the spotlight that comes with Bash, and it makes it worse.
Remy and Bash get their happy ending in this standalone book in a series.
I love that they were both older in this book and not young kids just starting out. I felt I could relate more to the characters more so than ones in their twenties. My heart went out to Remy and all that she went through in her life, and I don’t blame her for being hesitant to give her heart away again. Though it was great that she was finally building a support system again with people who cared about her around her and weren’t her husband. I do have to wonder how many of the ladies in the Red Wine Supper Club will get books and happy endings, as only two are now single.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
I know that it’s easy for physicians to get caught up in their studies and then in their work, so the idea that someone could be in their 40s and not really know how to make friends isn’t surprising. Remy felt so viscerally real to me that I’m actually pretty disappointed we can’t meet! I especially love adored her awkwardness at the beginning of the Red Wine Supper Club meetings!
Sweet Sebastian is so full of the golden retriever energy I’ve come to know and love in characters who fall first and harder. His fake marriage scheme was so much more fun because the characters were in their 40s.
I approve of the setup for a series of the Red Wine Supper Club and will be looking forward to the rest of this series!

I knew I would enjoy this book from the blurb, but it completely surpassed my expectations of "enjoy" and I freaking loved it! Remy is the ice queen shaped by traumatic life experiences, Bash is the class clown who's finally ready to be serious -- except nobody believes him. Cathryn Lyons has a way of taking you into the emotions of her characters, and the emotional rollercoaster of this book had me laughing, tearing up, and everything in between. The Domestic Vi*lence that shapes Remy's life and outlook was sobering and believable. The ADHD representation in Bash was seriously relatable as someone who is also ADHD inattentive. Top it all off with well researched medical scenes and a wine loving girl gang and you have a recipe for a book who's world you'll be living in long after you finish the last chapter.

Arabella and Sebastian are both older and have experienced so much, but are willing to let love lead the way. Arabella Remington has had a difficult life, and I was unprepared for how much she overcame. Bash knew immediately how wonderful she was and never wanted to let her go. Sebastian has seemingly led a charmed life, but very few people know the real him and his true goodness. Remy was quickly shown his true self but needed to deal with her own struggles first. Their love story was beautiful and heart-wrenching, but the Red Wine Supper Club's support made things easier. I am excited to hear more about each woman in the club and watch their love stories unfold. Late Harvest will give you all the feels and provide plenty of spice. Enjoy!
