I thoroughly enjoyed this story so much I read it from beginning to end nonstop. I cried, smiled, laughed, and felt just about every emotion these characters felt. Kami draws you in and makes you feel and have a front row seat watching every play out as if you’re there in real time. We were warned only on about the tears but my goodness.😂 It was real and raw and touched on so many topics we often avoid horrible family issues, domestic violence, down low men, child predators, and abandonment. Nauri, Lyric, Ari, East, and Logic were getting it out the mud as kids, hustling, being providers and saviors for each other and raising themselves which we see so often. Nauri and Ari were best friends until some things happened that separated them. Nauri had the weight of the world on his shoulders trying to make something out of nothing until he had to grow up too fast. Oh and if Nauri said you better believe it. This book was so real and raw. Even as adults they have to continue to be there for each other as the past and people from it began to pop up. They then could enjoy the life they only dreamed of in childhood to the fullest. It was full of romance, pain, healing, forgiveness, and love that ultimately wins. 10/10
What the heck did I just read? These kids were really out here raising themselves and trying to make it. Kami said there were going to be tears, but darn. I am about to catch a case from reading a book. There is no way in hell them women were serious. Funny thing is, people be like that for real. My heart broke for those babies.
Keynauri, sir, you are a gem. They way you looked out for your sister and friends. As you said, ya'll were family enough. Naiari, was your rib and was willing to wait because you risked it all. You were foul but I understood. You were the glue but had some real brothers holding it down for you.
I am happy their story is not over because more black bags are needed. Great cameo by on of my favorites though.
Mine Again introduces us to Naiari (Ari) and Keynauri (Keyz). Their deep friendship and love for one another bind them on their journey through tragic circumstances and into adulthood. When the adults in their lives failed them, they still found a way independently and eventually together to make a life they only dreamed of in their youth. They make it through the fire and finally get to pop their ‘ish!
This story is heartfelt, full of drama, and sexy! You’ll love the characters that support them along the way- Nova, Lyric, Logic, and East to name a few. We even get cameos of previous characters- Hey Mr. Graham👋🏾. If this is only the end for now then Author Kami set us up for a beautiful ride.
Young love that doesn’t fade but gets torn apart by circumstance. Mine Again follows BBF Naiari and Keynauri, and Kami Holt did a beautiful job developing both them and the supporting cast.
Now let’s be clear the parents in this book? Trash. And that’s me being polite. These babies practically had to raise themselves, so the fact that they turned out as solid as they did says everything about their strength.
I did side-eye Keyz a little. After that secret came out, Naiari told him the truth and he basically told her to kick rocks… so sir, why are you mad again? That part had me like, choose wisely. But overall, this was a great read. Kami never disappoints, and I loved seeing Benet and Jah pop back up from a previous story.
The family dynamics. The survival mindset. The way both of them are loving from broken places.
Keynauri isn’t just a “street dude.” He’s a boy trying to outrun his environment. And Naiari loving him while knowing he’s walking a dangerous path? That hit.
The best friends to lovers tension felt real. Not forced. Not rushed. Just years of feelings sitting heavy between them.
It’s messy. It’s flawed. But it’s honest.
If you like urban romance that feels lived in instead of glamorized, this is for you.
This was funny, it was romantic, there was some drama but I think everything ended nicely. I’m slowly becoming a friends turned lovers girly, that and secret baby trope have me sold. This book had everything, it was worth the wait. Also - I screamed “Loyal!!!” When he had a cameo like I know him in real life
Keyz and Cocoa Puffs..YES! While their story was filled with pain and chaos, I loved reading about their friendship and love story. This book made you laugh, swoon, and yell…but it was worth the ride! This read reinforced why I downloaded the day it was a released and finished in less than two days…Kami is that girl!
