This debut novel by Trissie Leigh was so much more than I coule have hoped. It's a beautiful story of found family, healing, and high school sweethearts. Squiggy leaves her hometown, friends, and high school boyfriend behind when tragedy strikes. She must find her way back to forgiveness from those she left and from herself.
I loved that the storyline didn't follow traditional romantic guidelines which made it refreshing and heartwarming. The lovely message of growth and healing after trauma wasn't a trope I knew I needed, but now I can't wait to see where these characters and this story goes next. What an amazing start to Trissie's career to such a deserving person. Definitely take the chance and find your next favorite author!
I absolutely love this book! Gotta love a sweet romance with a great plot and HEA ❤️ Twists and turns I didn't see coming that kept me at the edge of my seat. I don't re-read books, but this is one I definitely will be 🎉
Where do I even begin?! This is Trissie Leigh’s debut novel, and whatever she’s putting down, I’m picking up! This was such a heartfelt, beautiful story about trauma, healing, second chances, and unwavering love. The characters were all so beautifully developed. The story centers on Squiggy and Anderson, high school sweethearts whose lives are shattered after a gut wrenching, life changing tragedy. In the aftermath, Squiggy runs away, only to return three years later to face the world she left behind. But coming back means confronting the people who felt abandoned by her, starting with her best friend Tipsy, her boyfriend Anderson, and her other friends Kip and Allison. We follow Squiggy as she tries to rebuild the life she walked away from and figure out where she fits now. I was into every character and their journeys. Honestly, I’m already hoping there are more books to come because I need to know how all of them are doing, and I need more of Squiggy and Anderson!
Thank you to the author, Trissie Leigh for the ARC!
