Shelby Haisley is an independent mystery author from small town Indiana. She has enjoyed psychological thrillers and espionage stories, such as Mission: Impossible and The Bourne Identity, and wanted to write one of her own. Shelby combined her passionate love of writing and vivid imagination to create an original story of danger, deceit, and adventure. She decided it was time for a female heroine to step into the action scene, thus August Havens was born and her story began. Shelby has self-published three books in her original series, The August Havens Chronicles: Wanted (2014), Twisted (2015), and Crossed (2017). She is currently writing the fourth and final novel, Shattered, which is due to release in 2020.

August Havens story continues with her in hiding and trying to start a new life with a GED under her belt now and attending college. August is trying to stay one step ahead of the CIA and the person who is after Jase’s new invention.

Everyone thinks that August is lying in a hospital bed in a coma instead of hiding out and looking out for her best friend Blaire. When August is seen following Blaire home from school she races to her friend and lets her in on her secrets. It would be very dangerous to leave Blaire behind now so August takes her friend with her to keep her safe and out of the government’s hands.

Twisted is a fast paced read that kept me on the edge of my seat as August and her friends raced around the country side running from bad people who were out to take her into custody or worse. What do these people want with August? The excitement and adrenaline kept rising and rising with each turn of the page with never a dull moment in between.

Just when you thought August and her friends were safe they were captured again. Who are all these people and what do they want with a sixteen-year-old girl, her best friend and her boyfriend?

Twisted kept me guessing and on my toes from beginning to end and even now I am still wondering what is going on with August and her life? I can’t wait to dive into the next book Crossed to hopefully gain some answers to my questions.

The August Havens series just gets better and better with each story. I would love to see Twisted and its predecessor Wanted on the big screen. I would like to see if the story I see playing out in my head as I read Twisted and Wanted would be the same in a movie or TV show.

Shelby Haisley is one amazing writer and I highly recommend Twisted and Wanted to anyone who is into mystery and suspense stories. One click yourself a copy of both Twisted and Wanted today!

Twisted by Shelby Haisley is a sequel to her fantastic book "Wanted" and it is as fast paces and action filled as the first one. And it makes the reader crave for the next one in the series as the answers to August's past and why everyone wants her and why is she so important that she shouldn't be killed but captured Why? Why? Want to know the answers. Dear Shelby please .....
The book full of action and there is not a single page which is slow or where nothing is happening. The only thing bugged me is just when August and her friends relax they are captured or almost captured by one of their pursuers That is too many times.
Otherwise it is book that is completely riveting and edge of seat thriller that makes you want to join in
This series should be made into a movie

The second book about August Havens had me aching for an explanation after reading number one. After finishing the book, the ache is still there. I’m even more confused than I was when reading the first book, and would almost call this book a follow-up prequel.

That said, it was once again action-filled and there was not a single page where the reader was allowed to relax their focus – nor would one want to. The different story lines were kept apart properly despite touching at different points, so the chronology was easy to follow. This, in addition to a suitable vocabulary considering the characters and the book’s target audience, would have led me to give the book four stars, but the love story in the book felt too forced for me to take it seriously, which unfortunately took away from the score.

Immediately after finishing this book, I grabbed the third one. I have come this far, now I might as well get some answers!

The second installment of the story of August Havens continues and like I said before, Shelby is a fantastic writer, she just gets it. I love the simplistic way she writes, so effortless and straight to the point. Another action packed and really twisted tale of August and her new family. It’s so filled of suspense that there was not a single page where the reader was allowed to breathe or relax. The anxiety, strength and efforts of the characters just keeps you hanging till the end.

The story ended on a bit of a cliff hanger and I can't wait to start the next one. My request to Shelby is; turn The August Havens Chronicles into an action thriller TV series and it will be a blockbuster. A MUST READ!

The story of August Havens continues. It's another action packed installment, that kept me hanging on until the end. The elements of the story are much more believable this time. August while well trained, is still just a head strong and impulsive teenager. There is one element of the story that was a bit shocking based on the fact that August is just 16, but not entirely unheard of. I don't want to disclose any spoilers. The story ended on a bit of a cliff hanger and I can't wait to start the next book.
